    Nollywood actor, Uche Maduawgu, has lambast Genevieve Nnaji for not sending, at least, a congratulatory message to their colleague, Rita Dominic, who had her traditional wedding on Tuesday.

    In his words: “Wetin e go cost you to post a congratulatory message on social media? #wedding.”

    “If you wan smell marriage, attend that of others.”

    He berated Genevieve on Instagram for not attending Rita’s wedding.

    He added: “Whatever you celebrate you go attract, if you Wan smell marriage, attend the marriage ceremonies of others, or at least congratulate dem on social media.

    “Even if you no do am as colleagues, do am as sisters from the same State, even if you dey busy that you can not be there physically.

    “Wetin e go cost you to post a congratulatory message on social media? #wedding.”

    Many Nollywood actresses were in Owerri, including Joke Silva, Uche Jombo, Kate Henshaw, and Ini Edo.

    The event took place at Aboh, Mbaise, Imo State, at her late father’s compound, which is of course the home of the traditional ruler of the community, HRH, Eze Marcellenus J.O Waturuocha.

    Rita and her hubby, Fidelis Anosike arrived at her family compound around 1 pm to kick start the traditional marriage.

    Nollywood actors and actresses stormed Imo State to show support for one of their colleagues, Rita Dominic who is tying the knot.

    Ini Edo, Chioma Akpotha, Chidi Mokeme, Uche Jombo, Lilian Afegbai were among the few spotted at the hotel room where the Nollywood stars were lodged.

    In a video which made rounds, Rita Dominic went to their hotel rooms to greet them and the actresses who were overjoyed carried the bride to be up.

    Uche Jombo shared the video online as she promised to trouble timelines with photos from her wedding.

    “Tomorrow!!!? Singing we go dey trouble their timelineeeeee”.

    Ini Edo, Andrea Chika Chukwu, Mercy Johnson, Anita Joseph were among the few celebrities who commented.

If you would remember, there was a major blacklisting and some of them got a lot of flak for it.This was silent and I knew it.That was actually one of the things that made me started producing, to form the Audrey Silva Company with my business partner and we went on to produce our first film which was ‘The Meeting’.I starred in it”.

    Going down memory lane, Dominic said she used to participate in a lot of Tv shows as a child.

    “I used to participate in a lot of TV shows for children and then we were living in Aba in Abia State. I was really young then.So that is really where I actually started performing. We had this show called ‘Children’s Variety’ which took place I think every Saturday. Then ‘Junior opinions’ took place on Sundays. You would see me on these shows. I remember when we go to church, you have children calling my name, running after me”.

    Popular actress and movie producer, Rita Dominic has stated that young Nigerians need to take life easy. The co-founder of Audrey Silva Productions made this known as a guest on ‘Phantom Xtraordinaire Show’ hosted by reality Tv star, Tobi Bakre.

    Advising young Nigerians she said: “Be diligent with your work. Be serious about whatever you find yourself doing in life. Understand the need to evolve. It is important to evolve constantly because things change. Take life easy, everyone has their own time. We all have our time in life. That it happened at a certain time for A, doesn’t mean it won’t happen at a certain time for B.Just take life easy’.

    Asked about one of the highpoints in her career, Dominic said: “The film I featured in was screened at Toronto International Film Festival. ‘76’.We got really good reviews from foreign press. It was amazing.”

    She also opened up about her bucket list, adding that she would love to skydive

    “I want to skydive, I wonder when I would do that but it is on my list. I would also love to ice-skate in Switzerland. I really want to do that”.

    The fashionable actress also urged young talents in the industry to take their craft seriously.

    “There are so many young talented actors out there who are doing well and I appreciate them .However, I like an actor who understands that acting is a job and disciplined about it. I like when young actors understand it is a job and you have to take it seriously. You understand that when you are there to work, you are there to work and being professional about the whole filming process. I appreciate those ones.

    On the women who inspire her, Dominic said: “The Audrey Silva Company is named after two women who I greatly admire. Audrey Hepburn and Joke Silva. That is where Audrey Silva came from. There are so many actors and filmmakers that I have a lot of admiration for”.

    Popular actress, Rita Dominic has lamented over the state of insecurity in the country.

    In a Twitter post on Monday, the 45-year-old role interpreter said elected officials must do more to address the worsening state of things before they get out of hand.

    According to her, there must be concentrated efforts by the government to douse the rising pressure in the country for peace to reign.

    “I am afraid that we are watching Nigeria slip into anarchy. It is surreal. Our elected officials need to work harder to douse the tension in the country. We need peace to reign. Harassing and killing innocent citizens can never solve anything,” she wrote.

    “I always tell people that the wedding is nice but it is the marriage that is important. After the event is over, how would one feel about one’s spouse in the next 10 years? That has always been very important to me. I watched my parents be in love, grow old together and they were friends. There is no marriage that is easy. They had their shortcomings but they loved themselves till they died. They were that close that when my mother died, my dad never recovered from it. They were so close. As a matter of fact, he fell ill and just deteriorated. That was because of how close they were. I admire that and that is what I want for myself.”

    Dominic, who before that moment had been secretive about her private life, left many shocked at the paucity of seeing her in a relationship.

     

    Speaking in a chat with Chude Jideonwo, the fashionable actress said her decision to show off her relationship on social media was due to her desire to please her fans.

    “That’s the thing…it just happened. Oh my goodness Chude! Anyway…It just happened, a spur of the moment, happiness. Once in a while, you want to share certain things with people and I felt like my lovers, had been there for me for decades,” she said.

    “We all had a bad year last year with COVID and we could do with some happiness.”
