CCC Praise Night Concert: Why I invited Portable, Pasuma – Pastor

Pastor Aderemi Dabiri, the founder of a Celestial Church of Christ branch in Lagos State,  has stated reasons why  he invited famous fuji singer Pasuma, and street hp artiste Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable, for praise night.

The church recently stirred up controversy on social media after unveiling Pasuma and Portable as guest artistes for its upcoming programme.

Reacting to the backlash in a trending video on the internet, Dabiri explained that his decision to invite secular artistes was to gain new converts.

“It is not our first time inviting guest artistes. We have been doing it without a problem and I can give you a series of instances. We can’t go where they sell palm wine or alcoholic drinks and ask them to accept Jesus Christ. If I don’t apply wisdom, they will hit bottle on my head. That was why I thought of a way to bring them into the church,” he said.

While criticising some gospel singers for their disrespectful behaviour, Dabiri added, “Some of the gospel singers are rude. Some of them respond to you rudely, but the day I called Pasuma, he sounded respectful on the phone and also agreed with my stance.”

Dabiri, however, appealed to the Celestial Church worldwide for support and assured of his commitment to using his style of evangelism to bring pride to the church.

Oshoffa, in a post via his Facebook page last week, condemned Portable and Pasuma’s invitation to the church’s praise night stating that he had spoken to the cleric in charge of the parish to make amendments to the posters, adding that the singers would no longer grace the occasion.

He wrote, “Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters.

“He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the Nights. There is No doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”

Portable, however, while reacting to the cancellation of his performance at the event, urged the church not to stop ‘God’s work’.

  • Pasuma and DJ Enimoney are my biggest clients – Celebrity designer, Jaye Of Lagos

Pasuma and DJ Enimoney are my biggest clients – Celebrity designer, Jaye Of Lagos

Lagos-based fashion designer and stylist, Jayeola Olaleye has revealed that Fuji icon and popular Disc Jockey, DJ Enimoney has patronized his brand more than any other celebrity.

In a recent interview with Adebayo Animasaun, the University of Lagos student shared the strong passion he has for his state of origin, Lagos state as well as its culture and values which influenced the brand name Jaye Of Lagos.

‘The name Jaye Of Lagos wasn’t hard to coin as my life and living for about 3 decades has been centred around Lagos, a typical Lagosian won’t behave like a roman if he finds himself in Rome, he will rather convince Romans to lease him a space he can transform to his own Lagos’, Jayeola said.

The 30-year-old, who had styled several celebrities in the entertainment industry, among them are Instagram skit maker, Jigan, show promoter Billyque and others.

Recall, that recently Pasuma Wonder paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and he was seen wearing a snapback cap designed by Jaye Of Lagos.

Jaye Of Lagos shared how the journey started and how he met YBNL member, DJ Enimoney: ‘Well Lagos undeniably is the smallest but yet the most successful state in Nigeria by every means. So, what you do, your circle of friends and where you go and how to present yourself determines who you meet’, he said.

‘For instance, in 2015 when I moved to Ebute Metta area from Iyana school, Iba. A boy who later became my brother Adeola ade_lee Yekin walked up to me during a football match at Okobaba community football field and told me, Boss, you dey always fresh abeg give me updates, thinking i was a yahoo boy. I laughed and told him that I don’t know a thing about YAHOO YAHOO, he didn’t believe me and he went about asking people who I really was but still wasn’t convinced so I invited him to accompany me to Yaba market one day and after buying fabrics he expected me to call a cart pusher but I wasn’t even thinking in that direction, I told him to help me lift my heavy nylon on my head and he was just looking in amazement till we got to Yaba phase 2 where we took bike. when we got home he said to me you are a real YBNL, it was that boy that introduced me to DJ Enimoney’.

TheNewsGuru reports that Jaye Of Lagos started as a musician but things got real at some point in his life which made him go on exile.

‘I was out of school for some time but I’ll say that was the defining point of my career. I consider myself to be a realist because at that point I actually believed my academic career was over and I can’t be paid for dropping out of school but on the other hand, a lot of my friends would rather come to me when they need new cloths and shoes, I saw fashion as an escape route and I followed the light and we are at the other side of the tunnel’.

‘When I see people wearing my cloths, walking in my shoes or counting money in my bags, the Joy is second to none’.

“The beauty and challenge of parenthood is that as tightly as you would like to hold on to your precious one, you continually need to let go. I now truly understand that there is nothing like seeing your tiny tod all grown up and dressed in the bridal attire for her Big Day,” he wrote.

“I must tell you, there is no such sacred bond like father and daughter. Today has been such a roller-coaster ride of emotions for me, looking at my little angel dressed up as the most beautiful ‘Bride’ in her ‘Nikah Wedding Dress’.

  • Nigerians fire Pasuma for raining curses on fans over newly acquired G-wagon

Nigerians fire Pasuma for raining curses on fans over newly acquired G-wagon

Nigerians on social media have condemned Fuji singer, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma, for cursing his fans while cruising his newly acquired G-Wagon.

In the video shared, Pasuma was pictured insulting his followers while hanging out with friends. He also throws jabs at perceived haters, which got a lot of tongue wagging.

Below are reactions from displeased Nigerians who got offended over the jab

@ayaoba_gbomama; ‘who dey drag am with you. Gwagon wey don dey use for camping over here. Abeg rest Mr Pasuma?. I still be your fan anyway’
@whalekedah wrote; ‘This paso dey behave chidish. later now dem go catch u say na fake or na person get am’
    @hardeyhardey; ‘Ewo wani tepe’

@olawally777 ; ‘illiteracy is a big problem. This is sort of old model being used for transport business in South Africa. This brand of car is meant for low income workers in South Africa.’
@ghost.bow101; Werin bring vulgar words now? So local n razz
@ogmichael2019; ‘Na cruise joor, na today una no pasuma ! Congrats Boss man’

TheNewsGuru recalls that in a recent virtual conference, Jaiye Kuti revealed that she was shocked at rumour of being married to Pasuma.

“There was a time I shot a movie with Pasuma. We had a wedding (in the movie) and the pictures were out there. The next thing I saw in the press was that ‘Jaiye Kuti marries Pasuma’. People did not even go to the body of the story to read what was actually there. They just saw the headline and concluded that I had really married Pasuma. When one wants to be great in life, people would say bad things about one. People could say things that could kill one instantly. The beauty of it is that one has one’s legs and one can keep going.

“People that are spreading rumours about one won’t grow. I have heard shocking stories about me. Some people said I gave birth to Mayowa and Temitope Kuti and their father was Pasuma. I don’t have the time to start explaining to everybody that we were only making a movie. I don’t explain things to people. When they greet me, they tell me to extend greetings to Pasuma, and I tell them that I will. When last did I see Pasuma? He was paid to work and he left. Rumours are part of what we live on. It is part of what makes us what we are. One has to be strong to take it. It is like an arrow shot at one. One should not let it kill one; rather, one has to keep going.”
