    Ekiti Guber: PDP guber candidate, Kolawole wins polling unit

    Bisi Kolawole, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won his polling unit with 98 out of 116 accredited votes.

    The All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 13 votes while Social Democratic Party (SDP) had two votes. Labour Party (LP) recorded one vote. Two votes were voided.

    Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Electoral Officer, had said that a total number of 322 voters were registered but116 were accredited.
    Speaking to journalists after the result was announced, Kolawole, who lamented voters’ apathy, said he was happy to deliver his polling unit with a landslide victory.

    He said he was hopeful of winning the election at the end of the day.

    #AnambraDecides2021: APC’s Andy Uba wins polling unit

    The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Andy Uba, has won his polling unit in the ongoing Anambra governorship election.

    INEC officials, who announced the results on Saturday, said Uba had 80 votes in Ward 16, Polling Unit 17 in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area.

    The flagbearer of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chukwuma Soludo, scored 10 votes while the candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Ifeanyi Uba, polled five votes.

    Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got two votes.

    Before now, INEC had extended the voting time for the election to 4:00 pm on Saturday following challenges with the accreditation of voters.

    In a statement, the commission explained that those who are on the queue by 4:00 pm will be allowed to cast their ballot in the race to pick Governor Willie Obiano’s successor.

    “The extension of time arose out of several field reports that voters have had problems with accreditation,” INEC said.

    “The Commission is currently investigating the reason the accreditation devices, Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), have worked perfectly in some Polling Units, but not in others.”

    [#OndoDecides2020] BREAKING: ZLP candidate, Ajayi wins polling unit

    Ondo State Deputy Governor and the governorship candidate of Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi, has won his polling unit in Kiribo in the Ese Odo Local Government area.

    According to the result pasted at the unit by the officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, titled, ‘Publication of Result of Poll’, Agboola won the Apoi Ward II, Unit 004, Idumado Quarters, Kiribo with a wide margin having garnered 395 votes.

    His closest contestant, Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress flagbearer, Rotimi Akeredolu, scored 13 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, secured five votes.

    Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the ongoing Ondo governorship election has won his polling unit.

    TheNewsGuru.com, TNG earlier reported that Mr Jegede kept watch after casting his votes to resist any form of possible manipulations.

    He polled 220 votes to defeat Akeredolu of the APC who scored 60 and Agboola who polled seven votes.

    Jegede voted at Unit 009, Ward 2, Akure LG located inside Sacred Heart Primary School, Cathedral area of Akure.

    At the second unit in the primary school, Jegede polled 158 votes to defeat APC candidate who polled 43 and ZLP candidate Ajayi Agboola who polled four votes.

    Eyitayo Jegede, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has refused to leave his polling unit nearly three hours after he voted in #OndoDecides2020.

    Jegede who arrived before 9am at the polling unit 9 at his ward 1, at Gbogi/Isokan Sacred Heart Primary School, Akure.

    He stood on the queue alongside Enoh, his wife for over two hours before he cast his vote, after polling officers rectified the malfunctioning card reader.

    However, it was gathered that after he returned home, he got information that some security operatives came to his polling unit and asked everyone to leave.

    This was after voting had ended and some of the voters were waiting for the official 2.30 pm end of voting time to begin the counting of the ballots.

    Some of the voters alerted Jegede whose house is just few metres away from the polling unit out of fear that the police action may be a plot to substitute the already cast ballots.

    Jegede rushed back to the polling unit and he has been sitting in front of one of the classrooms waiting for the commencement of counting of the votes.

    Heavy rain has disrupted voting at the polling unit of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede.

    Jegede and others hid themselves as the rain poured out in torrent at polling unit 009, ward Gbogi/Isinkan 1, Akure South LGA.

    There’s generally an atmosphere of peace as no major security lapse has been reported.

    The electorates defiled the early morning rains to cast their votes.

    #EdoDecides2020: PDP defeats APC in Oyegun’s polling unit

    Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday won in the polling unit of former National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

    Obaseki polled 109 votes to defeat Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the APC who garnered 40 votes.

    TheNewsGuru.com, TNG reports that former APC national chairman had refused to endorse Ize-Iyamu in the buildup to the election. He however asked electorates to vote their conscience.

    Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won his polling unit in Oredo Ward 4, Unit 19.

    Obaseki polled 184 votes while Osagie Ize-Iyamu of All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 62 votes at the unit.

    In Unit 21, PDP got 53 votes while the APC polled 33 votes.

    Obaseki’s PDP polled 70 votes but Ize-Iyamu’s APC got 65 votes. In Unit 23, it was PDP 101, APC 32.

    In Unit 24 of the same Oredo Ward 4, PDP won with 94 votes, while the APC got 50 votes.

    In Unit 25, the PDP got 33 votes ahead of the APC that had 22 votes.

    Result from the ward, Unit 26 shows that APC garnered 40 votes while the PDP got 98 votes.

    In Unit 7, it is the PDP, 93 votes, APC 28 votes, while in Unit 28, it is PDP, 77 votes and APC, 39 votes.

    According to reports, voting ended in most of the areas at 2.30 pm.

    Senatorial Rerun: Heavy security presence at Akpabio’s polling unit

    There was heavy security presence at Independence High School, Ukana West, Essien Udim, the polling unit of the Niger Delta affairs minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio during the rerun election in the area.

    Akpabio and his party, the All Progressives Congress(APC) had Friday withdrawn from the rerun citing irregularities by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) led by its resident electoral commissioner in the state, Mr. Mike Igini’s.

    However, despite the withdrawal, there was palpable tension at Akpabio’s polling unit as heavily armed security operatives and armed thugs barred journalists and persons without permanent voters card(PVC) from passing through the gate of the school.

    According to reports, voting was going on in the three polling units located within the premises of the Independence High School, Ukana West.

    There was a general low turnout of voters for the rerun.

    People’s Democratic Party stalwart and Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Prince Ukpong Akpabio said he called for the deployment of security personnel because of the plan by the APC to hijack election materials.

    Voting also went on smoothly at Ukana Uwa East which has 2 polling units.

    Osinbajo wins polling unit for APC

    The gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has been declared winner in polling unit 033 in VGC where Vice President Yemi Osinbajo voted today.

    The APC candidate polled 223 votes to defeat his main challenger, Jimi Agbaje, of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 176 votes.

    Also in the state house of assembly votes, APC (193 votes) defeated the PDP (155 votes).

    This is a departure from the presidential and national assembly elections where the PDP won in the two polling units in VGC two weeks ago.
