RMD turns love doctor on Valentine’s Day

Revered Nollywood actor and former Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe Damijo, shared relationship tips for singles on Valentine’s Day.

RMD in an Instagram post noted that happiness is found in self and not in the chocolates, cakes, roses, and ice-cream that come as Valentine’s Day gifts

He wrote, “It’s that day of the year again when many are pressured by the need to be loved and cared for.

“The day where the pressure to outshine the other is on and the really single, bae-less ones feel out of sorts.

“Well my darling, do not let anything or anyone make you feel inadequate and/or incomplete.

“Don’t look for anybody to complete you today or at any time. You are complete on your own. Nobody completes you.

“Nothing completes you. Stop looking for that person or thing that completes you. You won’t find it.

“Find the One that made you and learn how to be with Him and be at peace. That way, if the chocolates, cakes, roses and ice creams don’t come to you, you’ll gracefully enjoy the day nonetheless, knowing that your happiness is in your own hands.”

  • Don’t let social media hype deceive you- RMD urges fans

No matter how old veteran actor RMD looks, many ladies would still love him.The suave actor became fans’ favourite when he joined Instagram. Since then , he has used that platform to inspire and interact with them.

The former Delta State Commissioner recently urged his numerous fans not to be fooled by social media hype.

He wrote on Instagram: “If I wasn’t the six foot and some more, successful, famous, somewhat good-looking RMD, will you still love me?

If not for the level of fame I have achieved and the success tied to my brand will you still scream my name?

If I was a middle-aged, gray bearded, emaciated applicant hoping to be your driver, will you give me a second look?

If I was a half literate Warri boy who said ‘Nyam’ instead of Yam, “Shorsh” instead of Church and “I chock” instead of “I was shocked”, will you not mock and laugh at my speech?

If I as RMD, fell on hard times, lost my fame and fortune, became helpless and hopeless, will you show any sympathy?

I ask, not because I do not know the answers but so that he that has ears will hear and hopefully learn a thing or maybe, two. In your desire to be loved and accepted, it is important to ask ourselves how much of the love and admiration thrown at you are genuine. Know that many do not love you, they love the idea of you. It is the same people who sing your praises when you’re up, that tear you apart when you stumble, and stomp on you when you fall.

Don’t let the number of followers you have, the likes and comments on your pictures or the hype fool you, one wrong move and the vultures will swoop down to feast.

This is why I appreciate the love but stay super selective when it comes to letting people in. I keep my circle small, in fact, very small. I keep my private life, private and thank God for the grace to also keep my public life private. Don’t put yourself out there and start crying foul when it blows up in your face and hey, STOP trying to sit with the cool kids, YOU•ARE•THE•COOL•KID!!!! Know this and elevate above the clique mentality”.

Every guy that slides into your DM is not your spouse- RMD

Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo fondly called RMD added another feather to his cap by effortlessly transforming into a relationship coach on Instagram.

The award winning role interpreter who shares words of wisdom with his youthful followers on Instagram noted that everyone who talks to you via your direct message(DM) on Instagram is not your spouse.

RMD said this against the backdrop of individuals who are desperate to get something at all cost.

Hear him: “The thing about wanting something so bad is losing the sensibility and sensitivity to make the right choices. Whatever it is you’re believing God for, it is important to know that not every call is the call you are waiting for-Wait! Every opportunity is not the breakthrough one-Wait! Every step is not the final one-Wait! Every guy/girl that slides into your DM is not your spouse-Wait! Every prayer does not get an instant answer-Wait!

“The eagle does not jump into every wind, it waits till the right wind comes then it dives in, mounts up, spreads its wings and glides, No flapping-No struggling. Be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit of God and only seize the right opportunities so that effortlessly and seamlessly you will soar to your destiny. Wait on God and #elevatewithrmd

I must thank my pastor @thesamadeyemi for making me discover God better everyday. I am at peace.”

  • Why I hate to shave- RMD

Why I hate to shave- RMD

Unknown to many of his fans, suave actor Richard Mofe Damijo hates to shave his beards. The former Delta State commissioner said, he doesn’t shave his beards because he hates to shave.

According to him:” I hate to shave, so once I have an opportunity not to work, I let it grow. I don’t keep it for the sake of grooming it. I just leave my beard because I don’t want to shave. I would say that shaving is about the most personal thing I hate to do and it is because I’d have to stop everything I am doing just to shave”

The Wedding Party star actor added that paradoxically shaving is one of the most therapeutic things for him

Hear him:” Ironically, it is one of the most therapeutic things for me. If I need to calm down fast, all I do is shave and that is simply because I have to be calm to shave. So it helps me as well. I keep a clean shaved head not because it is a brand identity but because I cannot keep an afro. Since my hair does not grow enough to become an afro, I just keep it clean”.

    ‘I didn’t always know I would make it’-RMD reveals

When you think of the veteran actor, Richard Mofe Damijo what comes to mind will be his legendary acting prowess, awards, and achievements. Unknown to many, the multitalented entertainer has experienced his own fair share of struggles and scars. RMD, as he is fondly called by his fans, marks his 56th birthday today and took to his Instagram page to reminisce on his life’s journey so far.

Hear him: “Nobody wey nor fit to make am o” is the apt theme song for my life as I celebrate my 56th birthday today. From Welfare Road Warri, Delta State to the Silver Screen, it’s been an often times surreal experience that anyone who has made it from a similar place of obscurity can relate to. I believe my journey, like most journeys to greatness usually start from self-belief.

“It’s hard for me to believe I have done 34 years post graduation. There’s been struggles, uncertainties, living abroad seeking greener pastures, returning home, businesses have risen, flourished and some fallen.

“There’s been a marriage, a painful death, another blessed marriage, joyous births and more academic pursuits and degrees. There’s been my sojourn in government for 8 years, the birth of my precious grandchildren and the return that was the first scary till I felt the overwhelming love and support of my ever growing fan base.

“What a journey. What a packed 56years. I am indeed grateful and thankful. No, I didn’t wake up like this (as RMD), No, I didn’t always know that I would “make it”.

“It’s been Faith, Hard work, Self-development and more work. But above all, I have been more graced than my efforts could ever have done which is why in this journey, God is my ride or die and today I return all the glory to Him.”
