  • BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo ‘wants to leave’ Real Madrid after being accused of tax fraud

Cristiano Ronaldo has sensationally told Real Madrid he wants to leave them and is said to favour a move back to Manchester United, according to reports in Spain and Portugal this morning.

The four-time Ballon d’Or winner has enjoyed another sensational season at the Bernabeu but is said to feel the club has not protected him sufficiently after he was charged with allegedly evading £13million in tax.

Real Madrid appeared to completely back him, but a different picture has since emerged which may suggest why he wants out after eight years at the club.

A Bola reported (in native Portugal) this morning that Ronaldo has decided his time in Spain has come to an end and he has communicated this “irreversible” decision as final to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

The shocking news was backed up hours later on the website of newspaper Marca, which is viewed as Madrid’s mouthpiece.

  • ‘I feel like a young boy’ says Ronaldo after Madrid’s win

Zinedine Zidane hailed an historic day for Real Madrid as the Spanish champions became the first club to retain the Champions League with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Juventus, on a night when Cristiano Ronaldo wrote his name into the record books with another two goals.

Ronaldo became the first player to score in three Champions League finals and took his tally of career goals to 600 with a man-of-the-match performance against a Juventus side that started brightly but badly lost their way in the second half. Mario Mandzukic equalised for the Italian side with a spectacular overhead kick after Ronaldo had put Madrid ahead but the complexion of the game changed after the interval.

Madrid scored twice in three minutes through Casemiro and Ronaldo, with Marco Asensio adding a fourth in the 90th minute after Juventus had been reduced to 10 men following Juan Cuadrado’s harsh dismissal. Zidane described Madrid’s second-half performance as “spectacular” and was thrilled that the club won the Spanish title and the European Cup in the same season for the first time since 1958. Incredibly, it is Madrid’s 12th European Cup in total.

“You can say today is an historic day for all Madrid fans, for the players and for myself,” Zidane said. “I feel extremely happy because the truth is it’s been a special year, you couldn’t dream of anything better. We won the league on the last day and we know it’s very difficult to win a Champions League final for the second year running – we’ve managed to do it.”

Ronaldo, who was given his man-of-the-match award by Sir Alex Ferguson, pointed to his list of staggering career statistics when reminded that some people have criticised him in the recent past and also suggested that, at the age of 32, he feels as good as he has ever done.

“What is important is that I did again, an amazing season, me and my team-mates won the double,” said Ronaldo, who has now scored 108 goals in the Champions League. “I think the people don’t have words to criticise because the numbers don’t lie. I’m very happy, it’s one of the best moments in my career – I seem to say that every year. My head is just a number. I feel like a young boy.”

Zidane, who has presided over those back-to-back Champions League successes, admitted that Madrid struggled in the first half, when Juventus played with no shortage of belief. “We started with difficulties but I think in the second half we were clearly superior,” the Madrid coach said.

  • Real Madrid beat Juventus, retain Champions League title

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as holders Real Madrid of Spain on Saturday emerged champions of Europe for a record 12th time after overwhelming 10-man Juventus of Italy.

In a high-quality UEFA Champions League final match in Cardiff, the Portugal captain put Real Madrid ahead with a first-time finish from 16 yards before Mario Mandzukic equalised

He scored from just inside the area with a sensational overhead kick beyond Keylor Navas, a goal that should stand out as one of the best.

But Real took control of the game after the interval, with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro’s deflected shot restoring the lead.

Ronaldo then sealed victory for Zinedine Zidane’s side after poking home from close range following Luka Modric’s cross.

Juventus played the last six minutes with 10 men, after substitute Juan Cuadrado got booked twice inside 18 minutes, before substitute Marco Asensio hit the fourth after Marcelo’s fine pass.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has now won back-to-back Champions League titles since he took charge in January 2016.

In addition to this, the former Real player won the season’s La Liga title.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Juventus, who are the Serie A champions, have now lost five Champions League finals since they last won the competition in 1996.

  • Real Madrid win first La Liga title since 2012

Real Madrid win first La Liga title since 2012

Real Madrid won first La Liga title since 2012 thanks to a final-day 2-0 victory at Malaga on Sunday and in spite of FC Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Eibar.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored early in the game to settle the nerves, latching onto Isco’s through ball to step around Carlos Kameni and tap into an empty net.

Karim Benzema then added their second goal after the break after Kameni had parried Sergio Ramos’ shot.

Real, who had only needed a draw to win the title, now face Juventus in the Champions League final aiming to complete a double

FC Barcelona, who had won the past two titles, came from 2-0 down to beat Eibar 4-2 at the Nou Camp.

But they had also needed Real to slip up if they were going to retain the trophy.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Real Madrid finished with 93 points, while FC Barcelona ended with 90 points to stay second.

The result means Zinedine Zidane, in his first full season as Real boss, has recorded another first.

He is the first manager to lead Madrid to the Spanish league title since Jose Mourinho did five years ago.

If Real beat Juventus in Cardiff, they will become the first team to successfully defend the Champions League.

Zidane had won the tournament six months into the job last summer.

  • Real Madrid look to equal Barcelona’s unbeaten record

The 3-0 win over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Thursday evening extended Real Madrid’s unbeaten run to 38 games, with the side winning 29 of those matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to make his first Real Madrid appearance of 2017 as Zinedine Zidane’s side take on La Liga strugglers Granada at the Santiago Bernabeu at Saturday lunchtime.

Madrid will equal Barcelona’a La Liga record for unbeaten games if they avoid defeat to the league’s second-lowest ranked team, and Ronaldo – who won his third Ballon d’Or last month – will no doubt be in the thick of the action.

  • Real Madrid extend unbeaten run to 38 games

Real Madrid have extended their unbeaten run to 38 games with a 3-0 victory over Sevilla in the first leg of their last-16 Copa del Rey tie at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Real —- who have won 29 of those 38 matches —- are one short of equalling a best-ever run by a La Liga team.

James Rodriguez scored twice as he made a rare start in the absence of the rested Cristiano Ronaldo.

Raphael Varne also headed home to put Real firmly in control, with the second leg in Seville on Jan. 12.

It is a second leg which now appears a formality amid a hectic schedule that could see Real play 21 times in 11 weeks.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in this match Madrid started a second consecutive home game without any of their first-choice front three.

They left Karim Benzema on the substitutes’ bench, while Ronaldo rested and Gareth Bale was sidelined with a long-term ankle injury.

Rodriguez had previously said he would consider his future in January after playing a minor role so far this season.

But he made the most of a rare start by scoring a spectacular long-range opener and adding his second with a penalty kick after Luca Modric was fouled by Mariano.

Real Sociedad also took a huge step towards the last eight with Willian Jose, Carlos Vela and Mikel Oyarzabal scoring in a 3-1 win over Villarreal.

Portugal star man, Cristiano Ronaldo has reached yet another landmark by scoring the 40th hat-trick of his Real Madrid career as they claimed the FIFA Club World Cup.

Ronaldo has now scored three hat-tricks this season and six in the calendar year, with the J-League challengers the latest team to be put to the sword.

Lifting the Club World Cup for the second time in three years is an outstanding year for Ronaldo, who helped Real Madrid to another Champions League win and then led Portugal to glory in the European Championship.

Real Madrid are four points clear at the top of the La Liga table.

Ronaldo’s hat-tricks for the Real Madrid have come in La Liga, five in the Champions League, against Ajax, Galatasaray, Shakhtar Donetsk, Malmo and Wolfsburg.
