    The couple got married in 2022 and celebrated with friends in the United Kingdom during their white wedding ceremony on Saturday, November 26.

    Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, has addressed rumours suggesting that she stopped the press from doing their job during a birthday party in Ghana.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the thespian, via Instagram on Monday, March 24, 2025, dismissed the rumours, describing it as entirely false.

    The veteran actress further emphasized her understanding on the nature of her public life regarding her profession and the role of the press.

    According to the movie star, it would be lame to prevent the media from doing their work publicly, urging the public to stop spreading unfounded stories that do not make sense.

    She wrote, “Duhh! A person who does the kind of job I do and is out in a public place would not stop the press from doing their job. That’s lame. Stop making up stories that don’t make sense.”

    Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has responded to the mockery of an X user, who shamed her for accepting  a movie role considered beneath her status in the film industry.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the movie critic while reacting to Dominic’s feature in the Lekki Wive’s reality show, claimed that the show was beneath the thespian’s status, adding that there are specific projects that she should outgrow.

    The post read, “There are certain projects your brand should outgrow, because why is Rita Dominic in lekki wives or whatever it is called? Common.”

    In response, the veteran replied that only people without artistic integrity believe they are more important than the industry that birth them.

    The veteran actress also urged her colleagues never to listen to such people, after which, emphasized the importance of artistic integrity.

    She reminded them that their creative expression should not be hindered by empty comments.

    She wrote, “Dear Actors, only people who have no single drop of artistic integrity speak like this. If you listen to them you will soon begin to believe you are more important than the industry that birth you.

    “You are an ACTOR, so make sure to find a way or platform to release the creative energy in you. Continue to hone your skills regardless of empty comments like this cos knowledge is never ending – yours truly, Rita.”

    Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has revealed how a group of marketers used their influence to ban her from the movie industry.

    The seasoned actress stated in an interview that the marketers, who at the time were considered the Nollywood movie industry‘s mini-gods, had barred her from the industry.

    In her statement, she said, “Before I decided to become a producer and form our company, I was silently banned.

    In her words:

    “I was banned from Nollywood silently by marketers because they were the mini-gods of Nollywood.

    “They banned me because I was trying to do things differently, I just felt like it got to a point where if you want to acquire the services of an actor, it is best to talk to their management about it”.

    Rita Dominic reveals amount of money recieved for her first movie role

    Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has said she recieved N10,000 for her inaugural movie role.

    She revealed this detail during a recent interview with Joy 99.7 FM in Ghana.

    The thespian said when she started acting, Nollywood wasn’t lucrative but she was driven by her passion.

    “I just wanted to be an actor. And to be honest, there was no money in Nollywood back then. We were just doing it for passion. We have the passion for the art which was what fuelled us.

    “It was very challenging. But we just kept doing it until the industry got bigger and bigger. And obviously, the pay became much better.”

    Asked about the lowest amount she has ever received for a movie role, she said: “The first film I did, the filmmaker paid me N35,000. But he owed me N25,000 for how many months. In fact, he didn’t even pay me the balance. He paid me only N10,000.”

    Popular Nollywood actress Rita Dominic reveals why she waited too long to before getting married.

    The actress in 2022 got married to Fidelis Anosike in her 40s

    Speaking in a recent interview, she revealed that she wanted to be sure she was marrying for the right reasons and not societal pressure.

    She noted how she would be the one to pick up the pieces if her marriage failed which was why she wasn’t fazed by the increasing pressure from the society.

    The season actress added that though she met a lot of good men, they weren’t compatible and she doesn’t force relationships when it’s clearly not working.

    • In her words,  “Marriage is nice and interesting. We were friends for a long time and then we found love, and then we dated and we got married.

    ” I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for societal pressure. There was pressure for me before I got married, it was for years. I just turned a deaf ear. I always said I would marry the man of my dreams and not the man the society dreams for me because if anything happens to me tomorrow, I would be the one to pack up the pieces and not the society. So I would do it when I wanted to do it and it would be the right time and I believed I did it at the right time and with the right person. I met a number of good people but it just didn’t happen or work out. I don’t believe in forcing things, if it’s not working, it isn’t working. If you aren’t compatible, there is no point forcing things and then tomorrow you are out of it”.

    The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka-Rollas has appointed Nollywood actress Rita as special advisers.

    Rollas made the appointments at a stakeholders event in Lagos.

    Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has denied speculations making rounds of welcoming twins with her spouse, Fidelis Anosike.

    Social media on Sunday was on tenterhooks with reports of the movie star giving birth to new babies.

    The reports sparked excitement and jubilation among some of her fans and celebrities.

    Rita, on twitter, referenced a blog that also shared the reports as she dispels the rumor with a meme featuring a young girl rolling her eyes, accompanied by the caption, “you know you lying.”

    Also, while responding to some tweets on her handle, the thespian said people should stop lying to the public about reports of welcoming twins.

    It is no longer news that famous actress, Rita Dominic, and her husband, Fidelis Anosike, tied the knot in London on 26 November 2022 but the internet is still yet to get over their grand wedding following a video that surfaced as a veteran actress, Kate Henshaw, wept with her friend.

    In the teary-eyed video, Kate was seen struggling to hold back her tears as she watched her friend (Rita) cry while getting ready for her wedding.

    Her Chief Bridesmaids, Michelle Dede, who was right beside her, comforted her.

    It would be recalled that Rita tied the knot with the love of her life (Fidelis), in a grand style in North Yorkshire, England..

    The duo tied the knot in London on 26 November.

    In fact, in April and November, Rita was on the lips of Nollywood stars as she finally tied the knot at age 47.

    Rita, shut down the internet with her two-part fairytale wedding, a traditional and White wedding.

    Other Nollywood celebrities present at the wedding ceremony were Chioma Akpotha, Blessing Egbe and Mildred Okwo.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) had earlier reported that Rita had her traditional wedding to Anosike, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Folio Group, at her family house in Aboh, Mbaise, Imo State.

    Recall that earlier, in December 2021, Rita, one of the most eligible spinsters in the movie industry, had revealed on social media that she was in a relationship with Anosike.

    Videos posted on social media revealing her wedding ceremony showed Rita full of smiles, as she got ready for her big day.

    She wore an exquisite flowing lace gown, while her groom was dressed in a blue suit.

    The mansion, whose vintage design and ambiance reeked of luxury, was another highlight of the event. As the bridesmaids made their way into the hall, a pianist played the popular Fur Elise tune to usher them in slowly.
