Real Madrid plan January move for Antonio Rudiger

La Liga giant Real Madrid are preparing a January move for Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger.

Off contract in June, Rudiger has so far resisted Chelsea’s attempts to discuss new terms. Instead, his brother and agent is taking soundings from interested clubs across Europe.

AS says Real Madrid are keen on the Germany international and would consider making a January offer.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti is a fan, along with the club’s front office. Ancelotti has concerns about his defensive options after losing Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos in the summer.

As such, Real are weighing up making a January move for Rudiger.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger admits new contract talks have been suspended.

Rudiger’s current deal expires at the end of the season.

He told the Guardian: “The most important thing is that I feel happy here. I think anyone can say that.

“The renewal? On the contractual situation I speak with the club.

“I said we would speak after the European Championship and there was a meeting between Marina Granovskaia and my agent. Nothing has changed, but I have nothing to dealing with all the speculations about my future. I don’t think about it, I’m focused on what I’m doing.”

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is demanding €12m-a-year to sign a new contract.

Cadena SER says clubs across Europe have been informed the German’s personal demands by intermediaries.

Italian transfer expert Gianni di Marzio revealed: “Rüdiger is talking to Juventus, Man City, Tottenham and even PSG who still need a defender.

“It’s difficult for him to sign a new contract. He will join one of the four named teams.”

Indeed, it’s suggested Chelsea have already informed Rudiger they won’t up their last offer – which falls well short of what his camp are seeking.

Ex-Chelsea defender: Just pay what’s needed to keep Rudiger

Former Chelsea defender Robert Huth is baffled by the prospect of Toni Rudiger leaving for nothing this summer.

The German defender is reportedly eyeing a £400,000-a-week deal, which is £50k more than what team-mate Romelu Lukaku earns.

But Huth reckons it would cost them even more to replace Rudiger.

He told BonusCodeBets: “From a Chelsea point of view, do you give Antonio Rudiger what he wants and consider how much it would cost Chelsea to replace him?”

Huth added: “When Lampard was in charge, it didn’t look like he was going to turn it around as well as he has done.

“He’s been absolutely brilliant. In reality, what would it cost to replace him? It’ll probably cost around 40-50 million to replace him.

“They know what he can do and he’s been performing well.

“It’s a good position for Antonio to be in terms of negotiations because all the top clubs in Europe will be looking at him.”

However, Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting negotiations between the two parties are continuing.

Rudiger has been seeking €10m-a-year to re-sign.

Bayern Munich and PSG are watching developments closely, knowing they can secure Rudiger to a pre-contract agreement from January 1.

Chelsea considering Villarreal defender to replace Rudiger

Chelsea are entering the race to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

The Spanish centre-half is emerging as a key target for several clubs around Europe.

According to 90Min, the Blues are the latest team to register an interest in Torres, after their failure to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla in the recently passed summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old Spaniard was outstanding for Villarreal last term as they won the Europa League, beating Manchester United in the final.

The Red Devils are another team with a longstanding interest in Torres, but they did not put in any offer for the defender last summer.

Antonio Rudiger has yet to agree a contract extension with the Blues, with his current deal set to expire next summer.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich want the German stopper, and Torres could replace him at Stamford Bridge.

Rudiger ready to quit Chelsea, demanding a bank-busting contract

Antonio Rudiger is ready to leave Chelsea for a bank-busting contract.

The Mirror says Rudiger is set to make himself one of the highest paid defenders ever with a £400,000-a-week pay packet abroad.

The 28-year-old Chelsea defender, one of the most influential figures within the European Champions’ ranks, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Bayern Munich and Juventus, famed for snapping up top-class stars on free transfers, are both keen on his services and are understood to have a monster pay packet waiting once negotiations with foreign clubs are allowed to begin in January.

Fans favourite Rudiger is keeping his options open after being offered a new deal by Chelsea worth just £130,000-a-week. Striker Romelu Lukaku, the same age as the centre-back, is currently being paid £350,000-a-week.

Despite Rudiger’s key role in landing the Champions League in May – Chelsea lifted the trophy with the best defence in the competition – the deal was offered to his representatives post-season with a deadline of the end of the summer to agree.

Rudiger’s camp stood their ground and are now ready to listen to offers directly with rival European clubs at the Club World Cup in January which is expected to be taken away from Japan and moved to Abu Dhabi.

Bundelisga giant Bayern Munich are in contact with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

BILD says Rudiger, 28, has a year left on his Stamford Bridge deal – he earns around £100,000-a-week and is not even in the club’s top 10 earners.

They could lose the Germany international for nothing next summer if he does not sign an extension.

He can also sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in January.

And Bayern have reached out to Rudiger’s agent, Sahr Senesie – who is also his half brother.

Rudiger is said to be after £200k-a-week with Chelsea reportedly only willing to pay £150k-a-week.

And that could also be too much for Bayern.

Ferdinand names Chelsea player as Premier League’s best defender

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has named his pick of Chelsea’s centre-backs so far this season.

The Blues have emerged as one of the best defensive teams in Europe under manager Thomas Tuchel.

They are joint top of the Premier League at present, following a 3-0 win over Tottenham away from home on Sunday.

Ferdinand named Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has his favorite of their centre-backs at present.

He said: “Since Tuchel has come I think he’s arguably been the best centre-back. I think him and Dias would have been close but the effect he has had on his team has been immense.

“Under Frank [Lampard] , it was evident he wasn’t Frank’s cup of tea. He didn’t really like him. There was rumours there were trying to put him in the market to be sold.

“In Germany, he’s always been highly thought of. But when the manager doesn’t rate you and you can feel that, I don’t care who you are your confidence takes a beating and it’s hard to perform at that level.”
