Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are in talks with Manchester City to sign forward Julian Alvarez as Kylian Mbappe’s replacement.

PSG have stopped  the pursuit of Osimhem and instead concentrated on Alvarez as Mbappe’s replacement.

The Ligue 1 champions initially prioritized a move for the Nigerian but high price tag from Napoli is hindering his acquisition.

According to reports from CaughtOffside, Alvarez has emerged as a top target.

Despite PSG’s interest, Pep Guardiola is adamant about keeping Alvarez.

However Manchester City have informed Alvarez’s agents that they have no intention of selling him during the current transfer window and will reject any future offers.

Amid move to Real Madrid, Mbappe demands €100m from PSG

Newly signed Real Madrid player, Kylian Mbappe has asked Paris Saint-Germain to pay him €100m ahead of his move to the Galaticos.

L’Equipe reports that the amount is the wages PSG have not paid Mbappe for April, May and do not intend to pay for June either.

The 25-year-old’s current contract with the Ligue 1 side will expire on the 30th of June and the issue must be resolved before then.

The relationship between Mbappe and PSG has been rocky ever since he refused to sign a new deal.

The French forward was frozen out of the first team before returning later on down the line.

Mbappe will now leave on a free transfer to join Real Madrid.

The player is currently in the French squad to the ongoing Euro 2024 in Germany.

Mbappe betrayed PSG all season – Rothen

Former PSG star Jerome Rothen has hit out at new Real Madrid attacker Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe’s move from PSG to the Spanish giants was confirmed this week.

Rothen told RMC: “He betrayed us all season.

“Five months have passed since Kylian showed that he didn’t want to make an effort to stay at PSG. It’s not a problem of the coach, the managers, the president, the fans… It’s just a problem of respect.

“When you put yourself in the category of the best players in the world, you have to have the right attitude. You have to fight for your teammates, for your country, for your club.

“But he didn’t do it. I think he betrayed us this whole year. The season was catastrophic from start to finish in terms of image and communication. I’m very angry with him, when I see him in the national team I tell myself that there’s no way he can play for France.

PSG reportedly refuse to pay Kylian Mbappe £70m debt after transfer to Real Madrid

PSG have reportedly withheld payments to Kylian Mbappe to the tune of €80million (£70m) in the wake of his free transfer to Real Madrid.

The French superstar was confirmed as the newest ‘Galactico’ on Monday, ending a transfer saga as he joined the club on a five-year deal.

According to L’Equipe, the loss of their star player for nothing has prompted the withholding of large payments in order for the PSG boss not to ‘lose face in this matter’.

The outlet report that PSG refused to pay the 25-year-old his salary in April and May as well as his bonus in February. This has allowed the side to recover around £70m – the amount promised to the France captain as a loyalty bonus when he signed his 2022 extension.

In November, French outlet RMC Sport reported that Mbappe – who was exiled from PSG’s squad last summer after he informed the club he would not be utilising his extension – was only allowed to return if he agreed to forego bonuses that he was owed.

The report claimed PSG had originally insisted the only way he could rejoin Luis Enrique’s first team was if he signed a new deal, something the forward refused to do

He was subsequently left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea and forced to train with a group that become known as the ‘undesirables’ – players who PSG were trying to force out.

Mbappe was then reintegrated after missing the first game of the season against Lorient.

L’Equipe’s recent report has backed up those claims but states that the dispute was only partially finalised.

The club’s all-time top scorer saw his game time dramatically reduce after he informed the PSG president of his decision to leave at the end of the campaign.

Mbappe is currently with the France squad preparing for Euro 2024 and will formally link up with Real after his involvement in the tournament ends.

UCL: Center referee caught on camera crying after Dortmund defeated PSG in France

Shortly after blowing the final whistle in the semi-final clash between Paris Saint Germain and Borussia Dortmund, referee Daniele Orsato was caught on camera crying.

It would be recalled that Mats Hummels’ header in the second half sealed a 1-0 win on the night and a 2-0 aggregate victory for the Bundesliga side.

Orsato, who became a FIFA referee in 2010, was called upon to make some very tough decisions.

He awarded a free kick and not a penalty to PSG after Hummels appeared to bring down Dembele millimetres before the edge of the home side’s penalty box.

However, there were emotional scenes after the game, as that would be the last time Orsato, 48, would take charge of a Champions League match.

The Italian official is set to retire after Euro 2024.

Journalist Henry Winter, writing on X, said: “Italian ref Daniele Orsato showing how to run a game. Supported by VAR rather than governed by it. Strong, applied advantage, and decisive (rightly, quickly changed pen to fk. And Mbappe one prob 50-50). Respected by players.”

PSG fire blanks as Hummels powers Borussia Dortmund into UCL final

Borussia Dortmund will play the Champions League final for the first time in 11 years after they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in France on Tuesday.

PSG hit the woodwork four times, while Dortmund needed only Mats Hummels’ header in the 50th minute to seal their spot in the final at London’s Wembley on June 1.

The German side won the first leg 1-0 last week.

Wembley hosted Dortmund when they played their most recent Champions League final in 2013.

Back then, they were defeated 2-1 by Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.

Hummels was part of the squad who had to settle for second place 11 years ago, as well as forward Marco Reus.

Reus said last week that he will leave Dortmund at the end of the season after more than 21 years of service.

The German clubs could have rematch of their 2013 final if Bayern overcome Real Madrid in Spain on Wednesday after a 2-2 draw in the first leg.

Overall, this is the third time Dortmund would play in the Champions League final.

Though the 2013 game didn’t go their way, they won the trophy in 1997.

Tuesday’s loss meant another champion’s league misery for Kylian Mbappe, who had the sight of goal for the first time in the seventh minute of the match.

He, however, did not hit his volley the way he would have liked as the ball went straight to Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

The guests had the best chance of the first half in a counter-attack after Nico Scholotterback cleared a dangerous cross.

Dortmund looked set to get the opener when Karim Adeyemi burst away from two markers, but keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma stretched his hand to make a big save.

PSG could have levelled the tie shortly after the break as Gonçalo Ramos flicked Mbappe’s cross up in the air and the ball fell to Warren Zaïre-Emery, who hit the post from close range.

But Dortmund found a quick response to put down PSG’s initial spark in the second half and were on target in the 50th.

Julian Brandt’s corner came in from the left and Hummels got away from Lucas Beraldo to head the ball in.

PSG were again denied by the post in the 61st after Nuno Mendes had a go from long range.

Dortmund, meanwhile, thought they had a second when Hummels scored in the 77th, but he was offside.

To complete their dreadful evening, the Paris team hit the woodwork two more times – Mbappe in the 86th and Vitinha in the 88th minute.

UCL: Dortmund walk tightrope, pip PSG 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park

German side, Borrussia Dortmund walk a tightrope after recording a slim 1-0 victory over visitor Paris Saint Germain in the second UEFA Champions League match at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday night.

Niclas Fuellkrug scored the only goal of the night for  Dortmund as they look forward to grabbing the final ticket for the first time in 11 years.

Seeking a return to the final for the first time since 2013, the 1997 winners were dogged and determined but could only manage to score just one goal.

Fuellkrug, 31, received a lofted pass from centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck in the 36th minute and blasted a low shot into the left corner of the net.

PSG, led by Kylian Mbappe, hit the post twice in quick succession early in the second-half but could not break through.

Dortmund, who had already lost and drawn against PSG this season in the group stage, can continue to dream of a return to Wembley 11 years after their last Champions League final.

Despite the setback, however, PSG will remain confident of overturning the deficit at home next week against a side they thoroughly outclassed at their home venue in September.

Dortmund manager Edin Terzic said pre-match PSG were “built to win the Champions League” since the Qatari takeover a decade ago.

Nowhere was the contrast between the two clubs greater than PSG’s global superstar Mbappe, playing in his last season for his hometown club, and journeyman Dortmund striker Fuellkrug, who was playing second-division football this time two years ago.

The reverse fixture will hold next week Tuesday at Parc De Princes.

The winner of the encounter will face the winner between Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen.
