French football star Kylian Mbappe has officially been handed the No.10 shirt at Real Madrid, taking over from the departing Luka Modric.

In addition to succeeding Modric, Mabppe follows in the footsteps of several club legends namely Mesut Ozil, Luis Figo, Clarence Seedorf, and Ferenc Puskas.

Mbappe previously wore the No.10 shirt during his time at Monaco, but never claimed it at PSG, where he instead donned numbers 29, 17, 14, and most notably, 7.

Having already scored 44 goals in 59 appearances for Real Madrid, he now looks to take the next step in his evolution at the Bernabeu wearing the iconic No.10.

Rodrygo Goes has made a definitive decision over his future with Real Madrid.

Foot Mercato says the Brazil midfielder has chosen to leave Real Madrid this summer.

Rodrygo, with Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City all keen, has instructed his agents to find him a new club.

Indeed, he has already made one decision, turning down an attempt from Tottenham in the last 24 hours.

Rodrygo is determined to leave Real, but is seeking a bigger stage and a club with bigger ambitions than Spurs.

Rodrygo has decided to seek a move away after being convinced he has no place in new coach Xabi Alonso’s plans this coming season.

He is still pressing forward with a separate appeal before France’s industrial tribunal to recover €55 million in unpaid wages, however, as per L’Equipe.

Real Madrid will face off against Mbappe’s former club on Wednesday as they seek to cement their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Mbappe breaks 71-year-old Real Madrid record

Kylian Mbappe has broken a 71-year-old Real Madrid record after scoring in Los Blancos’ hard-fought 2-1 win over Real Mallorca on Wednesday.

Although the visitors took a surprise lead at the Santiago Bernabeu with Martin Valjent’s 11th-minute goal, the France international equalized for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the 68th minute.

In doing so, he set a new club record with 28 goals in 32 games in the 2024-25 campaign – the most by a player in his first season for Real Madrid in La Liga history.

Former Spain and Argentina striker Alfredo Di Stéfano held the record for 71 years, after scoring 27 goals during the 1953/54 season.

La Liga: Mbappe reacts to El Classico defeat

Real Madrid Kylian Mbappe has admitted his side’s 4-3 La Liga defeat to arch-rivals Barcelona on Sunday was ‘painful.’

The 26-year-old scored a hattrick for Los Blancos, but it wasn’t enough to stop Barcelona taking a huge step towards the La Liga title.

Hansi Flick’s side are now seven points clear of Real Madrid with three games to go, meaning if they win their next game against Espanyol, they will be crowned champions.

On a personal level, Mbappe will doubtless be delighted to score the most goals in a debut season for Real Madrid (38 goals in 52 games), a record previously held by Ivan Zamorano (37 goals in 45 games).

Real Madrid will likely go without a single piece of silverware this season but Mbappe took to Instagram to send a defiant message to his fans.

Ancelotti set to leave Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season with Xabi Alonso the heavy favourite to replace the legendary Italian.

PerThe Athletic, the 65-year-old is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and take over as Brazil’s new manager for the 2026 World Cup.

The report suggests that the Brazilian football federation sent representatives to watch Ancelotti’s side get knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal.

The CBF have since denied this, but Ancelotti is still said to be in talks over the move.

Former Real Madrid midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso has been identified as the man to replace Ancelotti.

The Spanish giants are understood to be increasingly keen on getting a deal to bring Alonso to the club before this summer’s Club World Cup in June.

  • Mbappe will not win Ballon d’Or, he’s a failure – Rothen

Mbappe will not win Ballon d’Or, he’s a failure – Rothen

Former Paris Saint-Germain winger Jerome Rothen has insisted that Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid has failed and he should have stayed with the Ligue 1 wide.

Mbappé joined Real Madrid last summer as a free agent and has made 49 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 4 assists. The Frenchman currently sits as the club’s top scorer in his debut season in Spain and has the chance to win both La Liga and the Copa del Rey as the season comes to a close.

Despite this potential success, Rothen spoke on RMC Radio about the Frenchman who he believes should never have moved to Los Blancos who were shockingly knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal this week.

“People are talking about Kylian Mbappé. He arrived at his dream club with the ambition of winning every trophy, including the Champions League, and also of being among the best players in the world and winning the Ballon d’Or.

“Collectively and individually, he is a failure. He will not win the Ballon d’Or this year. He is a resounding failure.”

He continued: “At the start of the season, mitigating factors were found. He could have had time to adapt, but when you’re Mbappé, the adaptation time is shorter.

“He scored a lot of goals, but in the game he’s catastrophic.”

After knocking out Aston Villa, PGS advanced to the semi-final,s where they will meet Arsenal later this month. The French side have already won Ligue 1 whereas Mbappe has a slim chance of winning La Liga due to Barcelona’s dominance. His move could prove that the grass isn’t always greener in football and even a move to Madrid may not pay off in the long run.

Superb Arsenal stun Madrid to reach UCL semi-finals

Bukayo Saka scored a goal and missed a penalty as Arsenal held off Real Madrid to reach the Champions League semi-finals in an incident-packed match at the Bernabeu.

Arsenal had a 3-0 aggregate lead to defend after their superb victory in the first leg last week – and they were given the chance to silence the noisy home support when they were awarded a 13th-minute penalty.

Saka stepped up but his weak, chipped effort was saved by Thibaut Courtois.

However, the England forward made amends for his miss when he effectively killed off the tie with a fantastic chipped second-half finish over Courtois after Mikel Merino’s clever pass.

Real hit back just two minutes later when a terrible mistake from William Saliba gifted Vinicius Junior with an open goal to score.

But Real were not able to capitalise on that glimmer of hope and Gabriel Martinelli capped off a glorious night by making it 2-1 in stoppage time with a breakaway goal, again set up by Merino.

It is just the third time in Arsena have reached the semi-final stage of the Champions League and they willl face Paris St-Germain in the last four.

The home crowd, who had built an excellent atmosphere and were hoping to spark a comeback that would be remembered for years to come, thought their side had a way back into the tie shortly after Saka’s spot-kick miss when they were awarded a penalty of their own.

But a lengthy check with the video assistant referee overturned the referee’s decision after Kylian Mbappe had thrown himself to the floor following minimal contanct from Declan Rice.
