A devastated Phyna, a former Big Brother Naija winner, buried her sister, Ruth Otabor, on Saturday, September 13th. Ruth tragically passed away days after an accident involving a Dangote truck.
Recall that Ruth, who had just graduated from Auchi Polytechnic, suffered severe injuries and was in a coma for days. Phyna struggled to get justice and proper care for her sister, but tragically, she passed away.
In the video that surfaced social media from the Saturday ceremony in Ikorodu, Ogun State, showed captured the berevaed reality star alongside fellow ex-housemate Christy O, Groovy and other friends dressed in black to support her.
Ruth’s body were taken from Ebony Mortuary in Ikoyi to her residence in Ikorodu, Ogun State, where she was laid to rest.
It would be recalled that Ruth’s death was earlier confirmed by Eko Solicitors & Advocates on behalf of the Otabor family.
“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to the glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.
The family added that they are devastated by the tragedy and have requested privacy to grieve, noting that details of Ruth’s funeral arrangements will be made public at a later date.
