2023 Elections: Tinubu is a better candidate than Peter Obi

Ahead of next year’s general election in the country, Socio-political crusader, Reno Omokri, has opined that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) is better than the Labour Party,  candidate, Peter Obi.

Omokri said that Tinubu is a far better candidate than Peter Obi and Many other politicians when it comes to leadership.

He explained that the APC flag bearer has a better performance record than Obi.

In a tweet, Omokri noted that Tinubu has the capacity to listen to his subordinates.

His tweet reads “Tinubu is not a bad leader. He is actually a better leader than most Nigerian politicians. He has the capacity to listen to subordinates.

“He also has a much better performance record than Obi. My point of departure is drugs. A drug lord belongs in jail, not Aso Rock.”

Recently, Tinubu got Nigerians talking when he delegated questions directed at him to his team in Chatham House in London.

He had directed questions to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, the Director of Strategic Communication of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, and a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, Wale Edun.

Tinubu was, however, criticized for delegating questions to his team during the outing.

However, the APC has rallied round him, saying that the APC presidential candidate has got a working team.

Reno Omokri stages protest against Tinubu, but see the blunder that has Nigerians talking

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri on Monday led a protest aimed at harassing the All Progressives Congress’ presidential flagbearer Bola Ahmed Tinubu out of London.

Tinubu is in London to address the British Royal Institute on the 2023 general elections, with a focus on national security, economic and foreign policy imperatives.

Tweeting about the protest on Monday, he wrote: “Tinubu will never forget the protest we just pulled off at Chatham House. He was disgraced and could not get out of his car. He had to run away. The #HarassTinubuOutofLondon Protest Against Drug Lord Tinubu at Chatham House was a resounding success! We shook the drug lord Asiwaju”.

However, some Nigerians were quick to spot the message on one of the placards which showed support for Tinubu, and have called him out.

@Tony_OBG tweeted: “Little double-edged protest you carried out with a few number of people literally showed how disorganized, mischievous and confused that you are. The banners held by participants were in favour of Tinubu. How come you still rally for Atiku. @renoomokri pick a side.”

Another user. Kunle Gazali Sefiu commented: “You were seriously disgraced, they killed your negative intention and overshadowed you and your paymaster”.

However, TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) gathered that Tinubu addressed the British Royal Institute.

I can prove Tinubu is a known drug lord – Reno Omokri

A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has stated that the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a known drug lord.

Omokri also said that he can prove Tinubu truly has a drug case in the United States and he went to the court where he was tried in Chicago.

TheNewsGuru recalls that the United State District Court for the Northern District of Illinois recently released fresh documents detailing Tinubu’s encounter with American authorities, over allegations of narcotics trafficking and money laundering.

The US court records showed that the former governor of Lagos State had forfeited up to $460,000 to the United States authorities in plea bargaining.

Omokri who is a critic of the APC flagbearer wrote on Twitter: “Tinubu is a known drug lord. I proved it by going in person to the Chicago court where he was tried. But I won’t slander him and say he did not go to a school I verified he attended directly from the horse’s mouth. If you must “take me out” due to that, be my guest!”

Ex-SGF Babachir Lawal endorsing Obi on Tinubu’s instruction – Omokri alleges

A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has made an allegation that former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is working on Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s instruction to endorse Labour Party flagbearer Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 election.

TheNewsGuru.com reports that Omokri stated the reason why the ex-SGF is endorsing Obi is to dilute the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar vote in the north.

In a recent tweet, Omokri also alleged that Babachir was made SGF by Tinubu.

He wrote: ‘Babachir Lawal works for Tinubu. He was made Secretary to the Government of the Federation by Tinubu. He was protected from EFCC by Tinubu. He is endorsing Peter Obi on Tinubu’s instruction, to dilute Atiku’s Northern votes. Northern Christians, refused to be used!’

  • Why appointment of Fani-Kayode as Tinubu spokesperson was one of my happiest days – Omokri

Why appointment of Fani-Kayode as Tinubu spokesperson was one of my happiest days – Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has lashed out at presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, stressing that the appointment of Femi Fani-Kayode as the latter’s spokesperson ahead of the 2023 presidential election was one of his happiest days this year.

In his words: “One of the happiest days of this year for me was the day Tinubu appointed Femi Fani-Kayode as one of his spokesmen. This is a man who said on video that as long as Christ lives, Tinubu will never be President.”

Recounting how Fani-Kayode had in the past sworn that Tinubu “will never be President as long as Christ lives”

Omokri claimed that the APC presidential candidate cursed himself with the appointment.

He also said that Tinubu cursed himself by appointing Fani-Kayode as his spokesperson.

“Then Tinubu added his ‘amen’ by appointing him his spokesman! Tinubu cursed himself. Even Tinubu knows that you cannot stop a ‘church rat from eating a poisoned holy communion’. As long as he rejected FFK, he rejected that prayer. But by embracing FFK, he embraced that prayer,” Omokri asserted.

Omokri is a Nigerian author and social media influencer. He was the host of Transformation with Reno Omokri, a Christian teaching TV show broadcast (for one season) on San Francisco’s KTLN-TV and Detroit’s Impact Network.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Omokri is a Vice President of Joe Trippi and Associates, a U.S political consulting firm.

As the Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, he was noted for using social media to conduct surveys and draw attention to the projects of the Nigerian Government.

In 2011, Omokri called for Nigerians living outside Nigeria, to endorse Jonathan for the 2011 elections. He was a signatory of a letter by a group known as G 57 that called for the resignation of Yar’adua.

Between 2015 and 2016, Omokri was the host of Transformations With Reno Omokri, a Christian teaching program broadcast on Comcast, DISH Network and Roku. The 30-minute weekly telecast was produced by the Mind of Christ Christian Center in California.

Since 29 May 2015, Omokri has continued to be opposed to the policies of the current Nigerian government and has had conflicts with the Nigerian authorities. He has also been a noted conservative, calling for a restoration of the moral fabric of society.

  • APC’s Keyamo, PDP’s Omokri accuse Peter Obi of messing up Nigeria’s politics

APC’s Keyamo, PDP’s Omokri accuse Peter Obi of messing up Nigeria’s politics

The Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN) and former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, have accused the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, of disrupting the political space in the country.

Omokri, a staunch supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, stated this late Saturday in reaction to the rallies held across the country by the supporters of Obi for the 2023 presidential election.

Describing the rallies as great achievements, he noted that the Obidient movement should not be disregarded by anyone who was politically conscious.

“The Obidient rallies at Festac and Amuwo were amazing. They are great achievements. Anyone who tries to belittle them is not politically astute. While Obi will not win in 2023, he has successfully disrupted politics in Nigeria. Well done Obi! Well done Obidients!”, he tweeted.

TheNewsGuru.com reported that the Obidents rallied at Lekki in Lagos, and other parts of the country on Saturday, October 1.

However, in an earlier tweet, Omokri had said that the rallies were just a show of force by southeastern traders who closed down their shops.

“These so called ‘one million man marches’ are mostly a gathering of traders in various Nigerian towns and cities, who close down their markets (that are heavily dominated by people of southeastern origin), to do what in the military is called a show of force,” he tweeted.

The Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has also reacted to the rallies by the Obidients on Saturday.

Mocking the supporters of Obi, Keyamo said the rallying Obidients were not more than a thousand people who were not more than the electorate needed at two polling units.

“The aerial shots are the best. Now, look at this: at best the ‘crowd’ here is not more than a thousand people which is approximately just two polling units,” he quote-tweeted a video from one of the rallies.

Tinubu is far better than Peter Obi – Reno Omokri

A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri,  has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a better leader than Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Omokri, while outlining Tinubu’s achievements in series of tweets, explained Obi lacks the characteristics necessary to lead the country compared to the former governor of Lagos State.

He described how both presidential candidates led their respective States, stating Obi invested Anambra resources at a loss but Tinubu invested Lagos resources to make huge profit for the state.

His tweet reads: “In terms of how they governed their states, Peter Obi is no match for Tinubu. Tinubu invested Lagos money in Econet and made a huge profit. Obi invested Anambra money in SABMIller and got a massive loss. But are we ready for this conversation without altercation? #TableShaker

“In terms of managing men and money, Tinubu is far better than Obi, though I agree he is a crook. He increased Lagos’s IGR revenue far better than Obi did in Anambra. And he installed successors that are loyal to him, while Obiano fell out with Obi within months! #TableShaker.”

  • Reno Omokri mocks Tinubu, says “emilokan, where are your certificates”

Former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan and activist Pastor, Reno Omokri over the weekend took on APC presidential flag bearer, Ahmed Tinubu demanding he shows his certificate.

    Hear him:

Emilokan, where are your certificates? The only reason Tinubu now claims that he did not attend any primary or secondary school is that if he comes clean about his early education, it will expose other lies he has told Nigerians about his true age and name.

Tinubu, what is your real name and age?

How could Tinubu have been accepted to a university without prerequisite certificates? Tell us the names of your primary and secondary schools so we can track your classmates.

Are Nigerians going to vote for a man who did not exist until he miraculously jumped primary and secondary school and went straight to university? A ghost? Bola Tinubu show us your certificates!

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, has told the electoral commission INEC that he didn’t attend primary and secondary schools.

The former Lagos governor, however, claimed he had two degrees from two American universities, which he further stated had been stolen by unknown soldiers during the military junta of the 1990s.

The disclosures came in an affidavit submitted by Mr Tinubu to the electoral office as part of his eligibility filings for the 2023 presidential elections.

The documents released on Friday showed Mr Tinubu left the columns for his primary and secondary education unmarked. But he said he obtained a degree in business and administration in 1979, apparently referring to his previous claims of attending the Chicago State University.

“I went on self-exile from October 1994 to October 1998. When I returned I discovered that all my property, including all the documents relating to my qualifications and my certificates in respect of paragraph three above, were looted by unknown persons.

“My house was a target of a series of searches by various security agents from the time the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was forced to adjourn following the military takeover of the government of 17th November 1993.

  • “You lack common sense”- Actress, Nkechi Blessing tells Omokri

Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has lambasted the ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, for linking her to the National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

    Nkechi
    Reno Omokri

Omokri, while reacting to the viral video of Tinubu where he took the credit for Buhari’s emergence in 2015, likened the former Lagos State Governor to Blessing and another Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh.

He claimed Tinubu behaves like Blessing and Tonto Dikeh, who are exploding on the internet after they were promised marriage but never got to the altar.

    Nkechi
    Nkechi Blessing

Omokri wrote on Twitter: “Tinubu is just behaving like Tonto Dikeh and Nkechi Blessing. Like a woman who was promised marriage and jilted and is now exploding and exposing the jilter. Buhari don buy market. He either builds another ‘other room’ for Tinubu, or marries him as promised!”

In response to Omokri’s jab, Nkechi said Omokri should not allow God to punish him, adding that he doesn’t have common sense.

“I used to think you have sense but it’s obvious you lack common sense. Why put me in this context in the first place? Welcome to Nigeria, when a relationship ends, automatically it’s the man that left the woman…I for like talk more but Instagram guidelines won’t allow. Mr Reno leave my name out of your mouth..no let God P#nish you,” Nkechi wrote on Instagram.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that sometime August 2020, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, ‌Babachir Lawal, spoke of how the former governor of Lagos State (Bola Tinubu) raised money for then-candidate Muhammadu Buhari to win the 2015 presidential election.

Lawal, who was removed from office for alleged misappropriation of funds, stated that it was Tinubu who raised funds for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to defeat the then President, Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2015.

Lawal argued that Buhari and his supporters had no money to win an election except “ideas, zeal and fanaticism”.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu

“Tinubu, who had his tentacles spread across the corporate world, was the only man who knew where and how to raise the funds needed. He was the one that reached out to all the ‘big men’ who were at the time scared of the then President Goodluck Jonathan.

“These were all rich men that depended on the government’s patronage. But somehow, Tinubu was able to persuade some of them to support Buhari. We had so many experiences, Timipre Sylva (now Minister of State for Petroleum Resources) and I thought we could do it but found out we couldn’t until Tinubu came in and we won the election,” he said.

Lawal said Tinubu spent enormous money “out of his pocket” to finance the party’s campaign.

He said Tinubu was responsible for the lobby of a U. S. consultant who handled President Barrack Obama’s campaign and they did the same for Nigeria’s current president.

  • If AGF can steal N80bn, ASUU have no reason to end strike – Reno Omokri

If AGF can steal N80bn, ASUU have no reason to end strike – Reno Omokri

Dear ASUU, If the Accountant General of the Federation can steal ₦80 billion, then you have no reason to end your strike,” said ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s former aide, Reno Omokri.

He stated this in a tweet on Tuesday after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission announced the arrest of the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris, for alleged involvement in fraud and money laundering worth N80 billion.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) had reported that Nigeria’s accountant-general was arrested on Monday “after failing to honour invitations” by EFCC to respond to the allegations.

He encouraged the lecturers should insist that the Federal Government pays them with the N80 billion allegedly stolen by the arrested head of Nigeria’s treasury.

Omokri wrote, ”Ask Buhari to use the stolen ₦80 billion to pay you and then keep the change. After all, the money you are asking for is not even up to ₦80 billion!

“Just look at how morally bankrupt Nigeria is. The same Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, married a 16-year-old girl and he was not sacked or arrested by Buhari.”

EFCC had said Idris “raked off the funds through bogus consultancies and other illegal activities using proxies, family members and close associates.”

The proceeds were invested by Idris in real estate in the capital Abuja and in his home state of Kano in northern Nigeria, it said in a statement issued late Monday.

On February 15, ASUU began a four-week rollover strike following the Federal Government’s failure to meet its demands.

The National President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, said the decision was taken after the union’s National Executive Committee meeting.

Osodeke said since the last meeting the union had with the federal government in December 2021, it had not received any formal invitation from the government.

ASUU extended the action by another two months to afford the government more time to address all of its demands.

The union also accused the government of displaying an indifferent attitude toward its demands.

Osodeke, in a statement to announce the extension of the rollover strike, noted that the national executive council of the union “was disappointed that Government did not treat the matters involved with utmost urgency they deserved during the four-week period as expected of a reasonable, responsive, and well-meaning administration”.

He said the NEC concluded that the government had failed to satisfactorily address all the issues raised in the 2020 Memorandum of Action within the four-week roll-over strike period and resolved that the strike be rolled over for another eight weeks.

Osodeke said the strike continues over the government’s failure to “satisfactorily” implement the Memorandum of Action it signed with the Union in December 2020 on funding for revitalisation of public universities (both Federal and States), renegotiation of the 2009 ASUU Agreement and the deployment of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution.

Other demands of the union as listed by ASUU include Earned Academic Allowances, State Universities, promotion arrears, withheld salaries, and non-remittance of third-party deductions.
