Pogba’s sentence was very heavy – Didier Deschamps

France manager Didier Deschamps says the doping sentence on Paul Pogba was very heavy.

Deschamps, who spoke at the press conference ahead of the friendly matches against Germany and Chile, discussed Pogba and his four-year doping ban.

“I talked to him,” said Deschamps. “Morally and psychologically it was a hard blow for him.

“The sentence that was handed down was very heavy. He appealed so there will be another sentence. I don’t like having a categorical position. Humanly he is a really good person.

“I wish him to rediscover the pleasure of being on the pitch and playing before thinking about France.”

BREAKING: Paul Pogba banned from football for four years

France Midfielder Paul Pogba has been given a four-year ban from football by Italy’s anti-doping tribunal after testing positive for testosterone last August. A spokesman for the club told he had been notified of the decision against the 30-year-old World Cup winner, who had been provisionally suspended in September.

“We received notification from the tribunal this morning,” the spokesman said. Italy’s anti-doping body did not immediately respond when contacted by AFP.

Anti-doping prosecutors had called for the four-year ban to be imposed on the former Manchester United midfielder, who tested positive following Juventus’s opening match of the Italian Serie A season against Udinese on August 20, during which he was an unused substitute.

A month later a B sample confirmed the presence of testosterone, and he has been provisionally suspended since.

Pogba’s representatives said the testosterone came from a food supplement prescribed by a doctor he consulted in the United States.

Pogba, who returned to Juventus for a second spell in 2022 after six years at United, was a key member of the France team that won the World Cup in Russia in 2018, scoring in the final against Croatia.

His positive doping test came as he was trying to put behind him a difficult first season back at Juve, in which he made just 10 appearances and was troubled by off-field issues including an investigation into an extortion attempt against him.

BREAKING! Paul Pogba suspended for failing anti-doping test

France and Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba has tested positive for testosterone following their Serie A clash with Udinese, few weeks back, according to reports from the Corriere della Sera.

Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal said Pogba returned a test with elevated levels of testosterone after Juve’s 3-0 win at Udinese on 20 August.

Pogba has played a combined total of 51 minutes as a substitute this season in games with Bologna and Empoli.

The report claims Pogba has three days to respond to the charge.

Anti-doping test are being carried out randomly on players immediately after matches in most elite European leagues.

The former Manchester United midfielder must now produce a counter-analysis of the result.

If Pogba is found guilty, bans for doping in Serie A can carry suspensions from playing lasting between two and four years, leaving the 30-year-old in significant trouble.

Paul Pogba speaks on Ronaldo’s attitude at Old Trafford

France and Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba has relived the attitude of former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo while they were both playing for Manchester united.

Recall that Ronaldo and Pogba shared the same dressing room last season after the French man’s  12 years stint outside Old Trafford.

Similarly, the Frenchman and the Portuguese have had two stints with the Red Devils and have represented Juventus during the course of their careers.

However,  the France international only shared the pitch with Ronaldo last season and has a lot to say about the former Real Madrid man’s attitude to the game.

“The discipline of Ronaldo was unbelievable – I’ve never seen this. The discipline is on another level,” Pogba told
    Field of Sports.

“Someone that’s been there every single day and doesn’t stop – that’s Cristiano.

“Every day! Some days you’re like, I’m ok! But he doesn’t miss one day. His discipline to do it every single day – this is something.”

Recall that Ronaldo got into the bad books of Manchester United after granting an interview with soccer pundit Piers Morgan making some uncomplimentary remarks about the club side.

The Portuguese is currently a free agent after his contract was terminated at Manchester United few days after granting the Piers Morgan Interview.

However, there are insinuations that the five time balon d’ or winner will be heading to Al Hilal in the Saudi Arabian league to continue his club career.

Paul Pogba confesses: I didn’t hire native doctor to harm Mbappe, as sibling rivalry gets messier

France and Juventus of Italy midfielder, Paul Pogba, has finally admitted to hiring a native doctor, saying the reason was to help prevent injuries plaguing his career and not to harm anybody.

Pogba added that  he paid the witch doctor some money to help prevent him from sustaining career-threatening injuries.

Pogba denies it had anything to do with international team-mate, Kylian Mbappé and says he “never intended to harm anyone”.

The player, who moved to Juventus this summer, explained to investigators working for France’s Central Office for the Fight against Organised Crime (OCLCO) that he was “looking to be protected against injury” and “also to help poor kids in Africa” he was in connection with through an aid organisation.

Two judicial sources in Paris confirmed the revelations and the transcript from interviews completed last month.
Recall that Pogba’s brother, Mathias had initially revealed that the witch doctor known as Ibrahin the Great was hired and paid to cast a spell on Mbappe.
Pogba has now denied all of that, saying that there is no iota of truth in it.

Five suspects including Mathias, have been charged with trying to blackmail Pogba out of more than £ 11 million.

They are now on remand and facing up to 20 years each in prison over a range of charges including “extortion in an organised gang”.

Pogba has been struck by injuries since re-signing for Juventus and has not played a competitive game for the Serie A side.

He is not part of the current France squad and is at real risk of failing to make the World Cup later this year.

Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias exposes Juve star from prison

Mathias Pogba, the older brother of Juventus star, Paul Pogba has returned to social media to launch a series of stunning accusations at the French international.

Mathias was arrested last week, along with four others, as part of an investigation into alleged extortion of his younger brother, who left Manchester United for Juve this summer.

He has now posted a lengthy video on social media this morning while in custody:

“If you have been reading it means that my other bot worked. Be honest with each other and banish hypocrisy so as not to experience the same tragedy. Now, here are some of the long-awaited revelations, which I hope will shed new light and lead you to understand why there is so much determination to shut me up and discredit me because what I have to say is not limited to (Kylian) Mbappé.

“But do not do this at the expense of several innocent families who risk being destroyed by a spoiled little prince, selfish, hypocritical and full of himself. Because doing so, sooner or later, will obscure and eclipse that radiance. Protect the image of France, the French team, the French world champions and to want the world championship is completely normal, because the influence for France will be immense.

“He is someone willing to use the stories of real victims to portray himself as a victim. A person ready to trample everything and everyone, his family, his pleasure, his image and his success. Those who really want to understand, just try to put themselves in my shoes considering that everything I say is true. Take the time to listen all I have to say, so you might understand what a deeply unhealthy being you are dealing with.

“It got to the point that Kylian was about to make his next PSG contract conditional on Paul going to play there. And meanwhile, behind him, Paul was doing witchcraft to sabotage these games. The same sorcerer said that he had to stop the witchcraft he was doing with Kylian at the risk of destroying his career, knowing that he had been paid for the work.”

Mathias also stated in a series of videos posted today:

“Many will be shocked and will have a hard time believing it, but it’s the truth. That’s why our family and loved ones are in danger today. My brother […] has always had criminals and delinquents around him and continues to do so today. […] The problem is that he used those relationships and their names to protect themselves on the street and do business with them to do things and shed blood for him. I was not aware of that until he betrayed his henchmen and fled without telling anyone, leaving me and our mother to our fate, leaving his family and those close to him to become the target of these bandits.”

But Mathias Pogba does not stop there: “Some of our relatives had already been attacked and shot because of him. The only reason we did not turn to the authorities was for fear of reprisals, since we had no way of protecting ourselves [. ..] I had to blame Paul for his behavior before deigning to keep our mother out of harm’s way by taking care of her and abandoning the others.

“Of course, he makes her live alone without any protection, while he is quiet in his fortress behind his bodyguards. Also, it wasn’t free. My mother had to side with him and plead on his behalf. Which she unfortunately accepted.”

  • Qatar 2022: Deschamps confident Pogba will make World Cup

Qatar 2022: Deschamps confident Pogba will make World Cup

Didier Deschamps remains confident Paul Pogba will be fit to play for France at the World Cup in spite of missing the start of the season through injury.

Pogba sustained a knee problem in pre-season after returning to Juventus from Manchester United on a free transfer.

There were early suggestions surgery could see the World Cup winner miss Qatar 2022, but he has opted instead for therapy that aims to ensure a far swifter return.

Pogba is set to again be paired with N’Golo Kante in the France midfield in November, although the Chelsea man has not been without his own injury issues in recent seasons.

“We’re talking about players who are in high demand – two players who have a big experience, leaders,” Deschamps told Le Parisien of the duo.

“It is important that they are there, but we are never safe – hence the need to prepare younger players.

“I am obviously in contact with Paul. His participation in the World Cup, today, is not questioned.”

Antoine Griezmann is another player still seen as key to Deschamps’ plans, despite scoring only three goals in LaLiga last season.

“He’s not a robot. Obviously the head controls the legs,” Deschamps explained. “But every player encounters, sooner or later, a period of playing less well.

“This translates, then, into a loss of confidence.

“Antoine has had high-intensity seasons. Before his physical issue at the beginning of the year [a thigh injury], he had always been spared from injuries during his career.

“A few months earlier, he had changed clubs. External elements may also have impacted it.

“I know him well. He has a big mind. He needed to regenerate and will do everything to return to his best level. He represents a plus for the France team.”

For now the focus is on getting France in the best condition heading into the World Cup, even as former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane continues to be linked to Deschamps’ job.

The France boss, for his part, is not worried, saying: “I’ve always put the France team above me, above everything.

“Today, the place is not free, since I occupy it with my staff. Afterwards, everyone has the freedom to say what he wants and how he wants. On me, it has no impact.

“The interest, today, for the players and the whole squad, is to be efficient at the World Cup. Anything that can defeat this common goal is not necessarily a good thing.”

  • Serie A: Real reason i joined Juventus from Man Utd – Paul Pogba

Serie A: Real reason i joined Juventus from Man Utd – Paul Pogba

The France international sealed a move back to Juventus on Monday after spending 6 years at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old failed to raise any silverware in five of his six seasons with Manchester United.

Pogba will now begin his second stint with the Serie A giants, making the move from Old Trafford for the second time in his career.

At the age of 19, Pogba opted to leave United for Juve, only to return four years later in a club-record deal worth £89million.

And his return to Old Trafford got off to a decent start, as he won the EFL Cup and Europa League in his first campaign under Jose Mourinho.

But those trophies in 2017 would be his only ones back in a United shirt. Pogba endured a difficult relationship with Mourinho and success still eluded him under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The France midfielder, however, played a pivotal role in his country’s World Cup-winning campaign in Russia in 2018.

Pogba is now back at Juventus, where he won the league title in each of his four seasons with the Italian side.

And having finally completed his move, signing a lucrative four-year contract, he told supporters that he is desperate to be in the mix for major silverware once again.

In a video posted on social media, he said: “As you can see, I’m back and I’m very happy – I can’t wait to start with you and win trophies again. We’ll be there on the pitch in the stadium, all together.”

Juventus released a statement after Pogba’s return was confirmed. It read: “When we say goodbye after an intense adventure shared, there is always a glimmer of hope that we will see each other again, sooner or later.
