Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen concedes he’s likely to leave Galatasaray at the end of the season.

On-loan from Napoli, Osimhen is being chased by Europe’s biggest clubs for the summer market.

After the stalemate with Fenerbahce, Osimhen told local reporters: “Let me be honest, at the moment I don’t know.

“Until a few months ago no one would have imagined that I could come and play at Galatasaray and many thought that I would leave in January.

“As for me, I live in the moment and I don’t know what will happen in the summer. I love these fans, the club, the city, for me it’s a privilege and I’m enjoying this experience here.”

Osimhen transfer to Man U: Club wants discount on £62m release clause

The club is exploring creative strategies to bring the Nigerian who’s on a season-long loan to Galatasaray from Napoli, to Old Trafford, which may include player exchanges to help offset costs.

According to Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo, United’s recruitment team is working on a plan to negotiate a deal with Napoli that would allow them to pay less than Osimhen’s £62 million release clause.

This approach shows the club’s serious intent to strengthen their attacking options under new manager Ruben Amorim.

In a decisive move, United is reportedly considering the sale of Joshua Zirkzee to facilitate the transfer.

The Dutch striker, who has struggled to make an impact since his arrival last summer, could be used to raise funds and reduce the overall cost of the deal

However, Manchester United faces stiff competition for Osimhen’s signature, as Paris Saint-Germain has also expressed interest, adding urgency to United’s negotiations.

The interest from the French giants could potentially drive up Osimhen’s price and complicate United’s plans.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen has been in impressive form this season, scoring 12 goals in 15 competitive appearances.

His potential arrival at Old Trafford could provide the firepower that United desperately needs to climb up the Premier League table.

January window: No club has contacted us on Osimhen’s future-Napoli Sporting Director

Napoli sporting director Giovani Manna has disclosed that no club has contacted the Serie A outfit over a possible move for Victor Osimhen.

The 25-year-old joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli in early September after his move to Chelsea collapsed on transfer deadline day.

However, the break clause in Osimhen’s contract means the player can leave in January should his suitors meet his release clause.

Manna, however, believes the reigning African Footballer of the Year will remain in Turkey for the rest of the campaign.

“I already said many times, nobody has talked to us. Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. I think too much has been said about this, there is nothing happening,” Manna told DAZN.

Osimhen has been in decent form since joining the Turkish Super Lig giants, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances for the club.

Galatasaray coach Buruk Okan expects Victor Osimhen to see out the season.

Osimhen is on-loan at Gala from Napoli, which have been approached by Manchester United in recent days for the Nigeria striker.

But Okan says: “Osimhen intends to stay here until the end of the season.

“He also wants to stay and has been telling me the same thing since the beginning. There is a clause, but it doesn’t matter, he said he will stay.

“The important thing is the player, it is the player who decides and Osimhen says he will stay here. He said the same thing when he came.”

Osimhen in dilemma as Napoli rejects Galatasaray permanent move

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has firmly dismissed all speculation about Super Eagles’ permanent move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

In a recent statement, Manna pointed out that the Turkish Super Lig champions cannot meet the hefty €75 million buyout clause contained in Victor Osimhen’s contract, and further claimed that negotiations are effectively off the table.

Napoli’s sporting director stated: “Our door is closed to negotiations. Currently, Galatasaray does not have the financial capabilities to pay this significant amount.”

Manna also emphasized that although the fee is 75 million euros, it is worth noting that many clubs are showing interest in acquiring Osimhen and are willing to meet that financial demand.

The 25-year-old striker, who has been performing brilliantly since joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan in September, has made a remarkable impact on the pitch.

In just nine games across various competitions, Osimhen has scored an impressive eight goals and provided four assists, showcasing his talent and value to the Okan Buruk squad.

This strong performance has undoubtedly attracted attention, but Manna’s statements indicate that Napoli are not currently pursuing offers for the Nigeria international.

Galatasaray are planning a swap deal for Osimhen as they may not be able to meet the striker’s release clause.

Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, Mikel said: “I hear a lot of people saying this and saying that about Victor and and how greedy he is, blah, blah, blah. ‘Take a pay cut and come to Chelsea’ blah, blah, blah, stuff like that.

“I know the kid. I know the boy. I just want to say that that is absolutely not true.

“Victor is not a greedy boy. He’s not a greedy guy, he only wants to get what he deserves and that’s not a problem.”

Super Eagles of Nigeria defeat Benin Republic 3-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday.

The encounter is beginning of the qualification stages for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
