    Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga left the team’s training session ahead of Wednesday’s European Supercup Final in serious pain.

    The midfielder stayed on the ground holding his knee for quite some time and screamed in pain after colliding with Aurelien Tchouameni. Camavinga slowly got up and left the field limping.

    While Camavinga’s teammates and everyone involved were visibly shocked, the fact that he wasn’t too slow while leaving the field brings some optimism that he may have escaped a serious knee injury.     Portugal’s legendary defender Pepe has announced his retirement from football at the age of 41. Over his 23 professional seasons, the Real Madrid icon claimed 34 trophies.

     

    Born in Maceió, Brazil, Pepe moved to Portugal at 18 to join Marítimo. Promoted to the first team in his second season, he spent three years at the club in the top flight before transferring to Porto in 2004, where he first made his name.

     

    After three seasons and two Primeira Liga titles at Porto, Pepe joined Real Madrid in 2007. He appeared in 229 La Liga matches for Los Blancos over a decade, winning three league titles, two Copas del Rey, and three Champions League titles.

     

    Internationally, Pepe made his senior debut in 2007 and went on to earn 141 caps, making him Portugal’s third-most-capped player of all time. He participated in five Euros, including Euro 2024, and four World Cups. He was a key member of the Portugal team that won Euro 2016.

    Courtois later said: “We have been competitive. We are not happy with the defeat, but it is preseason and nothing happens, we have to continue getting minutes.

    “I feel very good. The second goal is sad, because I calculated a little wrong. But it’s better that it happens now and not in the season, but I feel good.”

    Czech Republic and Real Madrid captain, Luka Modric has put pen to paper for contract extension at the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of next  season, the Club announced on Wednesday.

    According to the announcement on Real Madrid website, the 38-year-old midfielder extended his contract until June 30, 2025.

    Modric has won six Champions League titles, La Liga four times and lifted the Copa del Rey twice with Real Madrid.

    The Midfielder has only started 37 times across the last two league seasons,  despite being a key player for coach Carlo Ancelotti, having helped Los Blancos to a Champions League-La Liga double last term.

    Modric became the oldest goalscorer in European Championship history last month when he netted for Croatia against Italy at Euro 2024, although he could not prevent the 2018 World Cup runners-up from suffering a group-stage exit.

    French Striker,  Kylian Mbappe has officially joined La Liga side, Real Madrid, following his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after his contract expired at the end of last season.

    The 25-year-old forward was presented at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where he donned the iconic number 9 jersey.

    This number has been famously worn by legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Ronaldo, Javier Saviola, and Roberto Soldado.

    Mbappe who didn’t have a fantastic Euro tournament  scored just  one goal via a penalty against Poland.

    It would be recalled that he played wearing a mask after breaking his nose.

    The forward would lllater described his performance at the tournament as a “failure.”

    “In football, you’re either good or not good. I wasn’t good. My Euro was a failure,” Mbappe admitted. “I wanted to be European champion. Now, I will go on holiday, rest well, which will do me a lot of good, and then get ready to start a new life. There’s a lot to do.”

    The Spaniard left Getafe for England, signing for Brighton and then moving on to Chelsea.

    Cucurella did not have the best of starts at Chelsea, but is now a regular and is shining at Euro 2024 with Spain.

    Torres stated this week: “I’m not surprised by the good Euros that Cucurella is doing.

    “I offered him to Real Madrid when I was here and it was close to being done.”

    Cucurella is being linked with a move to Spain this summer, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and other clubs circling.
