    The police were called into the house of Barbadian singer, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, on Thursday, March 23, after a man showed up to propose to the music star.

    Rihanna knows that she has a lot of crazy fans out there, but she definitely did not see this one coming.

    Security officials said the man traveled from South Carolina, and walked up to Rihanna’s home on Thursday where he faced her security.

    After the man revealed he was there to propose to the mom-of-1, Rihanna’s team called the cops right away.

    When officers arrived, they put the man in handcuffs, got him in a car, and had a severe chat about his intentions.

    It was further revealed that though the man, who was dressed in a red Nike hoodie, had not broken any laws; he was asked to leave and told not to return.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Rihanna owns a $14 million penthouse in Lower Manhattan. She also purchased a house in West London for £7 million in June 2018, to be closer to her work with her FENTY fashion label.

    In December 2018, the Barbadian singer put her Hollywood Hills mansion up for sale after a break-in six months before. The mansion was reported to have sold for $10.4m. Forbes began reporting on Rihanna’s earnings in 2012.

    Rihanna began dating American singer Chris Brown in 2007. After their relationship ended in February 2009, she entered an on-again, off-again relationship with Canadian rapper Drake, which lasted from 2009 to 2016.

    During an interview with Rolling Stone in January 2013, Rihanna confirmed that she had rekindled her relationship with Brown, although he remained under probation for their 2009 domestic violence case.

    Their reunion followed persistent media speculation that occurred throughout 2012. In May 2013, Brown stated during an interview that he and Rihanna had broken up again.

    In 2017, the Barbadian singer began dating Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel. They split in January 2020.

    On May 19, 2021, American rapper ASAP Rocky confirmed during an interview with GQ that he and Rihanna were in a relationship.

    On January 31, 2022, it was revealed that the couple was expecting their first child. On May 19, 2022, it was confirmed that Rihanna had given birth to a son.

    On February 12, 2023, during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show performance, Rihanna revealed she is pregnant with her second child, becoming the first person to headline a Super Bowl halftime show while pregnant.

    The pregnancy was confirmed in a British Vogue cover story featuring her family, which was released days after the Super Bowl appearance.

    The OAP surprised her boo at Shop Rite where she waited at the entrance on her knees with a ring.

    Her boo who was caught off guard with the proposal, accepted the ring.

    Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Oputa better known as Charly Boy, has again proposed to Diane, his wife, in what he said to be the “fourth time in 45 years”.

    The outspoken musician took to his social media pages to share a video of himself reiterating his love for Diane, who is better known as Lady D.

    In the footage taken inside a mall, Charly Boy is seen grasping a microphone to gather the attention of other shoppers.

    He then brings out a ring while kneeling down to propose to his wife, who appears apparently surprised by the gesture.

    After a short pause, Diane accepts the ring while the lovebirds embrace each other amid cheers from people gathered inside the mall.

    In a post following the video, the 70-year-old revealed that the development makes it the fourth time he would be proposing to his wife in their over four decades of being together.

    “See what my wife made me do again? I need to go my village to investigate my mumuness for dis woman hand. My faithful followers make una dey pray for meooo,” he wrote on Instagram in a mixture of Pidgin and English.

    “How can one propose to the same woman 4 times in 45 years. Dis tin no empty hand sha.”

    The singer, however, gave differing reports on the time they have been together. On Instagram, he said 45 while on Twitter, Charly Boy wrote 43.

    Germany rejects Trump’s proposal to invite Russia into G7

    Germany has rejected a proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin back into the Group of Seven (G7) most advanced economies, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said in a newspaper interview published today.

    Trump raised the prospect last month of expanding the G7 to again include Russia, which had been expelled in 2014 following Moscow’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea region.

    But Maas told Rheinische Post that he did not see any chance for allowing Russia back into the G7 as long as there was no meaningful progress in solving the conflict in Crimea as well as in eastern Ukraine.

    Russia itself could make the biggest contribution to becoming part of the G7 format again by contributing to a peaceful solution in the Ukraine conflict, Maas said.

    Russia is still part of the G20, a broader grouping including other emerging-market economies.

    “G7 and G20 are two sensibly coordinated formats. We don’t need G11 or G12 anymore,” Maas said in reference to Trump’s proposal to invite not only Russia, but other countries to G7 meetings.

    Maas described the relationship with Russia as “currently difficult” in many areas.

    “But we also know that we need Russia to solve conflicts such as those in Syria, Libya and Ukraine. That will not work against Russia, but only with Russia.”

    Germany, which took over the rotating six-month EU presidency on July 1, has taken on a mediating role in the conflict in Libya as well as in Ukraine.

    “But Russia also has to make its contribution, which is very slow in Ukraine,” Maas said.

    A man has drowned attempting to propose to his girlfriend underwater during their “once-in-a-lifetime” holiday.

    Steven Weber dived into the ocean to pop the question to Kenesha Antoine through the window of their submerged cabin in Tanzania.

    Video footage shows Mr Weber pressing a piece of paper against the glass with the message: “Will you please be my wife?”

    He then opened a ring box before swimming up out of view towards the surface.

    Ms Antoine, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, posted the film on Facebook on Friday morning with her response: ”Yes! Yes! Yes!”

    However a few hours later she revealed that he “never emerged from those depths” to hear her answer.

    “We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruellest twist of fate imaginable,” she wrote.

    “I will try to take solace in the fact that we enjoyed the most amazing bucket list experiences these past few days, and that we both were so happy and absolutely giddy with excitement in our final moments together.”

    Ms Antoine, a lawyer, added: “You were a bright light to everyone you encountered.
    You never met a stranger, and you brought so much joy to so many people. You were kind, compassionate, you regularly made me cry with laughter, and you showered me with a love like none I’d ever experienced.”

    She also wrote that a few days earlier he had described the holiday as a “once in a once-in-a-lifetime thing that people want to experience before they die”.

    “I will find you and marry you in the next lifetime, and the next, and the next, and the next,” added Ms Antoine. ”I love you so much, and I always will.”

    The couple were staying at a resort on Pemba Island off the coast of East Africa.
    An official at the US Department of State said they were aware of the death of a US citizen in Tanzania.

    “We offer our sincerest condolences to the family on their loss,” a spokesperson said.

    “We stand ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance.”

    The month of love is here and as usual, couples will spend February 14 showing their partners how much they love them in many ways- from chocolates, roses, and gifts to romantic dinners and for some ladies, the day will end with a proposal bling on their third/fourth left finger.

    So how easy is it to propose to the love of your life ‘on the most romantic’ day of the year without dropping a hint and losing the element of surprise?

    So here’s the thing about marriage proposals: You’re with the girl of your dreams and you cannot imagine spending the rest of your life without her, chances are she feels the same way too. If you’re in a the place in your relationship where you both are obviously nuts about each other and have had more than one real conversation about your future together, pulling off a surprise proposal any day of the year, let alone on Valentine’s day can be tricky.

    Valentine’s day can be a good day to pop the question but this can turn super cheesy if it isn’t done properly. If you feel that February 14 is the perfect day to pop the question, know that it’s still possible to ask her to be your wife in a way that she won’t see coming.

     

    Surprise her with a morning proposal
    We’re flipping the script here. Most proposal stories you’ve heard about or seen in movies happen over dinner, while out on an evening date, or even during a casual night at home. A morning proposal will most definitely be a most pleasant surprise plus what better way to start the day if you already have proposal plans. You both can celebrate the evening with a dinner date in or out of the house.

    Feign ignorance about Vals day
    This will work if Vals day is more of a low-key thing for you two. Set the stage by acting like it’s any other day—until, suddenly, it’s not! Just remember that this setup works best at home. Throwing a surprise proposal at mystery destinations is sure to raise her suspicions and you don’t want her suspecting what is about to go down.

    Make her believe you’re not in town
    If you travel often for work, surprise her by coming home a day or days before your scheduled time. When she sees that you’re home, she’ll likely utter some kind of happy, but confused, exclamation (“You’re home! I thought you were gone until Friday?!”). That’s your cue. Capitalize on that moment of surprise and launch straight into the proposal. It’s sure to be a Valentine’s Day to remember!

    Here are a few Do’s and Don’t to keep in mind

    Keep the element of surprise. Even though a lot of women expect a proposal on Valentine’s day, don’t make it so obvious you’re going to pop the question. Do something to throw her off. For instance, tell her you have a romantic dinner reservation at 7 but instead, right as you are about to leave a band holding candles appears in your front yard and serenades her with your song as a couple.

    Think about how she would want to look on the day she gets proposed to. Is your girl the kind that has always imagined being all glam wearing her favourite dress when she gets asked to be yours forever, get creative and get her to look that way. As a photographer would be on hand to captured the YES moment, you don’t want her feeling disappointed looking back at the photos weeks or months after the proposal day.

    Enlist the help of others. While hiring a proposal planner might seem too fancy, having someone that will help you take care of details will ensure that you can enjoy your valentine’s day stress-free. If you’re not taking the planner route just get a friend who is organised to help.

    Document the proposal. In this age of social media and likes, hiring a photographer is a no brainer. If your girlfriend is the type that loves to share photos Facebook and Instagram then it’s important to capture the moment on tape.

    Don’ts

    Propose at an expected time. Again, throwing her off is important so the last thing you want to do is to propose over dinner or some other obvious time. Don’t do anything predictable like have a waiter bring your ring out on a tray or anything predictable. The element of surprise is a must, especially on Valentine’s Day.

    Propose in a creepy way. Proposals should be pleasant, period. Don’t fake a heart attack, faint or send news of you being involved in a freak accident.

    Hide the ring in a ridiculous place. This includes but is not limited to; in a champagne glass, in a cupcake, in a box of chocolates and last but not least, somewhere you can lose it or easily forget about it.

    Be afraid to be emotional. So society is still not used to seeing men cry when they declare their love for their woman. It’s OK to cry especially when telling your girlfriend all of the reasons why you can’t live without her. Your emotion will make it even more endearing.

    Have expectations for how she will react. Many women react differently when they get proposed to. Some laugh, some cry, some scream, some even curse! Don’t feel bad if you don’t get the kind of reaction you thought you would. Just go with the flow and let her emotion come naturally.

  • Taraba presents 2018 budget proposal of N96.5bn to legislature

    Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba on Thursday presented a budget proposal of N96.5 billion to the state legislature for 2018 fiscal year.

    While laying the estimates before the legislators in Jalingo, Ishaku explained that the budget proposal was about 12 per cent lower than the estimate for 2017 when the state budgeted N110.1 billion.

    He said that N41.2 billion of the budget proposal was for recurrent expenditure, while the balance of about N45.3 billion was for capital expenditure.

    Ishaku, who tagged the proposal as “Budget of Sustainable Growth”, said that the budget would be funded from Internally Generated Revenue of N5.3 billion, Federal Allocation of N31.5 billion and Value Added Tax (VAT) of N9.2 billion.

    Other sources include Aids and Grants – N4.8 billion, Refunds from Federal Government of over N30 billion, Domestic Loans of N11.4 billion and
    external loans of N4.2 billion.

    He appealed to members to process the budget proposal speedily for early passage.

    The Speaker of the House. Mr Abel Diah, commended the governor on the level of implementation of the 2017 budget

    He also commended the people-oriented projects carried out by the administration across the state in the outgoing year.

    Diah assured the governor of the readiness of the assembly to cooperative with the executive to improve the lots of the people.
