    Sammie Okposo will no longer minister at this year’s Nations Worship in His Presence after publicly confessing that he had an amorous relationship outside wedlock.

    Okposo has been dropped from performing at the Dunamis event slated for Friday, January 28.

    His picture has been removed from the poster shared on Tuesday afternoon by the organiser of the event and also Senior Pastor of Dunamis Church, Dr Paul Enenche.

    Okposo was earlier expected to perform at the annual Gospel music concert alongside Nathaniel Bassey, Owie Abutu, Prosper Chioma Jesus etc.

    According to Okposo, he intimately got involved with a lady he met in the USA in late 2021 during a trip. He added that the behaviour wasn’t acceptable seeing as he is a married man and a gospel minister.

    The singer explained that his action caused his wife and family a lot of pain and he is now working on making peace with God.

    Okposo suspends ministry work after cheating on his wife taking things further, Okposo announced that he was suspending all ministry work until he is fully restored because that is the proper action to take and he owes it to God.

    An American lady, who is claiming she is the one Sammie Okposo cheated on his wife, has said she did not know the gospel singer was married.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the American lady made this known in a chat with YouTuber, Obodo Naija TV, when she said she met Okposo in Texas during one of his tours in the US.

    The Texas-based lady, sharing screenshots of her chats with the gospel singer, revealed that the artist invited her to his hotel where they spent the night together.

    She said they were in a relationship for months and spent time together until she discovered she was pregnant in January 2021.

    She alleged that the ‘Welu Welu’ master asked her to abort the baby when she told him about the pregnancy, adding that after that, Okposo blocked her on all social media platforms.

    “Sammie okposo got me pregnant and does not want to take responsibility and blocked me on all social media platforms. We met at a concert in one church close to my home and we started following each other on Instagram. He asked for my number from Instagram and we started conversing regularly.

    “He invited me to his show in Houston Texas in November 2021, he invited me to his hotel and we hung out. I spent the night with him until the next morning. We kept speaking even when he invited me to Nigeria, we messed around on several occasions. I am accountable for my part. In December again, he invited me to his show and we messed around.” She said in part.

    TNG reports in the early hours of Tuesday OKposo via a statement tendered a public apology to his wife and his fans for cheating on his wife.

    In the statement released on his official Instagram page, the singer confessed he had an intimate relationship with a woman in the US in late 2021.

    He also noted that he would be stepping down from ministry until he gains full restoration.

    An American lady, based in Texas, identified as African Doll, has accused popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, of impregnating her.

    The lady in question made the accusation in a discussion with a YouTuber, Obodo Naija TV, after Sammie publicly apologised to his wife for cheating on her with a mystery lady in the US in 2021.

    She disclosed that she met Sammie in Texas when he was on a tour to the US and he invited her to his hotel where she spent the night and messed around with him.

    Alongside screenshots of a conversation with the gospel artiste, Doll claimed she had a relationship for months and spent time together until she found out she was pregnant in January.

    She disclosed that Sammie told her to abort the baby when she informed him of the pregnancy.

    “Sammie okposo got me pregnant and does not want to take responsibility and blocked me on all social media platforms.

    She, however, said she’s not trying to get anything from him or blackmail him but he disrespected her by calling her names.

    “After I left the hospital and called him, he told me to do the needful and get rid of the child after I told him I was pregnant.

    “He blocked me and called me names when the issue of the baby came up,” she claimed.

    She added that she came out because Sammie has left her to sort out the issue alone.

    Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo tenders public apology for committing adultery

    Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo has apologised publicly to his wife, family, friends, and fans after he confessed to cheating on his wife with another woman.

    The popular singer took to his verified Instagram page and Instagram story to tender the apology.

    “I need to bring a very unfortunate incident to your attention as I am not proud of it but know that this is the right thing to do,” he began.

    “On my recent trip to the USA (late 2021), I got intimately involved with a lady, knowing that this was not appropriate as a married man and a minister of the gospel.

    “I am ashamed and regret my actions as it has caused a lot of pain to my dear wife, Ozioma, my family and I.”

    Continuing, he said’ “As I work in making peace with God, repenting and asking for His forgiveness, I am suspending myself from all ministry work until full restoration as this is what is proper and what I know I owe God and His people.

    “To my wife, Ozioma. I am sincerely sorry I put you through this shameful and embarrassing situation. I broke your trust and disappointed you.

    “Your forgiveness of my moral failure and poor judgment is important to me. I pray I will eventually be able to build back the trust and confidence every single day for the rest of my life.

    “I want to take this moment and apologise to all Fathers and Mothers of the Faith and ministers of the Gospel for my behavior and moral failure. I won’t be here if not for your investment and belief in what God has called me to do. I sincerely apologise for this embarrassing situation.

    “To all that have been a part of my ministry, followed my ministry or know me personally, I am truly sorry for disappointing you. I regret any pain or disappointment that this news of my moral failure and poor judgement may cause you and I am truly sorry for disappointing you. I humbly ask that you continue to pray for me.”

    Okposo got married to Ozioma in July 2010.

    Renowned gospel artiste, Sammie Okposo has recounted how God saved him while driving on the third mainland bridge in Lagos.

    The music star shared his experience via his Instagram page on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

    According to Okposo, the propeller shaft of his car pulled off while he was driving but thankfully nothing bad happened to him.

    “I was not going to post this because I had already thanked praised and worshiped God for delivering me from death Saturday, May 16th, 2020 but this is something to brag about and testify of the miracle-working power of God I have a very BIG God who is always by my side to deliver me,” he wrote.

    “The image you see is my car propeller shaft that pulled off whilst I was in motion just before it happened i was doing 100/120 kph on the 3rd mainland bridge connecting to cms and then to surulere my destination as I was driving suddenly I heard a voice “SLOW DOWN” so immediately I reduced my speed to 60kph 10 seconds after reducing my speed from 120kph to 60kph the propeller shaft of my car pulled off with a loud noise.”

    Months back, popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo slammed his protégé, comedian Akpororo over performing shirtless in church.

    Okposo in a new chat has revealed why he condemned the sought after comedian.

    “I really don’t want to go into that any longer. In the kingdom of God, there are certain things you cannot do, notwithstanding the swagger you want to adopt. Have you ever been to a church and the person leading praise and worship or the choir members were dressed inappropriately? I was hard on Akpororo because of the relationship that I share with him. I have always supported him; so, it was my duty to say that he went too far. There is a way I will dress and it will send a wrong message to people. Even before I start to minister, those people would be put off already because of my appearance. Also, we should not forget that we have elderly people in the church who don’t tolerate certain things”, he told Punch.

    On giving back to society, Okposo said that everyone had their different callings and he was not the type to blow his own trumpet. He stated, “I have done many things for young artistes but I decided not to publish them. I am called for a different purpose. For instance, I am not called to run a record company. When you do something that is not your assignment, you will fail. I understand my assignment and I have injected wisdom into the industry in many ways. I don’t blow my trumpet but I have mentored people who are also doing great in the industry. I own a recording studio and I allow people to record there for free.”

    Top Nigerian musician, Sammie Okposo has bared his mind over Akpororo going shirtless at a recent concert.

    The concert held on the 26th of December and organised by City FM featured the gospel comedian, Akpororo.

    Akporo had posted a video of himself at the concert shirtless during his performance.

    Reacting to the controversial video, Sammie Okposo wrote:”Wetin make you remove your shirt? Why you go remove your shirt on top a strictly gospel music alter. This is an alter of praise and worship unto God. This is not funny at all, this is totally wrong and out of order”.

     

    In a recent chat with Punch, the comedian and singer hinted that he had known his wife since she was part of a dance group and shortly after they began to exchange pleasantries, they got married.

    “I did not date my wife. We are in the same industry and she was with Explicit Dance Group. We had met on some occasions and greeted each other. We never had any period to date; I would say we started dating after we got married. Although I am a comedian, when I approached her, she took my words seriously because whenever I am serious you would easily know.

    “I was already popular as of the time I got married to my wife. Some people say that once you get married, your tempo or output in the industry would drop but I do not believe that because whatever you believe would happen to your career is what would happen to it. I changed the belief that you need to date someone for a long period before you get married,” he said.
