    Tragedy as deputy registrar, Onike dies after falling Ill on campus

    Rahman Onike, the Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora has reportedly passed away  shortly after delivering a lecture on campus on Thursday.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Onike, a native of Oyo town was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care, but was later confirmed dead.

    Confirming his demise, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Opeyemi Olawore, on behalf of the Rector, Professor Akinola Akinlabi in a statement on Friday said the sudden passing came as a shock to the management, staff, and students of the institution.

    She said, “It is with a heavy heart but in submission to the will of Almighty Allah that the Rector, Professor Akinola Akinlabi, announces the death of a highly resourceful staff and seasoned administrator, Alhaji Onike Rahman, the Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs for Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

    “The deceased, who became indisposed shortly after delivering a lecture on campus, was rushed to the hospital for prompt medical attention but was later pronounced dead by medical experts.

    “The Rector, therefore, commiserates with the registry department, staff, students, friends, colleagues, wife, children and family over the colossal loss.

    He joined the services of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, as an Administrative Officer II in 2008 and rose to the position of Deputy Registrar. He was an Alumnus of Saint Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo, University of Ibadan, Olivet High School, among others.”

    Makinde appoints new OYSCATECH governing council

    Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), says the appointment of a governing council will bring remarkable development.

    Akinlabi made this known on Monday in a statement by the institution’s Registrar, Mr Rasheed Adeniji.

    The rector congratulated the newly appointed Chairman and members of the Council, while commending Gov. Seyi Makinde for the timely appointment.

    He described the Council’s inauguration as a welcome move that aligns with the development goals of the Oyo State Government.

    “This appointment will ensure rapid transformation and growth for the institution,” Akinlabi stated.

    The rector expressed confidence that the new Council will build on the achievements of Professor Lateef Sanni’s previous administration.

    He added that the Council members will contribute meaningfully to the college’s progress and stability.

    “The Management will collaborate with the Council to achieve our vision of innovation, food security and youth empowerment,” he said.

    Akinlabi also praised Governor Makinde for his dedication to educational development and his people-centred governance.

    He congratulated the governor on completing six years in office. The rector prayed for continued wisdom and good health for him in his service to the state.

    Dr Amusan Damilare Gideon is the new Governing Council Chairman of OYSCATECH.

    Other members include Alhaji Salami Lateef Adebayo, Mr Oseni Abolade Olosun and Dr Adekunle Onile.

    Also appointed are Mr Kareem Adesina Rashid, Dr Saheed Adetunji Ige, Mr Joseph Oladapo Olaoye and Mr Babatunde Akeem.
