Prince Harry reveals main reason for leaving Britain

Prince Harry said a large part of the reason he and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, left England for a life in the United States was racism in Britain.

In new footage aired on Monday from the interview on U.S. television network CBS, Oprah Winfrey asked if the couple left because of racism, the prince replied: “It was a large part of it.’’

He added that he was urged by an unnamed person at a fundraiser for his charity Sentebale to not do this with the media as they will destroy your life.

The prince said he was told “You need to understand that the UK is very bigoted,’’ to which he replied “The UK is not bigoted, the UK press is bigoted, specifically the tabloids.’’

Harry added, “But unfortunately if the source of info is inherently corrupt or racist or biased then that filters out to the rest of society.’’

Why I contemplated suicide after marrying Prince Harry – Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle told Oprah Winfrey in an interview on Sunday night that she contemplated suicide during her time as a working royal.

“You were having suicidal thoughts?” Oprah asked during the two-hour interview.

“Yes. It was very clear and very scary,” Meghan said in heartbreaking admission. “I just didn’t see a solution.”

“Look, I was really ashamed to have to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, because I know how much loss he’s suffered,” Meghan said. “But I knew that if I didn’t say that I would do it … and I just didn’t ― I just didn’t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought.”

“I remember how [Harry] just cradled me. I went to the institution. And I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. And I said that I’d never felt this way before. I need to go somewhere. And I was told that I couldn’t, because it wouldn’t be good for the institution.”

Meghan clarified that when she said “the institution,” she was referring to several people and that, when she was feeling suicidal, she went to one of the most senior people for help.

“I share this because there’s so many people who are afraid to voice that they need help. And I know personally how hard it is to not just voice it, but when you voice it to be told no. And so I went to human resources. And I said ‘I need help,’” the duchess said, adding, “because at my old job there was a union and they would protect me.”

“They said, ‘My heart goes out to you because I see how bad it is. But there’s nothing we can do to protect you because you’re not a paid employee.’”

Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are expecting their second child, the couple revealed in a Valentine’s Day announcement, the first senior royal due to be born outside Britain in 100 years.

The couple released a black and white image of themselves under a tree, all smiles, with Markle holding her baby bump.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” the spokesman said, referring to the couple’s son. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

Meghan and Harry, who is Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson, quit frontline royal duties in March last year and now live in California.

The baby will be “something of a first” for the immediate royal family because it will have US and British citizenship and is likely to be the first to be born outside of Britain since Prince Philip 100 years ago.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, and the entire family are delighted and wish them well.”

The photograph was taken by friend of the couple Misan Harriman. In a tweet addressed to Meghan, she said: “Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!”

Grief as Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle loses second child

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, writing about the loses she shares with Prince Harry has revealed she suffered a miscarriage earlier in the year.

She revealed this in the writing published in the New York Times on Wednesday, saying the miscarriage happened in July this year.

In the piece, the 39-year-old wrote that she had just changed her son’s diaper when she felt a sharp cramp and fell to the ground.

“I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second,” she wrote.

Writing of the “unbearable grief” of miscarrying a child, Markle said it was a conversation that remained “taboo, riddled with (unwarranted) shame, and perpetuating a cycle of solitary mourning.”

She wrote: “It was a July morning that began as ordinarily as any other day: Make breakfast. Feed the dogs. Take vitamins. Find that missing sock. Pick up the rogue crayon that rolled under the table. Throw my hair in a ponytail before getting my son from his crib.

“After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right.

“I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second. Hours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand”

The Duchess of Sussex, who married the British Prince in 2018, had the couple’s first child, Archie, the following year.

Trump denies Harry, Meghan security protection over ‘love’ for Queen

President Donald Trump has said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must pay for their security protection in the U.S. after the lovers left Canada for the country.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports President Trump stated this on Sunday, stressing that he is a great friend and admirer of the Queen and the United Kingdom (UK).

Recall that Harry and Meghan who got married on 19 May 2018, in January 2020, announced that they were stepping back from their role as senior members of the royal family.

The lovebirds, who said they would balance their time between the UK and North America, recently left Canada for the US.

Trump said for the love he has for the Queen, Harry and Meghan would have to pay for security protection to live in the U.S.

“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada.

“Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!” Trump said.

Prince drops royal title upon return to UK

The duke of Sussex has said he would love to be addressed simply as “Harry” — ahead of March 31, when he and Meghan Markle, his wife, will officially split from the royal family.

Harry was speaking on Wednesday at the Travalyst event at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in Scotland, a country in the United Kingdom, while embarking on his final round of engagements as a senior working royal.

During the launch of the eco-friendly travel agent firm, he asked to be addressed by his name rather than his royal title.

“He’s made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry. So ladies and gentlemen, please give a big, warm, Scottish welcome to Harry,” Ayesha Hazarika, the event host, said while inviting him to the stage.

The 35-year-old’s speech focused largely on how to rejig global tourism while canvassing the need to emulate the Scotland model.

“Scotland is one of the fastest growing tourism destinations worldwide and it’s at the forefront of a more sustainable approach, which is why your insight into these issues is so incredibly valuable,” he said.

This will be the first time Harry will be visiting the UK after leaving for Canada on January 20, following a summit with the Queen.

The duke of Sussex and his wife will be officially stepping down from their royal duties in less than five weeks.

Meghan had recently asserted that there was “nothing legally stopping” them from using their Sussex royal name.

Prince Harry meets African leaders in London

Britain’s Prince Harry attended a summit for leaders of 21 African countries in London hosted by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday.

This happened the day after he spoke of his sadness that he would shortly be giving up royal duties.

Harry said on Sunday that there was no option but for him and his American wife Meghan to step back from their royal roles in a deal with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth and senior Windsors that would allow them a more independent future.

The new arrangement, which will see them split their time between Britain and North America where they will be mainly based, is due to come into effect in the Spring of this year.

In the meantime, Harry will continue with official duties and on Monday met the presidents of Malawi and Mozambique and the prime minister of Morocco at the African investment summit.

Buckingham Palace said that the prince, who visited Malawi and other African countries in October 2018 in what is set to be his last official overseas tour, has been heavily involved in causes in Africa for many years and his love for the continent was well-known.

His high-profile speech on Sunday was made at an event for Sentebale, a charity he co-founded which helps children affected by HIV in Africa.

At the summit, Johnson called for deeper investment ties between Britain and Africa, as part of a drive to develop trade ties after the UK leaves the EU at the end of the month.

Johnson called for Britain to be the “investment partner of choice” for Africa.

Buckingham Palace and the queen announced on Saturday that Harry and Meghan would no longer be working members of Britain’s monarchy, and no longer use their “Royal Highness” titles.

And also they would now pay their own way in life, freeing them to forge what they call a “progressive new role”.

The new arrangement was struck to end a crisis the couple sparked by announcing earlier this month they wanted to cut down on official engagements and spend more time in Canada and the U.S., while remaining active royals.

In a speech to the Sentebale charity on Sunday, a clearly upset Harry said that the final outcome was not what he and his American wife, a former actress, had wanted.

“Our hope was to continue serving the queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations without public funding.

“Sadly that wasn’t possible,” the prince, the sixth-in-line to the throne, said.

“I’ve accepted this knowing it doesn’t change who I am, or how committed I am.

“But I hope that helps you understand what it had come to, that I would step back from all I have ever known to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.”

Under the arrangement, Harry will remain a prince and the couple will keep their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they begin a new life split between Britain and North America, where they will spend the majority of their time.

But they will not take part in any future ceremonial events or royal tours.

Harry expresses ‘great sadness’ at royal split

Prince Harry has stated that he and Meghan, his wife, felt they had “no other option” but to step down from their royal family duties.

The duke of Sussex made this known on Sunday evening, while delivering his first public speech — since they stepped back from being senior royals at a private reception for the charity Sentebale, in London, where he is patron.

Recall that Buckingham Palace had on Saturday declared that Harry and his wife would give up their royal titles and would not represent the Queen as working members of the royal family.

The Queen had termed the move as “a constructive and supportive way forward to support” him and his family.

In the speech, Harry said the final outcome contradicts his family’s earlier motive of “stepping back” from royal duties, adding that “it brings me great sadness that it has come to this.”

“Our hope was to continue serving the queen, the Commonwealth and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible,” he said.

“For those reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this. The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always got it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”

Harry also blamed their withdrawal from royal duties on media’s constant clampdown since Princess Diana, his late mother, died in an accident years ago.

“When I lost my mum 23 years ago, you took me under your wing,” he said.

“You looked out for me for so long, but the media is a powerful force. And my hope is one day our collective support for each other can be more powerful, because this is so much bigger than just us.”

Prince Harry breaks silence on stepping back from royal duties in emotional speech

Prince Harry spoke for the first time Sunday night after he and his wife made the shock announcement they were stepping back from royal duties and the Queen subsequently stripped them of the Royal Highness title.

He spoke at a charity dinner at Ivy Chelsea Garden in west London, in aid of his organisation, Sentebale, saying the UK will always be his home no matter what.

“I want you to hear the truth from me, as much as I can share – not as a Prince, or a Duke, but as Harry, the same person that many of you have watched grow up over the past 35 years – but with a clearer perspective.

“The UK is my home and a place that I love. That will never change.

“I watched as you welcomed Meghan with open arms as you saw me find the love and happiness that I had hoped for all my life.

“I know you’ve come to know me well enough to trust that the woman I chose as my wife upholds the same values as I do, and she does.

“Once Meghan and I were married, we were excited, we were hopeful, and we were here to serve.

“For those reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this

“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly. It was months of talks after years of challenges.

“I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there was no other option.

“What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away. Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately that wasn’t possible.

“I hope it helps you understand what it had come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.

“I was born into this life, and it is an honour to serve my country and the Queen.”

According to a report by Daily Star, Harry added that he hoped the plans would help him, Meghan and Archie, their son have a more peaceful life.

  • Harry, Meghan’s royal step back is ‘sad’ – Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said the decision by Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan to step back from royal duties was “sad.”

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, who is Harry’s grandmother, was reportedly not consulted before the pair announced their decision to seek a lower profile, build financial independence and divide their time between Britain and North America.

“I don’t want to get into the whole thing. I just have such respect for the Queen I don’t think this should be happening to her,” Trump added in an interview with Fox News that was partially aired on Friday.

The couple said they plan to restrict media access and withdraw from a rota system for press coverage of the royal family.

Buckingham Palace said discussions were ongoing with the couple, who are officially known as the duke and duchess of Sussex.

The surprise announcement came after they had denounced intrusive and inaccurate media reporting, as well as the vitriol directed toward them on social media, including racist attacks against U.S.-born Meghan, whose mother is black.

In an interview last year with the British newspaper The Sun, Trump called Meghan “nasty” after finding out that she did not support his election.
