Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has rejected a lucrative €130m bid from Al-Hilal for Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen,

TheNewsGuru.com reports that Saudi pro league side Al Hilal tabled a whooping €130m for the prolific striker.

Recall that Napoli already rejected offers from Paris Saint Germain and are tempting the striker with an improved contract.

Osimhen, who played a crucial role in Napoli’s triumphant Scudetto-winning campaign last season, has garnered significant interest from various quarters. The Italian club clinched the Serie A title for the first time in over three decades, with Osimhen’s stellar performances in the forefront.

As per reports from Il Mattino via TMW, Al-Hilal presented their bid to De Laurentiis, putting forth the sum of €130m for the Nigerian international. However, Napoli swiftly declined the proposal, indicating their unwillingness to part ways with the talented striker during this summer transfer window. Instead, Napoli is focusing on securing Osimhen’s future at the club by negotiating a new long-term contract. They value the player at approximately €200m.

Osimhen’s heroics for Napoli last season saw him finish the season as the league top scorer with 24 goals for the first an African would attain such feat.

Napoli also broke a 33 -year jinx by clinching the scudetto first time since 1999.

Many players have since made moves to the Saudi pro league after star forward Cristiano Ronaldo laced his boot for Al Nassr.

However, Osimhen is yet to put pen to paper for contract extension at the Naples based clubside.

  • Serie A: Osimhen misses penalty kick, scores another in Napoli win

Serie A: Osimhen misses penalty kick, scores another in Napoli win

Victor Osimhen saw one penalty kick saved before scoring another as Napoli marked their Scudetto celebrations with a 1-0 win against Fiorentina amid a carnival atmosphere.

Having ended a 33-year wait to win the Serie A on Thursday, Luciano Spalletti’s men were greeted by a jubilant crowd at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

    But two much-changed line-ups made for a low-key opening.

Osimhen thought he had missed the Partenopei’s best chance for victory when he had a second-half penalty kick saved by Pietro Terracciano.

But a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave him the chance to atone.

Serie A’s top goalscorer hammered home at the second time of asking, ensuring Napoli’s long-awaited Scudetto party was capped with three points on Sunday.

Fiorentina gave Napoli a pre-match guard of honour, but they were determined not to extend similar levels of hospitality after kick-off, Luka Jovic heading narrowly over early on.

Eljif Elmas shot wide as Napoli —- who started with Kvaratskhelia and Stanislav Lobotka on the bench —– were slow to click into gear.

Jovic went close again when his deft header was turned away by Pierluigi Gollini, before Osimhen fired into the side netting from a tight angle as half-time approached.

Both Kvaratskhelia and Lobotka were introduced as Napoli looked to step things up.

The latter had an immediate impact when he tempted Sofyan Amrabat into a clumsy foul after the restart, handing Osimhen his first penalty kick.

Osimhen was denied on this occasion as Terracciano pushed his effort around the left-hand post.

But he was to get another chance with 16 minutes left.

Nicolas Gonzalez tripped Kvaratskhelia as he darted into the area and Osimhen made no mistake second time around, blasting into the roof of the net.

Christian Kouame missed Fiorentina’s best chance to level when he lifted over late on, ensuring the champions clung on.

Osimhen’s goal push Napoli to first Serie A title in 33 years

Napoli won their third Serie A title, and their first in 33 years, on Thursday after a 1-1 draw at Udinese gave the Naples side an unassailable lead in the standings.

Napoli’s triumph ended the city’s long wait for the Scudetto since Argentine great Diego Maradona led them to two championships in 1986/1987 and 1989/1990.

A second-half goal by Victor Osimhen secured Napoli the title with five games remaining in the season.

“I am overwhelmed right now. It’s an amazing feeling,” Osimhen told reporters.

“We’ve waited so many years for this moment, and to be able to deliver the Scudetto to the Neapolitans is something we will never forget.”

Napoli have 80 points, securing their position at the top of the table.

Second-placed Lazio, who also have five games left to play, are 16 points adrift of Napoli.

Visiting supporters at the capacity Stadio Friuli held aloft banners adorned with the image of the late Maradona, eagerly anticipating the long-coveted Scudetto.

Sandi Lovric dampened the spirits of Napoli fans when he scored the opening goal after 13 minutes, with a well-placed shot that found the top-right corner of goal.

After Udinese’s goal, Napoli stepped up their attack, and in the 53rd minute, Osimhen sparked jubilant celebrations among the visiting fans when he fired in the equaliser from a rebound.

Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri pulled off a save to block Piotr Zielinski’s half-volley, keeping the scoreline at 1-1 and prolonging the jitters of the Napoli fans.

As the final whistle blew, Napoli supporters rushed onto the pitch to celebrate the momentous occasion alongside the players.

“We were the underdogs at the start of the season. Not many believed in us and so many people wrote us off,” Osimhen said.

“We believed from the start of the season that we have this great squad that can deliver the Scudetto.”

  • Osimhen set to power Napoli to win first Serie A title in 33 years today

Osimhen set to power Napoli to win first Serie A title in 33 years today

Victor Osimhen’s Napoli could be crowned champions today if they do not lose away to Udinese in the Serie A.

Osimhen has been in impressive form all through the season hitting 26 goals in 33 appearances for the Parthenopeans.

Their celebrations were delayed on Wednesday, following Lazio’s 2-0 home win over Sassuolo.

Lazio were under pressure following Juventus’ 2-1 win over Lecce earlier but are back in second place, above them with a one-point lead on 64 points.

A draw or a loss against Sassuolo would have given Napoli an unassailable lead before their match at Udinese.

Osimhen will be hoping to power his side over the finish line at the Dacia Arena.

Should Napoli win the title today, they will be winning the title for the first time in 30 years.

Victor Osimhen close on Serie A title with Napoli

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen put in an impressive performance for Napoli who snatched a last-minute winner against Juventus on Sunday.

The 1-0 win leaves Napoli on the brink of claiming their first Serie A title since 1990 after the hosts had two goals ruled out following VAR reviews.

Giacomo Raspadori was the hero for Napoli as his 94th-minute goal saw Luciano Spalletti’s side complete the double over Juventus this season.

Eljif Elmas crossed for the unmarked Raspadori at the back post and he shaped up for the perfect volley, firing it through Wojciech Szczesny’s legs.

Osimhen went close to breaking the deadlock in the second half after receiving Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s flying back-heel flick but his low strike took a slight deflection and went out for a corner.

From the resulting corner Osimhen saw his header go straight to Szczesny.

Moments later Osimhen threatened again, firing over the bar after running onto another Di Lorenzo assist.

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen will be fit for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg at home to AC Milan next week, manager Luciano Spalletti said on Thursday.

This was after the Nigerian forward missed Wednesday’s 0-1 loss in the first-leg match.

Osimhen, Serie A’s top scorer with 21 goals, was sidelined for this month’s league games against AC Milan and Lecce due to a thigh strain.

“The chances of him being available are 100 percent because the work schedule, it was made in that direction,” Spalletti said.

“He was rested on Wednesday and will be rested for Saturday’s match also, to complete the work done by the doctors. Then, anything can happen.”

Osimhen left out of Napoli’s squad

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen will miss his side’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg game at AC Milan on Wednesday.

This came after the Nigerian was left out of manager Luciano Spalletti’s match day squad due to injury.

Osimhen, who is Serie A’s top scorer this season with 21 goals, has missed this month’s league games against AC Milan and Lecce due to a thigh strain.

In a post on their website, Napoli said Osimhen “worked separately” from the team during Tuesday’s training session.

Giacomo Raspadori is expected to lead the line against AC Milan, with Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone also sidelined due to a thigh issue.

Napoli beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 on aggregate in the last 16 round in March to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time.
