    Manchester United legend, Savage predicts likely winner of 2023 Ballon d’Or

    Former Manchester United midfielder, Robbie Savage has predicted the likely winner of the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.

    Following their impressive performances for club and country, Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland have emerged as the top contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

    Messi won the FIFA World Cup with the Argentina national team and also the French Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before he left the Parisians to join Inter Miami.

    Halaand, on the other hand, won the Treble – Premier League title, Champions League and the FA Cup.

    Both players alongside Kyllian Mbappe have been ncluded in the nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or that will be announced on October 30.

    However, Savage believes Messi will win the votes and claim the Ballon d’Or ahead of Haaland.

    Savage told Planet Sport: “So Halland or Messi? I think the voting will go to Messi because the World Cup, which eluded him, he’s won it with his teammates.

    “I think Messi will win it but if you are looking at Man City doing the treble, look at the impact Erling Haaland had in his first season in the Premier League. Man City could not win the Champions League, but they did it with Haaland there, so for me, Haaland should win it, but I think Messi will.”

  • 21 Savage, rapper/Grammy nominee arrested, faces deportation

    Grammy-nominated Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage, was arrested on Sunday by U.S. immigration officials, who said he was illegally in the country and a convicted felon.

    The rapper, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, came to the U.S. from the UK in 2005, overstaying his visa to settle in Atlanta, said Bryan Cox, a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

    Cox said Abraham-Joseph, whose 21 Savage Face book page shows several upcoming concerts, was in custody in Georgia and faced deportation proceedings in federal immigration courts.

    He said Abraham-Joseph was convicted on felony drug charges in Georgia in 2014, and was arrested on Sunday as part of a targeted operation with the cooperation of local law enforcement.

     

    “Our staff are in contact with the lawyer of a British man following his detention in the USA,” Britain’s Foreign Office said in statement. British officials only get involved in such cases if the person involved is a British passport holder.

    The rapper’s lawyer, Dina LaPolt, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters on Sunday.

    But the lawyer told the entertainment publication Variety that Abraham-Joseph was a “role model” who was working on financial literacy programmes aimed at helping underprivileged youth.

    “We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with authorities to clear up any misunderstanding,” she said, according to Variety.

    Cox said he did not know whether Abraham-Joseph, who media reports said is 26, would have been eligible for protection under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA program, which protects “Dreamers”young immigrants brought illegally to the United States as children.

    DACA does not cover people convicted of felonies.

    Variety said the rapper performed as recently as Thursday in Atlanta as part of the run-up to Sunday’s Super Bowl game in the city.

    His most recent album, “I Am > I Was”, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, the publication said.

    An ICE official told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that when Abraham-Joseph was arrested in 2014, ICE was not aware of his immigration status.

    It only learned later that he is allegedly from the UK, the official said.

    Mavin queen, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she only looks beautiful by the help of make-ups and push-up bras.

    The music star said that in spite of the glitz and glamour she displays on social media, she sometimes feels depressed by low self-esteem.

    Tiwa stated that sometimes she is intimidated by the glamour on social media.

    “I get a lot of messages from young girls who are depressed with low self-esteem because they don’t feel pretty like the social media girls they see every day and my heart breaks because I feel like that too sometimes.

    “We are all in this together, I’m not perfect, and not the prettiest, sexiest, richest but I’ll remain kind and seek after God’s heart because none of the others matters to Him.

    “Ultimately God’s approval is all we need”, she said.

    She added that contrary to public belief, she hardly sees herself as a pretty woman.

    “Some people are born beautiful, flawless skin, long curly hair, fair skin but some of us grew up looking at the world’s definition of beauty and found ourselves not fitting into that standard but with the help of makeup, filters and push up bras we feel a little closer.

    “What happens when you take all that off and you stare at yourself in the mirror, do you still think you are beautiful?

    “You should because you are and when we meet our creator face to face it’s those with the kindest hearts that will stand as most beautiful.

    “So while we work on the outside make sure we work on our hearts.”

    Recall that there were speculations that the eight months relationship had hit the rocks following the couple’s unusual move by unfollowing each other on Instagram .

    Amber however debunked the claims in a recent interview.

    According to her: “We’re still together, I just unfollowed over 100 people though, His unfollow was on accident—It’s back up now”.

    When asked why she deleted all his photos from her page, she explained that it was due to the unwanted attention 21 Savage was getting.

     

    “Everybody was going in on my baby and I didn’t like that,” she said
