    Fashion entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani and club owner, Pretty Mike are individuals who often stir controversies on social media.

    Weeks back the duo undressed to promote a product on Instagram. This sparked negative reactions with many condemning the provocative display of their nudity.

    In a chat with Media Room Hub, Lawani said most of what she did in the controversial raunchy shoot was largely edited.

    “The pictures I post are usually edited. I am not always naked in them. So, you can’t compare me trying to do a skin shoot to actually going naked on TV. How much are you going to pay me now? I will never do that.

    “I actually agree that I’m a drama queen due to my style and creativity. But I’m not stupidly dramatic, I’m being dramatic out of hard work. My recent shoot with Mike was a professional shoot. To be honest, most of it was edited. Our private parts were not even touching at all. So I don’t even care what anyone has to say. I was paid to do a job and I did it. We are only trying to change the narrative”.

    Asked why she goes nude on social media, the award-winning fashion stylist said : “I make people embrace all these things because it’s part of our work at the end of the day. If you are selling lingerie or you have a lingerie line, how do you promote it? You wear them, you wear bikinis if that’s what you sell. Same with skin line, I have a skin care solution called “Tiannah‘s Glow” and how do I show you that my skin is nice? So, I have to embrace my sensuality, beautiful skin and all. Those pictures they talk about have secured loads of jobs for me both locally and internationally. I’m sexy, I‘m not going to take my body to heaven so why not?”

    Pretty Mike who has a history of putting women on leash and attending events with half-naked women, has revealed that the girls he engage in such stunts with are usually happy about it.
    According to the Lagos socialite, he is not taking advantage of such girls as they are rewarded after each event they turn up for.
    “People think I take advantage of girls, but trust me; those girls are happy and see it as a privilege to go out with me for stunts, because at the end of the day, their palms are heavily greased. What the social media and society paint and reality are two different things,” he told sunnewsonline.
    Pretty Mike further revealed that his parents and family members, are his biggest supporters in all the stunts he pulls on social media.
    “My parents and family are my biggest supporters. My father would say ‘the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’. Sometimes when he sees me pull some stunts, he’ll tell me that he had wanted to pull that same stunt thirty years ago. When I took dwarfs who had calabashes with smoke coming out of them with me to a friend’s wedding, people said I was a ritualist, but my dad called me and said why did I take only three or four dwarfs? He said next time I should take masquerades along with me. And I thought that’s not a bad idea. When people get to know that there is no ulterior motive behind my stunts, we’ll be good,” he added.

    Nigerian writer, Olutimehin Adegbeye has accused popular club owner, Pretty Mike of rape.
    Olutimehin made this known via her Twitter handle. She recounted that Pretty Mike allegedly raped her at the age of 16.
    According to her: “By the way, the unnamed rapist in my nonfiction piece that won the Gerald Kraak prize is Pretty Mike of Club Q, opposite Oshoppey Plaza, Ikeja. Not long after the rape, my brother confronted him. His response was essentially “guy, you know how it is now.
    “Mike knew that I was a minor and that I had never had sex. He locked me in a house one afternoon after school and raped me anyway. The rape was so violent that I got a phantom period – cramps and bleeding for almost two days, even though my period wasn’t due yet.
    “But according to him, I’m just an attention seeker with over 2 million views on my TED talk. I want to use his name for fame, since it is utterly irrelevant that I have been and continue to be invited into and create spaces he could never dream of. Trolololololololol.
    “I mean, he’s a man and I’m a woman. So all of that makes perfect sense”.

We are in the era of social media and if you pay close attention, something drastic has to happen to get the attention of people on social media.
