    Rihanna announces release of new single she wrote with Tems

    Music star, Robyn Fenty popularly known as Rihanna, has announced the release of her new single she wrote with Nigeria’s Tems, the first after a six-year hiatus from the music industry.

    “Lift Me Up” was also written with music producer, Ludwig Göransson; and Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler, Billboard reports.

    Rihanna, who has in the past years focused on her thriving fashion and beauty empire, will be releasing “Lift Me Up”, a soundtrack to Marvel movie, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’

    Rihanna teased a video of the track via her Twitter page on Wednesday, and captioned the post, “Lift me up. 10.28.2022.”

    The track which will be released on November 4, was written as a tribute to the lead star of the first Black Panther film, Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 at the age of 43.

    In a press statement, Tems said, “After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life.

    “I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them

    “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”

    Tems had earlier featured on one of the movie’s soundtracks, with her rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.”

    Rihanna has not released any project since she dropped her album, Anti, in 2016. Her most recent work, is a short chorus on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s Believe it, releases in 2020.

    Set to hit theatres by November 11, 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the much anticipated sequel to the 2018 Black Panther film.

    Popular Barbadian singer, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna, and her lover, ASAP Rocky, have welcomed their first child together.

     

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Rihanna gave birth on May 13 in Los Angeles.

    However, the couple are yet to disclose his name.

     

    Recall that the Barbadian singer officially announced she was pregnant in January which went viral on the internet.

     

    Since her announcement, the business mogul had been seen attending shows and public functions barring her baby bum.

     

    Rihanna revealed that she refused to hide her pregnancy because it is a thing of celebration.

     

    The singer had also disclosed she is scared of postpartum depression.

     

    Meanwhile, American singer, Christopher Maurice Brown, well known as Chris Brown, appears to be offering congratulations to A$AP Rocky and Rihanna on their newborn baby.

     

    On Thursday (May 19), a short time after news broke that A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s child had been born, Chris Breezy put up a post on his Instagram Story that seemingly shows him sending well wishes to the happy couple.

     

    “Congratulations,” the post reads, along with a heart, praying hands and pregnant person emoji.

    Naturally, the post drew mixed reactions on social media, considering Chris Brown’s infamous past with Rihanna. The two entertainers dated in the late 2000s. However, the relationship ended when Chris assaulted Rihanna in 2009. He received five years of probation for the crime.

     

    “Chris brown I get it but you gotta let it go brova ??????,” one person reacted to Chris’ post on Twitter. And BREEZY congratulated Rihanna. Really sweet and mature @chrisbrown,” someone else posted. The problem with Chris Brown ‘congratulating’ Rih is that he’s NEVER shown that energy with his own children’s mothers,” another person added.

     

    This is not the first time Chris Brown has reached out to the Barbadian singer on social media.

     

    In 2019, he jumped into the comment section of one of her Instagram posts, called her a queen and inquired about her new album.

     

    News broke of the birth of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s child today.

     

    A$AP Rocky and the Barbadian singer came out officially as a couple in November 2022. They revealed RiRi was with child back in January, when the pop star showed off her baby bump.

     

    This is both A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s first child.

    Speaking with the Vogue, Rihanna who was featured on the May cover story disclosed that being pregnant is a thing of celebration which should not be hidden.

    Rihanna revealed in a magazine interview the Vogue that she chose not to buy maternity gowns, saying that she doesn’t want to hide her pregnancy.

    In her words “When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, there is no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle.

    “ My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that, This time should feel celebratory because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?

    “I’m sorry, it’s too much fun to get dressed up and I am not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing,” she said.

    Rihanna urged the society to redefine “what is considered decent” for pregnant women.

    When asked what frightens her the most about pregnancy, Rihana said, “Postpartum depression”

    “I ask myself will I feel out of control emotionally? Those are the stories I hear from other women that scare me.”

    Nigerian on-the rise singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, finally met global star Rihanna at the latter’s event in Los Angeles, the United States.

    Tems manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, shared the video of their meeting on his Instagram page on Thursday, with the caption, “A moment to remember. @temsbaby x @badgalriri link up.”

    Known for her feature in Wizkid’s groundbreaking song, “Essence”, Tems attended Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty fashion show and the duo was so excited to see each other at the event.

    On seeing Tems, Rihanna screamed “Oh my God!” and they hugged each other, chatting away like old buddies.

    Their meeting has triggered various reactions on social media.

    Popular pop star artist Rihanna Robyn Fenty has dropped her lawsuit against her dad Ronald Fenty. This is coming years after accusing him of using her fame in his favour.

    Rihanna, who was to appear in court on 22 September, approached the court to seek dismissal for her lawsuit against her dad, stating that she wants to reach an agreement outside of court, in order to avert a spectacle around their legal proceedings.

    Rihanna’s legal action against her dad was instituted in 2019, alleging that he was using the family name to promote his venture Fenty Entertainment in 2019, alongside Mr Moses Perkins, who she alleged has been soliciting business by falsely acting as her agent.

    Despite having no authority to act on his daughter’s behalf, Ronald is said to have booked her on a $15million tour in Latin America and two concerts, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000.

    While Rihanna was taking legal action against her father, the two remained in contact.

    Rihanna’s other fortune comes from her lingerie company, which is worth another $270 million while not forgetting her branded earrings.

    The revered singer in a recent interview stated her mother revealed her real origin to her as she noted she is primarily an Igbo woman.

    She said: “My mom told me that I am originally an Igbo woman. Igbo is a tribe in Africa.”

    Aside from music, Rihanna is known for her involvement in humanitarian causes, entrepreneurial ventures, and the fashion industry. She is the founder of the nonprofit organisation Clara Lionel Foundation, cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, and fashion house Fenty under LVM.

    Renowned singer, Robyn Fenty aka Rihanna, has been declared a billionaire by American business magazine, Forbes.

    The magazine stated that Rihanna achieved the feat due to a cosmetic company, Fenty Beauty, which she launched in 2017.

    With a worth of $1.7 billion, Rihanna is now the wealthiest female musician in the world. She comes second to Oprah Winfrey who is the richest female entertainer in the world.

    The singer owns 50 per cent of Fenty Beauty which produced an estimated $1.4 billion of her wealth, with the rest coming mostly from music.

    The other 50 per cent of the cosmetic company is controlled by French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH.

    Her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, which was launched in 2018 raised $115 million in funding.

    However, it is not everything touched by the singer that turns to gold.

    Forbes reported that LVMH and Rihanna confirmed that they “shut down their other venture, a high-end fashion and accessories house also called Fenty. Launched in 2019, Fenty sought to extend Rihanna’s brand of inclusivity and offer styles in a range of sizes. But like many luxury fashion brands, the high-priced line suffered during the pandemic, releasing its last collection in November 2020.”

    Barbadian singer,Rihanna Fenty and LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, French multinational luxury conglomerate, have decided to put the Fenty fashion line on hold — less than two years after its launch.

    According to WWD, LVMH and Rihanna issued a joint statement wherein it noted that the fashion label will be put on hold “pending better conditions.”

    The statement, however, added that the luxury giant will focus on growing ‘Savage X Fenty’, Rihanna’s lingerie line, as well as ‘Fenty Beauty’ and ‘Fenty Skin’, her cosmetic lines.

    “Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions,” the statement read.

    “Following the completion of a fundraising round where L Catterton has taken a stake into Savage X Fenty, LVMH and Rihanna reaffirm their ambition to concentrate on the growth and the long-term development of Fenty ecosystem focusing on cosmetics, skincare and lingerie.”

    It is understood that the e-commerce site – the main distribution channel for Fenty fashions – will go dark in the next few weeks.

    Rihanna is, however, yet to comment on the development on her social media platforms.

    On December 1, the Mavins Records boss had reacted to news that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have started dating again officially again.

    He had also taken to his Twitter page on Friday to react to another report which claimed Rihanna remains “very happy” in her relationship with the rapper.

    “Goodnight guys”, he had captioned the terse post, ostensibly registering his concern over the possibility of dating the ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ singer.

    In another post on Monday, the 38-year-old said he “really needs a new bae”, predicting that Rihanna would get pregnant soon.

    “I really need a new bae. Cos e don sure say Rihanna go get belle ASAP,” he wrote on Twitter.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that back in 2019, Don Jazzy revealed that he is yet to marry because of a conflict of choice.

    “There are a lot of amazing people, that’s why I can’t pick one. It doesn’t have anything to do with my status. I have trust issues but I feel like even if I wasn’t Don Jazzy, I probably would be the same,” he had said.

    Vee was watching out for Ozo after it was looking like Ozo wanted to share the luxury lounge with Nengi.

    “We just want to make sure you don’t get that third strike. So, apply sense. When the light goes off, you leave the Head of House lounge…” Vee cautioned Ozo.
