Just in: Court rejects suit against Fani-Kayode’s by his estranged wife

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory on Friday rejected service of court processes served on former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, in the suit instituted against him by his ex-wife and former beauty pageant, Precious Chikwendu.

The decision followed the doubt in the mind of the court as to whether personal service was actually effected on the politician as required by law.

Also, the trial court held that the affidavit of service deposed to by the court bailiff was very clear that he did not see the former Minister personally when he took the process to his Abuja residence.

Although Justice Slyvester Oriji held that there was proof before the court that the respondent was actually in receipt of the court summons, there is no evidence that he was personally served by the bailiff as required by the rules of court.

“The text message from the respondent to the applicant, which reads in part: “I received your summons, we shall meet in court” proves the fact that he has actually received service,” the judge said.

He, however, stated that the police will investigate whether the acknowledgement containing the endorsement with the name of the respondent was actually forged or not.

“The issue of whether the respondent actually signed the document or any other person signed on his behalf is subject of investigation by police and the court cannot make any findings on it.”

“I need to point out that the bailiff did not see the respondent personally as contained in his affidavit of service. Bailiff should have insisted to see him personally and if that was not possible, he could have returned the process to the court.

“In the light of the doubt cast on personal service of the process on the respondent, it is proper to set it aside. The purported service is hereby set aside”, Justice Oriji ruled.

The court, however, refused the prayer made by counsel to the respondent, Adeola Adedipe, for the striking out of the suit.

He ruled that the action cannot be invalidated by reason of non-personal service on the respondent.

Fani-Kayode fires back at estranged wife, claims she’s a pathological liar

Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has debunked allegations that he violently abused Precious Chikwendu, his estranged wife, before their marriage hit the rock

He spoke in a statement issued through Oladimeji Olaiya, his media aide, on Saturday.

The ex-minister was reacting to allegations made by Chikwendu via a court affidavit where she made allegations of domestic abuse against him.

In his statement, Fani-Kayode said: “The statement of claim and affidavit filed in court by one Precious Chikwendu against Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is filled with lies and falsehood. Not one thing that she has alleged there is true.

“She is a pathological liar and a slanderer and we intend to prove this in court. We also believe that she is unfit to be a mother and that she has shown nothing but cruelty to her children whom she has never taken care of.

“We believe that the children’s lives would be in danger if they are with her and we shall prove this in court.

“For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did Fani-Kayode expose his children to danger. He provided them with the best of care including 12 nannies and nurses who did all the work even when their mother was in the house.

“Chikwendu’s only pastime was to post pictures and words on Instagram and sleep with men outside. She also tried to seduce a number of Chief Fani-Kayode’s friends when he was in detention and extort money from them.

“Neither is it true that she was beaten by Chief Fani-Kayode or anyone else in his staff and security team, either when she was pregnant or not. It is not true she was subjected to any form of physical or mental abuse from them.”

TheNewsGuru recalls that Fani-Kayode had earlier stated that he once caught the estranged wife having an affair with a married man.

Sharing his thoughts on the issue, he said: “She and her lover begged not to be prosecuted for adultery after there was evidence to show they were planning to have Fani-Kayode murdered. At a later date, she was committed to a mental health facility for one month.

“We urge members of the public to wait until the truth is revealed about Chikwendu, her mental and physical abuse of her own children, her mental illness, her numerous attempts to murder Chief Fani-Kayode and his four children.

“Her adulterous ways, her unfathomable cruelty, her gold-digging ways, her violence and so much more before they make up their minds. All this, with the necessary evidence, will be produced in court.

“The only reason Chikwendu has not seen her children for close to seven months is that she has refused to come to the house to do so. She was given access 7 months ago and visitation rights but she refused to exercise them.

“Chikwendu claims that she was stripped and drugged. This is not true. Rather she was held down by a contingent of 4 policemen and policewomen in the presence and under the orders of the DPO of Asokoro police Station.

“And in the presence of her Aunty Joy and at least 30 frightened and agitated officers, workers and members of the household and family after which she was sedated with injection by a Dr. from the psychiatric hospital.

“This was after she attacked her husband and children with two knives and attempted to kill them. She held them hostage upstairs in their rooms for three hours whilst in a drunken craze and threatening to kill everyone.”

Fani-Kayode’s estranged wife turns to God amid marital crisis

Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister, has taken to her Instagram page to share a bible verse amid the crisis rocking her marriage.

TheNewsGuru recalls that on Thursday, reports had surfaced that Fani-Kayode split with Chikwendu, a mother of three, after six years of marriage.

At about the same time when news of her separation from the ex-minister flooded the public domain, Chikwendu appeared to have turned to God for consolation.

The ex-beauty queen took to her Instagram page on Thursday evening to share a beautiful photo of her alongside a scriptural message — in what seemed to be a consolatory post.

In the cryptic post, she embraced quotes from Psalm 126:1-3 which talked about great things that happened after the “Lord turned again the captivity of Zion”.

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter,” she wrote without speaking on the divorce.

“And our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”

In the same vein Okey Onyemachi, Precious’ uncle, had debunked claims of domestic violence occurring between the estranged couple.

“I’m only aware of when she had to pull the knife. She videotaped it, and was making all sorts of comments and allegations. I felt it was when she had a swing,” he had said.

“The police came, they tried and pleaded. The testimony I got that made me leave Owerri, where I stay, for Abuja was that efforts were made by the female police officer who led the team.

“They persuaded her to calm down. She was shouting. We had to go back to get a reinforcement. There was a doctor who also came and tried to assist in various ways until she was gotten down.

“Hefty men were brought. She tried to stab those who came, including my sister and Femi himself. Certain statements were being made, false allegations of someone wanting to set up some things.”

Divorce: God has freed me from captivity, FFK’s ex-wife speaks

Precious Chikwendu, estranged wife of politician and lawyer, Femi Fani-Kayode has given a cryptic response to news about her failed marriage.

On her Instagram page on Thursday, the former Miss United Nations quoted Psalm 126 Verse1 -3 of the Bible:

When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

From the post, it was obvious she expressed joy that she was free from some bondage of sorts.

=News of the marriage breakup came into the public space on Thursday.

Reports said Precious quit the relationship over domestic violence.

Her family members told Premium Times that she quit over some lingering illness.

This does not, appear to make sense, as that should bring them together, more as a couple.

Fani-Kayode has denied he abused Precious and has even asked his lawyer to demand a retraction from a blogger, who broke the story of the separation.

Precious who is 31, married Fani-Kayode in 2014. The marriage is blessed with four children, including a set of triplets.

Known on Instagram as ‘Snowhiteey’, Precious also runs a Snowhite Pure Heart Foundation.
