Kwam 1 was baited by airline staff, and they succeeded in riling him- Veteran actor, Doyle

Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has weighed in on the ongoing airport incident involving Fuji star, KWAM 1.

As reported by TheNewsGuru, KWAM 1 was blacklisted due to an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The singer was scheduled to board a morning flight from Abuja to Lagos on August 5, 2025, however, when the Aviation security personnel stopped him after attempting to carry a flask onto the plane, a confrontation ensued, with KWAM 1 reportedly spilling the contents of the flask on a security officer and refusing to step aside for clarification.

This action, prompted the NCAA to take disciplinary action.

The thespian while reacting via his Facebook noted that the singer may have walked into a trap set by airline staff.

He explained that he once had a similar experience at the Asaba airport, where a staff member treated him harshly despite knowing he was a celebrity. Describing the pattern as common, the veteran noted that KWAM 1 may have been pushed to react out of frustration.

He wrote on his Facebook page: “For the most part, celebrities and famous people get preferential treatment in most public spaces. I made a trip to Accra a few days ago, and from the immigration officers at passport control to the supermarket, check out cashier I was given VIP courtesy. However, there have been a few times when I am confronted by a service personnel with a chip on his or her shoulder, who perhaps has been nursing a grudge against me and finally I am within reach for cumuppance.

“Most times, I may never have ever set eyes on the person, but he or she, for whatever reason, has it in for me. maybe for how I acted in a movie or the answer I gave in an interview. Next thing I know, this service personnel from Hell decides to give me a tough time. Like the lady at the airline check-in counter at the Asaba airport, who bluntly refused to let me carry my hand luggage onboard because it weighed half a kilogram over the accepted limit. I tried to jokingly cajole her, and rather than give in, she rudely barked at me to respect myself.

“I knew she recognised me because her colleague had come to take a selfie with me while I was in the queue. I took her rebuke seriously and comported myself before she escalated the issue and cause a scene. Of course, I knew she was baiting me and hoping to upset me enough for me to activate the “insulted big man” mode. Then there would be a shouting match, and I would be in breach of airport protocol, and she would have bragging rights that she humiliated that “useless” Patrick Doyle. Kwam 1 was baited by the airline staff, and sadly, they succeeded in riling him. I can’t say I blame him because I have been known to go ballistic during such episodes myself. These days, I just pray that God should keep such irritants far away from me and whenever I encounter such “blessed” people, I pray for self control and the grace not to fall into their diabolical traps.”

This is a sign of phychosis – Actor Patrick Doyle drags Wike over thronelike chair while addressing Nigerians

Patrick Doyle, the Veteran Nollywood actor, has called out Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over the type of chair he used while addressing the media on Thursday.

TheNewsGuru reports that the former Rivers governor while addressing the media, sat on a large, gold-trimmed seat which many likened to a royal throne.

Reacting, the veteran actor expressed concern over Wike’s decision to use such a luxurious chair, saying it reflects how some public officials see themselves.

He warned that these public displays of wealth and status by politicians could create more distance between the government and the citizens.

“If this isn’t a throne I wonder what is. Why on earth would a minister of the Nigerian state mount a throne to address Nigerians. This is a sign of the psychosis afflicting Nigerian political office holders, delusion of grandeur”, he wrote on Facebook.

Patrick Doyle drags ex-wife, Ireti, reveals reason she still uses his surname

Veteran Nigerian actor Patrick Doyle has refuted claims that his estranged wife, Ireti Doyle, is more popular than he is.

He argued that his ex-wife’s decision to keep his surname after their divorce was driven by his popularity.

He pointed out that he rose to fame at the age of 16, long before his ex-wife became well-known. In a recent interview with The Muvmnt Studio, the actor emphasized that he cannot be defined by his ex-wife or anyone else, asserting that he has established credentials of his own

The host asked: “Your ex-wife is more popular than you are, how do you feel about that?

Doyle replied: “I have been popular since I was 16. How long has she been around? I have been around for 45 years and I’m still around. I was a superstar at the age of 16; a champion debater. I debated against Yemi Osinbajo.

“I can never be defined by her. My body of work is too solid to be defined by any human being living or dead. Why is the name Doyle popular? Why didn’t she revert and change name at the end of the marriage?

Dolyle married Iretiola Doyle after he lost his first wife to sickle cell anemia in 1999. The couple confirmed their divorce in 2023.

Patrick Doyle ‘exposes’ new form of money laundering in Nigeria

Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has claimed that the real estate industry has become one of the leading forms of money laundering in Nigeria.

TheNewGuru reports that Doyle whilst appearing on Echo Room, hosted by media personality, Quincy Jones lamented over the numerous completed and uninhabited houses in the nation’s capital, Abuja and the Lekki axis of Lagos State due to high prices.

He said, “If you go to Abuja and many estates in the Lekki corridor, you will see plenty of houses completed and uninhabited. So, if it’s the prices that are too high, how come people are still building and they are not being occupied? That should tell you something.

“It’s funny because real estate has become one of the leading forms of money laundering. A lot of it is illegal money finding expression in the construction industry.

“It’s artificial. It beats my imagination how we have so many uncompleted buildings in a place where there is a shortage of housing for people. But there are a lot of empty estates. Go to Abuja, it’s crazy.

“That only tells you that people are just using money that has been stolen to store up value, hoping that one day they will sell. Didn’t you hear about the man who has about 7,000 apartments in one estate in Abuja? It’s better to use the money to build something than to store it in the house where rats are.”

“I bought myself a Lamborghini,” Sophia captioned the video, accompanied by an angry emoji. The socialite couldn’t hide her excitement as she gushed over her new “baby,” clearly thrilled to have taken the driver’s seat – literally.

In reaction, the thespian, in a post via his Facebook page on Sunday, asserted that we have become a people who romanticize iniquity.

Patrick Doyle wrote: “She boasted about the value of her wrist watch and flaunted a 600 million Naira car. The combined value of both items is in the range of 650 to 750 million Naira.

“Some half wits were impressed and effusively congratulated her as she smiled and flaunted both items. As if we hadn’t heard about her shameful means of livelihood.

“Meanwhile,  I can bet that there are members of her extended who are going through a tough time. The romanticising of iniquity has become the stock in trade of dim wits amongst us.”

‘You have to be incredibly dense’ – Veteran actor, Patrick Doyle knocks Davido over remark on Nigerian economy

Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle has slammed Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido over his recent remark advising Black Americans against relocating to Nigeria.

TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the ‘Feel’ crooner, during an interview on ‘The Big Homies House’ podcast, expressed scepticism about the growing interest amongst Black Americans wanting to find their roots.

The singer while responding to the show host’s question about black Americans seeking to return to the motherland, said, “Leave America and go where? It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles”

Davido stressed the economic difficulties and systemic issues affecting African countries.

“It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles. I do my part, I am an ambassador. When I go home and I am filming, I am no going to show the bad parts,” he said.

“I am talking about the situation in the country. Now the exchange rate is messed up, a lot of stuffs are not going well.

“The economy is just not good enough. The oil price is too high. Imagine the country that produces oil, paying more for it than a country importing oil.”

The comment, however, attracted mixed reactions from some citizens.

Reacting to the controversial statement via his Facebook page, Patrick Doyle refers to Davido as an incredibly dense person for telling outsiders not to visit a country where his father has a $2 billion power generation investment.

He said, “You have to be incredibly dense to ask foreigners not to visit a country where your father has a $2 Billion Dollar power generation investment. Some persons ought to know much better.”

Similarly, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe in a post on his official Facebook page advised the singer to retract his statement with immediate effect.

Igbokwe said, “My In-law Davido has made me sad by telling the world in America that Nigeria’s economy is in shambles.

“This is very sad. I will advise him to retract the statement asap. Nigeria made Davido. !!!”

Similarly, Bashir Ahmed, a former aide to Nigerian former president, Mohammadu Buhari said the remark was disappointing.

In a post on his official X handle, Bashir said, “Selling out your country from foreign soil is so disappointing and unpatriotic. Public figures like Davido should know that.

“They should act and be seen as good ambassadors for Nigeria wherever they find themselves. @NOA_Nigeria”!

Veteran actor queries Davido over outfit during visit to Olu of Warri

Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle has called out popular Nigerian singer, Davido over his choice of outfit during his visit to the Olu of Warri, in Delta State.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) earlier reports that Nigerian singers, Davido, and Phyno, among others on Saturday visited the palace of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

The artistes, alongside popular veteran comedian, AY Makun, and celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest, were in Warri for the highly  “Warri AGAIN” event, organized by Amaju Pinnick, the former Nigeria Football Federation’s President.

In the photos that surfaced on social media,  the ‘Feel’ crooner was captured wearing a white polo and brown shorts.

Reacting, Doyle who hails from Itsekiri in Delta State, via his verified Facebook page, wondered if Davido’s outfit to see the king was appropriate.

He captioned the photo: “Is this appropriate dressing to visit the Palace of a king the calibre of the Olu of Warri?”

Meanwhile, Davido, while speaking at the Olu’s palace, disclosed that he is from a respectful family, contrary to what many people think.

According to the singer, his occasional misdemeanours as a celebrity does not mean he didn’t have a proper upbringing.

He said, “I was brought up by great parents. I come from a very respectful family but sometimes, as OBO [star], I may act out of place.”

  • It is insensitive – Patrick Doyle criticises members of Winners chapel for gifting Oyedepo, Rolls Royce

It is insensitive – Patrick Doyle criticises members of Winners chapel for gifting Oyedepo, Rolls Royce

Veteran actor and broadcaster Patrick Doyle has criticised members of Winners Chapel for gifting their founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, a Rolls Royce at a time when many Nigerians can barely feed themselves.

Taking to his Facebook page on Saturday, Patrick opined that the money used in purchasing the luxury cars could have been used to erect structures that would be of benefit to the general public.

The veteran’s reaction comes shortly after the founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, was gifted two Rolls Royce Cullinan at his 70th birthday party.

The post reads: ‘’In these austere times, we all need to be sensitive how we mark landmark celebrations for ourselves or in honour of persons we hold in high esteem. We should even be sensible enough to tone down the public appearance of our affluence. Now is not the time to ride around our streets filled with hungry and despondent Nigerians in our luxury cars.

“I personally know of a friend of mine who has a Rolls Royce and many other luxury cars in his fleet. He now drives around in a  Ford Escape, not as a show of false modesty, but as a gesture of sensitivity to the prevailing hardship in the land. Sadly, not many others in his socio-economic class are doing the same thing. The insensitivity of the elite may very well provide the spark for the long anticipated revolution Nigeria needs for a reset. I am still in a wonder bubble how or why congregants of a denomination chose to celebrate the birthday of their founder by buying him a Rolls Royce at this time.

“In my naive opinion, I find it to be insensitive  in the extreme. While I appreciate the importance of celebrating a man like their founder, a more sensitive gesture would have been to build a socially relevant  facility or institute a scholarship scheme in his honour. The cost of the Rolls Royce could certainly have funded any of the things I just mentioned. We appear to be a people who get stuck on old formats and ways of doing things. When congregations used to buy cars for their pastors, it was at a time many of the pastors could not on their own muster the resources to buy one themselves. This is certainly not the case in this instance. The celebrator, in this case, already has a fleet of luxury autos and even aircrafts. A more befitting birthday gift might have been the construction and equipping of a vocational training centre in his name or any other such thing.

“The public already has the impression that as the founder of 2 elite private universities, he is not sufficiently acquainted with the sufferings of the masses. So, a gesture such as I have suggested might have helped to mitigate that impression.  This is my humble opinion offered from the depth of my affection for the great man who I personally hold in the highest esteem.”

2024 BET Awards: Daddy Freeze replies Patrick Doyle over remarks on Tems’ best gospel award

Controversial Nigerian preacher Daddy Freeze, real name Ifedayo Olarinde, has reacted to ace actor Patrick Doyle’s remark after Nigerian sensational singer Tems won the best gospel/inspirational award at the 2024 BET awards.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that veteran actor Patrick Doyle said Christians who feel slighted that Tems won the award should stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia.

He wrote: “I feel the pain of mainstream gospel artistes who feel slighted that Tems an evidently secular musician was awarded the BET award for the best gosel song. That said, I believe its about time that committed christians stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia which by the way is in the grip of satan.”

The actor’s comment comes as the Grammy winner claimed the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for her 2023 hit, “Me & U,” beating out notable artists like Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, and Maverick City Music.

Reacting, Daddy Freeze via Instagram, slammed the actor, stating that, rather than belittle the singer’s achievements, he should be grateful that a Nigerian has made us proud.

Freeze later quoted the scripture encouraging Christians to give thanks, regardless of the unfavourable circumstances.

He said, “Instead of invalidating the awards or belittling her achievements, can we please be grateful a Nigerian has done us proud? At least the scriptures are clear when they say that in all things, we should give thanks to GOD. Or isn’t this one of those things?

“1 Thessalonians 5:18 “New International Version, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ.”

  • Burna Boy hasn’t done anything to be called great – Patrick Doyle

Burna Boy hasn’t done anything to be called great – Patrick Doyle

A Nigerian actor, has argued that Burna Boy, the Grammy award winner, has “not done anything to be described as great”.

The actor in a Facebook face said Burna Boy owes his greatness to “music pioneers like Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, Majek Fashek, I.K. Dairo, who paved the way for his success”.

The movie star also urged the ‘I Told Them’ hitmaker and other artistes “to be humble and respectful of their diligent and truly pioneering predecessors”.

“The credit for the feats that appear to be puffing the likes of Burna Boy up have to be properly ascribed to the greats who cleared the thorny paths that have created pathways for his likes to walk through practically effortlessly,” he wrote.

“Burna Boy has not by himself done anything that can be remotely described as great. He and his peers are recipients of the labours of heroes past. They need to be humble and respectful of their diligent and truly pioneering predecessors.

“Great artistes like SunnyAde, Fela Anikulapo, Majek Fashek, I, k. Dairo and a galaxy of others who paved the way from the 60s, to the 2000s.

“Greatness and great feats don’t exist in a vacuum. Let us not contribute to the creation of an arrogant and obnoxious monster.”

Doyle, however, did not state why the self-proclaimed African Giant was singled out for reprimand.
