Euro 2020: What Paul Pogba told England penalty flops

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has sent his support to England trio Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal youngster Saka missed the decisive penalty in England’s shootout lost to Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

It came after Rashford and Sancho also failed to convert from the spot.

Taking to Instagram, Pogba said: “I am PROUD OF YOU. You win some, you lose some.

“You took the courage to take the penalties and you showed your worth to help your country reach the final.

“We cannot tolerate or stand for racism anymore and we will never stop combatting it. You boys should hold your heads high and be proud of your confidence. You are examples of this beautiful game. Never forget that. Be proud of yourselves, the World of football is proud of you!”

England winger Jadon Sancho says that he will not think about a move to Manchester United while the Three Lions remain in Euro 2020.

The Borussia Dortmund winger is on the brink of a switch to Old Trafford. The clubs have reached an agreement over a fee and only the formalities of the deal need take place before he becomes a Manchester United player.

“To be fair, I don’t want to talk about Manchester United. Right now I just want to focus on England,” he told BBC Radio5 Live when quizzed about his upcoming move.

Instead, he focused on the European Championship match, which took place in Rome.

“I’m feeling over the moon. Today was must-win and I’m just happy to have got an opportunity to play. This is a special moment for me,” he said.

“Every time I haven’t been playing I’ve been going back to training and been giving it everything.

“I’ve just been focusing on myself while I’ve been at England. I’ve always been ready if I needed to come on.

“We knew today was going to be a big game, Ukraine are a very good side. I’m delighted.”

“When he does sign, I’m sure he’s going to have a great career for United and be a big part of us being successful in the future,” Maguire said.

Manchester United may be ready to hand the number 7 shirt to their new signing.

The Red Devils are reportedly close to securing Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The English attacker will arrive in the coming weeks and sign a five year contract, plus the option for a sixth year.

The Athletic has claimed Sancho will wear the no.7 shirt on his back with the Red Devils.

Edinson Cavani is United’s current no.7, which means Sancho may have to wait a year to get his dream number if the Uruguayan is not willing to give it up.

United’s numer seven jersey has been worn such club greats as George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Germans have no idea why Sancho doesn’t start for England – Klinsmann

Jurgen Klinsmann admits German football fans have no idea why Jadon Sancho doesn’t play for England.

Sancho has lit up the Bundesliga over the past two seasons playing for Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old, who is close to joining Manchester United, was once again left out of the starting line-up for England’s clash with Germany on Tuesday, which the Three Lions won 2-0.

Reacting to Sancho’s latest snub, Klinsmann told the BBC: “It’s a topic that us Germans, we discuss up and down.

“We cannot understand that Jadon Sancho is not playing for England, or not getting more minutes because we believe he is a very special player who has a different gear.

“He has unpredictability, so we are surprised he doesn’t get more minutes.”

Marcus Rashford has dropped a fresh hint England teammate Jadon Sancho is on his way to Manchester United.

United and Borussia Dortmund have been locked in negotiations over the winger for a second summer in a row but are now close to reaching an agreement for the 21-year-old.

A deal is likely to be announced imminently with Dortmund, after refusing to budge on their £110m valuation last year, dropping the asking price and willing to accept a fee of £73m plus £4m in add-ons following several weeks of talks.

Rashford and Sancho are currently on international duty with England at Euro 2020 but both were unused substitutes during Tuesday’s victory over Germany at Wembley.

However, Rashford was straight on social media after the game and seemingly dropped a huge hint that Sancho is on the cusp of completing a move to Old Trafford.

A United fan messaged Rashford directly, asking him to “announce Sancho”.

Rashford replied 13 minutes later with “Yes x”.

“It was Jadon’s own decision. He is doing a great job at Borussia, all that remains is to congratulate him. He is an exceptional footballer. We wanted him to stay at Manchester City, but he wanted to leave, so we decided not to keep him.

Lukaku warns Man Utd against signing Sancho

Inter Milan striker Romalu Lukaku insists former club Manchester United doesn’t need to buy Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho.

Lukaku doesn’t believe they need additional players like Sancho.

“If you buy another striker, what are you going to do with Anthony [Martial]?” Lukaku quizzed The Times. “He’s not being the No 9 at a great club.

“Give him the full season to confirm what he did last year instead of bringing in someone big to disrupt the chemistry in the dressing room.

“Then you have Mason’s (Greenwood) transition that is going to happen any time soon from right wing to No 9, and Mason is a killer. I’ve seen him first hand. He’s got something.”
