    Nigerian pop star, Reekado Banks has said that contrary to what many believe, he is still making money as an artiste.He revealed that he has been booked throughout the month of Decemeber, adding that his finances are not declining .

    “Every artiste should know how to quantify their success. This year has not ended, but I have made more money than I did last year or the previous year. It is just the perception of some people who think this year has not been good for Reekado. I’ve made more than double of what I made last year. So, if you think last year was good for Reekado, I can confidently tell you that this year is far better.

    “I am sure Tiwa Savage would not say that this year hasn’t been a good one. She dropped hit songs and she is fully booked for December. I am fully booked for December too and the same thing applies to other artistes under Mavin. So, I don’t understand why people are comparing last year with this year.”

    Soulful singer, Reekado Banks who recently slammed DJ Xclusive for eliminating his vocals from a song has declared that he cannot record a diss track for an artiste.

    A diss song is a song primarily intended to disrespect a person or group. While musical parodies and attacks have always existed, the trend became increasingly common in the hip hop genre fueled by the hip hop rivalry phenomenon.

    He puts it this way:” I cannot do a diss track. I won’t do that. I believe every issue can be resolved without necessarily doing a diss track”.

    Reekado Banks record deal with Mavin Records came as a result of his brother submitting some of his songs to the label in an online talent search. Reekado Banks got signed to Mavin Records after his entries were selected from over 5000 entries

    Hear him: “I don’t feel pressured to show off what I own. Things I own are not the things the youths will go crazy about. I am not a car freak, I am property guy.I like lands. Right now I own about ten. I have a house and I am building a school. I am not the kind of guy that will come and be showing off on social media”.

     

    When asked If he has plans to purchase a private jet, he said:”Getting a jet is not a priority right now”.

    Like a child whose food has been snatched by a predator, Oluwa Ni singer , Rekado Banks cried out on social media .He lamented on Twitter over DJ Xclusive not giving him his due credit on he song he collaborated with the respected DJ on.

    According to reports , DJ Xclusive reportedly recorded a song with Reekado Banks only to take his part out, while Mr Eazi and Flavour got themselves on his new single “As e dey hot” which many have said led to Reekado’s social media outburst. In his angry state, the Mavin artiste took to his Twitter handle throwing jabs at Xclusive.

    He wrote on Twitter:” No disrespect but you messed up big time bro @DJXclusive. How do you beg for a song and then take me out without telling me?” he wrote on Twitter.

     

    Retracing his steps after much thought and consultation, Reekado Banks has apologized for his outburst. He wrote on Twitter:” Man Like X, much love for you and no disrespect still..”

    Mavin Records artiste, Reekado Banks is one dude who makes the ladies drool not just because of his voice, but also because of his vocal dexterity. The Katapot singer who was born into a Christian family has stated that his dad advised him to hold on to Jesus Christ, when he told him about his plans to pursue music as a career.

    Speaking with Punch in an interview, he said:”My parents have always been supportive and they want the best for their children. When I initially told my mother about my intention, she had no problem with it. She then told my dad and he was okay with it too but said he wanted to be sure that I wouldn’t leave Jesus Christ.”

    The singer further said nothing has changed about him since becoming a super star. According to him:“I am still the same person I used to be. I do every other thing I want but I no longer have the liberty of walking on the street or going to some certain places I would have loved to go. I have always been the indoor type and even when I was in the University of Lagos, I never went to clubs or things like that.”

    In his words:” I am a business man it doesn’t matter how old I am. I want to be really wealthy and farming is a sector that has a handful of this wealth. My dad owned a farm and I usually run it. He only had poultry and I was very interested in it. It only makes sense to do it on a large scale now. “

    The Oluwa Ni singer also talks about his forthcoming Thank You Concert.
