  • Twitter agog as lady accuses Brymo of rape

Nigerian singer, Brymo has been accused of rape. The ‘Ara’ singer was said to have allegedly raped a certain Twitter user with the name, Biliqus _x.

A distraught Biliqus had taken to her Twitter page to recount how the entertainer allegedly raped her.

In her words:” I was raped by brymo I had mentioned to her that I knew him personally and she wanted to meet him as she was a huge fan of his. So I called him to confirm if it was okay to bring a friend over to his place and also if he was at home and he said it was. When we got his place, we listened to music, talked about music and random stuff and drank wine. Everything was going okay. Until he got up and went to sit beside my friend. He started touching her and I could tell she was uncomfortable and she also complained about feeling fuzzy (we believe she was probably drugged) so I told him to stop and that we were leaving. I brought out my phone and was about ordering a taxify when he told me he wanted to talk to me. I told him I’d talk to him later but we had to leave.
“But he insisted and told me to go with him to his room to talk as he didn’t want to talk in the presence of my friend. I leave. But he insisted and told me to go with him to his room to talk as he didn’t want to talk in the presence of my friend. I stupidly went with him. When we got inside, he asked me how I could be so stupid as to bring a friend over and expect nothing to happen. He started shouting and kept calling me stupid for making such a mistake. At his point, i was already scared so I just kept apologizing so he would let us go. He then said he couldn’t let me go like that as he was already horny and had to be satisfied. There was no way I would have been able to leave if I didn’t do what he wanted so I did. At some point my friend got worried and came banging on the door. He told me that he’d have sex with her too and I had to beg him to leave her out of it. He started laughing like the sicko that he is and I was so scared. “ She narrated.
As at the time of filing this report, Brymo is yet to react to the weighty allegations. As expected, Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to the allegation.

I screamed when some boys wanted to rape me-Tope Alabi

Popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi has recounted her childhood struggles. The sonorous singer known for her melodious voice said when she was young, she hawked egg and other things to make ends meet.

Alabi made this known during her “Praise the Almighty 2020” concert.

“I know some people are here who cannot point to any meaningful thing they have achieved in life. I know some people are here, even the worst slippers on their leg right now was borrowed. That was exactly my story years back. I went through hell in Oshodi. Even before I can buy second hand cloth under Oshodi Bridge, I will have saved for months.I hawked raw eggs. I must hawk rice and stew before going to school in Ewutu.

“It was in Ibadan that I sold boiled eggs. There were so many temptations while I was growing up as well, but I thank God for my mother who kept me on the right path. I would like to advise parents as well to instil discipline into their children so that they would be able to flee from temptation. My mother did a wonderful job on me because the fear of what my mother would do to me if I was caught doing the wrong thing was always there to deter me from doing anything silly. If at all you tried anything stupid and you got caught, just consider yourself dead. We need parents to take care of these children because temptations come in different forms”, she said.

Recounting her near rape experience, Alabi said: ”There was a time my mother sent me on an errand around 7.30pm and I was almost ambushed by some boys who wanted to rape me. Immediately I sighted them, I began to shout because I remembered my mother’s advice about situations like that. I thank God because as I began to scream, those boys ran away and that was what saved me. If it were another girl, they would have had their way with her”.

  • Satanic cleric rapes three daughters of couple who housed him free for seven years

Satanic cleric rapes three daughters of couple who housed him free for seven years

A Lagos woman on Tuesday stunned an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court that her three daughters, aged 12, nine and seven were serially defiled by a muslim cleric, the family housed free for between seven and eight years

The victim’s mother made the revelation while testifying as the second prosecution witness in the trial of Ibrahim Idris, a 26-year-old cleric, charged with defilement.

The mother of six, who is also married to a cleric while being led in evidence by the state counsel, Mr Gbenga Alagbe, told the court that she knew about the alleged defilement from a teacher in the school her daughters were attending.

“In 2017, I received a call from the teacher of the school my children go to for lessons. The teacher told me that one of my daughters told her something and that she wanted me to hear for myself what she said.

“When we got to the office at the school, my oldest daughter (Daughter A) said that Idris slept with her and her younger sisters.

“I was told by the teacher that earlier while Daughter “A”was being interrogated about the allegations, she ran out of the class.

“A woman had seen her and had taken her back into the school and when she saw a male teacher she was scared because Idris was sleeping with her and anytime she sees a male teacher, she becomes withdrawn and scared ,” the mother said.

The mother said following the revelation, she took her children home from the school and her husband who was not around during that period, arrived two days later on Aug. 11, 2017.

She noted that when the father arrived, the defendant was summoned to their residence.

“We asked him about the allegations and he insisted nothing happened. We took him to the police station for questioning and we were referred to the Mirabel Center at Ikeja for medical examinations.

“I had asked Daughter B (9-years-old) about the allegations and she said it was true, I had asked Daughter A (12-years-old) about the allegations but she was afraid to tell me what happened.

“However, when we got to the police station, Daughter A told me what had happened,” the mother said.

While being cross-examined by the defence counsel, Mr Lekan Ijelu, the woman said the defendant was living with her family when he allegedly committed the crimes.

She noted that he had stopped residing with her family when the allegations came to light.

“He lived with us for seven or eight years. When he was living with us permanently, he used to go for his Islamic classes in the morning around 8am and return around 5pm.

“When he was temporarily residing with us, he used to stay on Fridays till Sundays,” she said.

The mother told the court that there were six adult males including the defendant who had lived in her home with her husband who is also a cleric.

She said she was shocked when she heard the allegations.

“He is a gentle boy. He says the truth all the time and when I’am going out, I leave my kids with him to take care of them for me, I trusted him so much, I was shocked to hear what he did to my daughters,” she said.

Following her evidence, the state prosecutor appealed to the presiding judge to address the woman to ensure that the mother brings her three daughters to court to testify against Ibrahim.

“My lord, the witness said that she did not want to bring her daughters to testify, because she feels it may be traumatic for them,” Alagbe said.

Responding, Justice Sybil Nwaka told the woman that preventing her children from coming to court will amount to the offence of obstruction of justice.

“The children are the victims. They must come to court to testify. This case is not your case, it is the case of the Lagos State Government.

“You reported the case, the children must come to court to testify. That is the process and procedure, if not you will be regarded as a hostile witness and that is an offence,” Justice Nwaka said.

The woman responded: “My lord, I feel it has been a long time. I do not want them to be reminded of what happened.”

Justice Nwaka adjourned the case until March 4 for continuation of trial.

Earlier during proceedings, a medical doctor and first prosecution witness, Dr Oyedeji Alagbe, of the Mirabel Center (a sexual assault referral centre) had interpreted the finding of his medical examinations on the minors.

Alagbe confirmed to the court that medical examination revealed that the three daughters were defiled.

According to the prosecution, Ibrahim committed the offences sometime in 2017 at the complainants home at Agege, Lagos.

“The defendant, Idris, a cleric on various occasions defiled the sisters aged 12, nine and seven-years-old in their home.

“The offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015 which prescribes a life sentence for anyone found guilty of the offence of defilement,” Alagbe said

  • JUST IN: Woman cuts off penis of man she accused of rape

JUST IN: Woman cuts off penis of man she accused of rape

A woman in Pakistan has cut off the penis of a man she accused of trying to rape her, police said on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old woman used a knife to defend herself from the assault of the man who stormed her house in the central province of Punjab, police official Mohamed Ilyas said.

The woman told the police she was alone at home when the man broke in and tried to overpower her.

The woman then ran to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and then cut off his penis when he again tried to assault her, Ilyas said, citing the woman’s account.

The 28-year-old man was being treated at the hospital in the city of Faisalabad and will be interrogated once his condition improves, Ilyas added.

Hundreds of women are raped in Pakistan each year, but those who commit the assaults are rarely punished due to weak laws and complicated procedures for prosecution, according to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.

Rape victims are often blamed for their assaults, accused of socialising with men – something frowned upon in conservative Muslim societies – or of bringing the attack on themselves.

Many women remain silent and decline to file a police report to avoid being named and shamed by Pakistan’s conservative society, advocacy group Aurat Foundation said.

“It is a painful situation. Often victims are blamed both by the legal system and the society,” women’s rights activist Farzana Bari said.
