    Why I want my husband to propose to me again- Omoni Oboli

    Popular actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli has said that her husband, Nnamdi Oboli needs to propose to her again.

    The award winning actress noted that the proposal he did before they got married wasn’t romantic enough.

    Oboli made this known in a chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

    “I want my husband to propose to me again. I will not agree.Nnamdi if you are watching, you have to propose all over again. That one, I was young and it wasn’t romantic”.

    Speaking further, the award winning role interpreter who is married to a medical practitioner said her hubby didn’t propose in the usual way.

    “When we talk, he will always say things like ‘When we get married, our children, I told him, I don’t like assumptions. What is all these when we get married? I asked him, are you proposing? And he said, ‘I guess I am’. That was the proposal I got, ladies and gentlemen. I was young. Till today, I don’t know how I just agreed to marry him like that. I sort of know, because I fell in love with the way my husband loved me”.

    Veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo says it is wrong for an African man to kneel while trying to propose to a woman he plans to marry.

    The outspoken role interpreter made this known via his Instagram page on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

     

    According to him, it is not African culture for a man to kneel while proposing to woman, maintaining that it was a culture copied from the western world.

    “I’m an African and I stand with Pete Edochie on what he said. It is un-African today to knee down to propose to a woman. I’m an African to that level. Like we always preach it is not all you see on TV that you copy,” he said.

     

    ”It is an Instagram lifestyle. It doesn’t stop you from living it. Live it the way you want. We are not also saying you must live with us in our stone age.”

     

    “Because when we talk about this, some people who think they are more intelligent than us tell us we are coming from the stone age. Don’t worry, live your technology age but it is not part of our culture.”

    Revered veteran actor, Pete Edochie has slammed young men who go on their kneels to propose to women.

    The outspoken in a video circulating online said such a person is a big fool.

    He added that it is not in sync with the African culture.

    “Any young man who gets down on his knees to propose to a girl is not just an idiot, he is a bloody fool. The reason why I am saying this is simple, we try to copy white people .I believe I the core of our culture. The white man knees down to propose to a girl. You know what it means? The girl takes over the family. This is why whenever you disagree with your wife overseas, you are kicked out and your wife takes over the house.

    “I have lived with my wife for 51 years, nobody has come to say, please stop beating this woman. Is it hatred that united us? It means you are an idiot.

     

    “If you call that civilization, it is alright, kneel down before your wife, I will sympathize with you when she takes over the home”.

    As expected some Nigerians disagreed with the actor.

    Actor, Stan Nze wrote: ”I’m going to propose to my wife kneeling and I will still be the head of my home and I will live with her for 51years and even more. Do what works for you”.

    Nigerian pop star, Harrison Okiri better known as Harrysong, has finally proposed to his girlfriend, Isioma.

    The versatile singer took to his social media on Tuesday to announce the engagement with an emotional message.

    He also shared a video of the beautiful engagement ring on his wife-to-be’s finger, stating that “Isioma said yes”.

    Harrysong added that the lovebirds would get married this year using the hashtag #KingIsi2020.

    The ‘Reggae Blues’ crooner described his girlfriend as a replica of a mother in his life as she is caring, forgiving and has made his life beautiful.

    “I lost my mother when I was very young, I’m happy to have found a mother in you” he said with a video capturing the engagement ring on his girlfriend’s finger.

    Harrysong was born as the only child to Ijaw parents in Warri, Delta State. After the death of his mother, a strained relationship between him and his step-mother led to his drop-out from school and his involvement with music grew after moving to Port Harcourt.

    At age eleven, Harrysong’s music career started as a percussionist in the church his mother served as the music director before he went on to learn contemporary gospel music. In 2007, he moved to Lagos as the lead singer of a live band who perform in night clubs until he met Kcee which led to him signing for Five Star Music
