    Air Force announces redeployment of 36 AVMs, 40 commodores(Full List)

    In what it called a routine exercise, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the redeployment of 36 Air Vice Marshals (AVMs) and 40 Air Commodores (Air Cdres).

    Affected are some Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Commandants of Tri-Service Institutions, Directors and Commanders.

    The appointments and redeployments followed the recent promotion of some senior officers to higher ranks as well as the retirement of some senior officers. The exercise will reinvigorate operational efficiency and enhancing service delivery.

    Branch Chiefs affected by the redeployment include AVM Oladayo Amao, the former Chief of Training and Operations (CTOP) Headquarters NAF (HQ NAF), who has now been appointed as the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP); while AVM James Gwani, the erstwhile AOC Special Operations Command (SOC), has been appointed as the new CTOP.

    Additionally, AVM Musibau Olatunji has been appointed as the new Chief of Aircraft Engineering (CAcE), while AVM Mohammed Idris has been appointed as the Chief of Administration (COA) HQ NAF.

    Also redeployed are AVM Abubakar Liman, the erstwhile Commandant of the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (AFRC), Oshodi, who has now been appointed as Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji; AVM Kingsley Lar, the former COA HQ NAF, has been appointed as the Commandant of AFRC, Oshodi; while AVM Abdulganiyu Olabisi, the former AOC Logistics Command (LC) is now the Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna.

    The new AOCs include: AVM Olusegun Philip, who is now the AOC Tactical Air Command (AOC TAC) in Makurdi; AVM Charles Ohwo, the former AOC TAC, who is now the AOC SOC, Bauchi; AVM Ibukun Ojeyemi who has been appointed as the AOC Mobility Command (MC) in Yenagoa and AVM Musa Muktar who is the new AOC Air Training Command (ATC); while the former Commandant AFCSC, AVM Lawal Alao, is now the AOC LC, Ikeja.

    Other senior officers redeployed include AVM Anderson Kassimu who is now the Managing Director NAF Properties Limited; AVM Mohammed Suleiman who is appointed as the Chief of Defence Policy and Plans (CDPP), Defence Headquarters (DHQ), AVM Tunde Awoyoola as Chief of Defence Transformation and Innovation, DHQ; AVM Ubrufi Uzezi as Deputy Chief of the Defence Space Administration and AVM Charles Otegbade to the Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC), Kaduna as Commandant. Also affected are AVM Idi Lubo who is now the Director of Policy HQ NAF, AVM Ayoola Jolasinmi who is appointed as Director of Operations, AVM Aliyu Pani as the Director of Administration and Air Commodore Abraham Adole as Director of Training, HQ NAF.

    Also redeployed is the former Commander 011 Presidential Air Fleet (011 PAF), AVM Hassan Abubakar who is now the Chief of Staff (COS) MC, Yenagoa. He is to be replaced by Air Commodore Abubakar Abdullahi while Air Commodore Simon Peter is to take over as the Commander 053 NAF Camp, Abuja and Air Commodore Razak Olanrewaju is appointed as the new Commander 651 Bases Services Group, Ikeja. The newly appointed and redeployed senior officers are expected to take over their new offices not later than Tuesday, 7 January 2020.

    President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate redeployment of two Ministers of State
    Mr Willie Bassey, Director, Information Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
    According to Basset, Mr Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs is to move to the Ministry of Labour and Employment as Minister of State.
    Bassey said Sen.Tayo Alasoadura has been directed to move to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs as Minister of State.
    “This redeployment takes effect from today, Tuesday Sept. 24, 2019, ” he said.
  • Insurgency: Army redeploys newly promoted Adeosun, Yusuf, others

    Newly promoted Lt.-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun has been appointed Nigerian Army’s Chief of Policy and Plans (CPPLANS) in a major shake-up announced last night by Army Headquarters.
    The posting also saw the deployment of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Maj.-Gen. Musa Yusuf and the confirmation of Maj.-Gen. Bulama Biu as GOC 7 Division, among others.
    According to a statement by acting Army spokesman Col. Sagir Musa, the posting was approved by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai to reinvigorate the system for greater professional efficiency.
    The statement: “The highlight includes the appointment of the newly promoted Lt. Gen L.O. Adeosun, the erstwhile Chief of Training and Operations now redeployed as Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Maj.-Gen A.O Shodunke from Army Headquarters Department of Army Standards and Evaluation to Defence Headquarters as Chief of Defence Logistics.
    “Maj-Gen. A.A. Tarfa from Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre to Training and Doctrine Command Minna as Commander, Maj.-Gen. E.O. Udoh from the Army Headquarters Department of Logistics becomes Chief of Training and Operations (Army).
    “Maj.-Gen. Yusuf, who was the GOC 81 Division, is now Chief of Administration (Army), Maj.- Gen. J.I. Unuigbe the former Corps Commander Ordnance becomes the Chief of Logistics (Army) while Maj.-Gen. O.F. Azinta former GOC 2 Division is appointed Chief of Army Standard and Evaluation.
    “Others include: Maj.-Gen. A.B. Omozoje of Army Headquarters Department of Policy and Plans, who is now the GOC 2 Division Ibadan. The newly-promoted Maj.-Gen. A.B. C.G Musa from Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited is appointed Commander Sector 3 Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Monguno while Maj.-Gen. O.T.     “Also, Brig.-Gen. K.A. Kazir is to remain in Army Headquarters Department of Projects and Programmes and appointed Acting Executive Director of Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited. Brig.-Gen. A.E. Attu moves from Nigerian Army Resource Centre to National Defence College and appointed Acting Deputy Commandant.

    “Brig.-Gen. M.T. Usman from Headquarters 28 Task Force Brigade moves to Headquarters Guards Brigade Abuja as Commander taking over from Brig.-Gen. U.T. Musa who becomes Acting Commandant Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre Jaji, Brig.-Gen. G.O. Adesina remains at the Department of Policy and Plans and redeployed as Acting Director Policy.
    “Similarly, Brig.-Gen. L.A. Fejokwu from National Defence College is now the Acting Director Personnel Services at Army Headquarters, Brig.-Gen. EAP Undiandeye from Army Headquarters Department of Army Transformation and Innovation becomes the Acting Director Foreign Liaison at the Defence Intelligence Agency Abuja, Brig.-Gen. J.Y. Nimyel from Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja takes over as the Commandant Amphibious Training School Calabar from Brig.-Gen. O.O. Oluyede who is now Commander 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Yadi.
    “Brig.-Gen. P.P. Malla moves from 82 Division Garrison Enugu to Headquarters 28 Task Force Brigade Chibok and appointed Commander.
    Others are: Brig.-Gen. O.M. Bello of Headquarters 6 Division Port Harcourt becomes the Commander 1 Brigade Sokoto Brig.-Gen. M.A. Etsu-Ndagi from Army Headquarters Garrison Abuja becomes the Commander 9 Brigade Lagos while Col RC Emeh from Defence Headquarters is appointed Assistant Director Army Physical Training at 3 Division Physical Training Group Jos. “In the same vein, Col MO Erebulu who just completed a course at Higher War College Egypt is appointed Commander 2 Provost Group Ibadan, Lt.Col SA Abimbola from Nigerian Army Operations Centre at Army Headquarters is appointed Commanding Officer 343 Artillery Regiment Elele whereas Lt Col SM Ahmed from 375 Artillery Regiment Baga becomes the Commanding Officer 332 Artillery Regiment Shendam, amongst others.
    “Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai whilst wishing all of them well in their respective appointments charges them to take their new responsibilities seriously and discharge all duties professionally with utmost loyalty to service and nation. All the appointments take immediate effect.”

  • IG recalls Imo CP, 14 others two days after their redeployment

    The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has recalled Dasuki Galadanchi to Imo State as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command two days after he was transferred out of the state.

    Also recalled are three Deputy Commissioners of Police and 11 Assistant Commissioners of Police redeployed to various states of the federation by the Police chief.

    The IGP had, on Wednesday, redeployed Galadanchi to Bauchi State and posted the current Commissioner of Police in charge of the Kogi State command, Ali Janga, to the state.

    But 48 hours later,the IGP reversed himself and cancelled all the transfers.

    It was gathered that a signal came on Friday morning stating that all the transferred Police officers should return to their former offices with immediate effect.

    One of the affected Police officers who preferred not to be mentioned told our correspondent that he was racing back to the state to resume duty.

    The visibly elated Police chief said that there was power play among top politicians from the state.

    Meanwhile, at the Command headquarters in Owerri, Police officers who were in a happy mood were seen discussing what many of them called “a serious power play.”

  • Navy effects major shakeup, redeploy 21 senior officers

    In line with the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Adm. Ibok-Ette Ibas’ effort to reposition the Nigerian Navy, 21 senior officers were redeployed on Thursday to head different formations and commands.

    The Director, Naval Information, Capt. Suleiman Dahun, Spain in a statement in Lagos that the posting was to re-organise the upper echelon of the Nigerian Navy.

    He stated that “the new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command is Rear Adm. SAG Abbah, formerly Navy Secretary.

    “Rear Adm. VO Adedipe, formerly Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, moves to Eastern Naval Command as FOC.

    “Rear Adm. P. Onaji, formerly Fleet Commander, Eastern Fleet, has been appointed FOC, Logistics Command, while Rear Adm. O. Ofodile, formerly Chief Staff Officer, Eastern Naval Command, is now FOC, Naval Training Command.

    “Furthermore, Rear Adm. A. Al-Hassan, former Director, Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate, is the new FOC, Central Naval Command.

    “Rear Adm. S. Usman, formerly Chief Staff Officer, Logistics Command, moves to Naval Headquarters as Director Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate.”

    Dahun added that Rear Adm. Henry Babalola retained his position as Chief of Policy and Plans Naval Headquarters, while Rear Adm. J. Oluwole, formerly FOC Eastern Naval Command would resume at the Naval Headquarters as Chief of Logistics.

    Also affected in the reshufflement is Rear Adm. A. Osinowo, formerly Chief of Training and Operations, Naval Headquarters, who is now the Commandant, National Defence College.

    The director noted that Rear Adm. Ferguson Bobai, formerly FOC, Western Naval Command, would move to Naval Headquarters as Chief of Training and Operations.

    He added that Rear Adm. BEE Ibe-Enwo, formerly FOC Logistics Command, would resume at Naval Headquarters as Chief of Naval Standards and Safety.

    Also, Rear Adm. Ifeola Mohammed, formerly FOC, Naval Training Command, is now appointed Deputy Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji.

    Rear Adm. T. Dick, formerly Chief of Logistics has been reappointed Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters.

    Rear Adm. M. Emuekpere, formerly Director of Naval Intelligence is now Chief Staff Officer, Western Naval Command, while Rear Adm. N. Aliyu, formerly Chief Staff Officer, Naval Training Command moves to DIA as Director of Logistics.

    Rear Adm. SI Enoch, formerly Chief Staff Officer Central Naval Command, has been appointed Director of Search and Rescue at the Defence Headquarters.

    Dahun also stated that Rear Adm. M. Kadiri, formerly Commandant, Naval War College, has been moved to the Navy Secretary, while Rear Adm. T. Udofia, formerly Chief Staff Officer, Western Naval Command, is now the Commandant, Naval War College.

    Rear Adm. O. Ngalabak, formerly Fleet Commander, Central Fleet, has been appointed Director of Operations, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Adm. F. Ogu, formerly Director, Manning Naval Headquarters, would resume as Chief Staff Officer, Central Naval Command.

    Also, Rear Adm. A. Gambo, formerly Director of Search and Rescue, Defence Headquarters, would resume as Chief Staff Officer, Naval Training Command.

  • Customs CG approves redeployment of 48 comptrollers

    The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Retired Col. Hameed Ali, has approved the redeployment of 48 comptrollers for more effective and efficient service delivery.

    The redeployment was announced in a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah, on Thursday in Abuja.

    The statement said that the redeployment was in line with the ongoing reforms of the service.

    It said that Comptroller Madugu Mustapha was moved from Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Command to Open Company, while Comptroller Udo-aka, E.A was moved from Investigation to Oyo/Osun Command, among others.

    According to the statement, the CGC compliance team has been disbanded, adding that a new team would soon be reconstituted.

    “The new compliance team is divided into three, Team A for Western axis, Team B for Northern axis and Team C for Eastern axis.

    “They are to complement the Federal Operation Units in order to vigorously crackdown on all forms of smuggling activities nationwide with particular focus on the enforcement of non-importation of rice and vehicles through the land borders,” the statement said.

    It said that the new CGC compliance team would be coordinated by Comptroller Azarema Ahmed, who was until the appointment, Comptroller, License and Permit at the headquarter.

    The statement said that each of the axes would be led by an Assistant Comptrollers.

    It said that the CGC expressed his determination to strategically reposition the service as a crucial contributor to the success story of the nation, adding that “all revenue leakages must be blocked.”

    The statement said that the CGC called on all stakeholders to support the service by being compliant as well as provide needed information for the operatives to nip smuggling in the bud.

    The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Muhammad Babandede has approved the redeployment of 207 senior officers of the Service.

    Those affected were between the ranks of Asst. Comptroller-General and Comptroller.‎

    They include ACG Ezekiel Kaura who now heads the ICT Department; Chizoba Dibi has been promoted to ACG and posted to Zone ‘G’ in Benin as Zonal Coordinator; ACG Hamman Yerima from Delta State Command to the Investigation and Intelligence Directorate at the Headquarters, Abuja.

    CIS Epuku Usman takes over as the Comptroller, Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos as CIS Felix Odika heads the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Command, Abuja.

    Also affected is Ekpedeme King, the Service Public Relations Officer who has been promoted to the rank of Comptroller and deployed to head the Anambra State Command.

    Similarly, 37 Passport Control Officers have been redeployed in a posting order, which was said to be “in line with the implementation of the new posting policy of the NIS”.

    The CGI noted that he was impressed that unlike previous postings, the NIS did not witness requests from outside the Service for certain officers to be posted to particular offices.

    He added that the redeployment was a strategic move to leverage on the recent gains achieved in service delivery.

    Therefore, I am mandating you to ensure the sustainability of the Service reforms in all NIS platforms. What you did to receive commendations in your previous posts, do the same in your new offices.

    As a matter of fact, you are hereby mandated to implement the NIS Strategic Roadmap towards 2019 that was developed through a painstaking and extensive consultation process at the Management Retreat in 2016, copies of which will be made available to you in due course”, he said.

     

  • Buhari approves redeployment of 3 permanent secretaries

    President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the redeployment of three Federal Permanent Secretaries.

    A statement by Haruna Imrana ,Director of Communications, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), said that the circular conveying the deployment was signed by the HCSF, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita,

    Imrana said that the affected permanent secretaries, include Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, Federal Ministry of Education to the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

    Dr Jamila Shu’ara, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, was moved to Federal Ministry of Education.

    Mr Christian Chineyekka Ohaa of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports was deployed to Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

    According to the statement, the handing over of the affected permanent secretaries should be completed on or before Tuesday Jan.10.

    The Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, has approved the redeployment of eight Assistant Comptrollers-General and 238 Deputy Comptrollers of Customs.

    The affected Assistant Comptrollers-General affected are:

    • Charles Edike from Zone A to Human Resource Development (HRD)
    • Ahmed Mohammed from HRD to Zone B
    • Aminu Dangaladima from Zone B to Enforcement
    • Francis Dosumu from Enforcement to Zone D
    • Augustine Chidi from Zone D to Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives (Ex, FTZ, & I I)
    • Monday Abueh from Ex, FTZ, & I I to Zone A
    • Umar Sanusi from HQ to Zone C
    • Abdulkadir Azerema from Zone C to HQ

    The redeployment of Deputy Comptrollers of Customs affected the Service Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeniyi, who is now posted to Apapa Customs Area Command, Lagos.

    “As all the affected officers report at their new Zones and Commands, the Comptroller-General reiterated Federal Government’s ban on importation of rice and vehicles through the land borders,” a statement by Joseph Attah, Custom’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, said on Tuesday.

    “He charged all Officers and Men of the Service to ensure maximum collection of revenue and strict implementation of fiscal policy of Government.”

    In a bid to strengthen operations and reposition the Nigerian custom service to meet the challenges of the new year 2017, the Comptroller-General (CG) of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd), has approved the redeployment of 8 Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACG) and 238 Deputy Comptrollers (DC) of Customs.

    The redeployment which takes immediate effect is intended.

    Assistant Comptrollers-General affected are:

    • ACG Charles Edike from Zone A to Human Resource
    • ACG Ahmed Mohammed from HRD to Zone B
    • ACG Aminu Dangaladima from Zone B to Enforcement
    • ACG Francis Dosumu from Enforcement to Zone D
