REVEALED: Sergio Ramos leaving Real Madrid

Spanish pundit Josep Pedrerol is adamant Sergio Ramos will leave Real Madrid at the end of this season.

The Real captain comes off contract in June and talks over new terms appear to have stalled.

Pedrerol, the head of El Chiringuito, “He’s leaving. He’s leaving.

“I don’t see any chance of Ramos staying. For a month the player has been listening to offers, and from Madrid they understand that Ramos deserves a great contract to finish his career, but right now the financial situation is what it is.

“Madrid has gone from entering 900 million (euros) to 600, and within the team many adjustments are being made, but Ramos does not want to lower his salary.

“This lack of empathy has also made things very difficult.”

French Ligue 1 side PSG have tabled a bumper pre-contract proposal to Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

With his current deal to expire in June, the veteran defender is free to negotiate pre-contract terms with any foreign team.

El Transistor says PSG have offered a three-year proposal worth €15m-a-season.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been made aware of the offer – but has refused to move in response.

Indeed, Florentino has no intention of matching PSG’s terms.

I don’t know what will happen with Ramos – Zidane

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane admits he’s unsure if Sergio Ramos will stay.

A dispute over contract promises all but sealed Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus after a trophy-laden career in the Spanish capital, and fans are afraid that they will lose yet another talismanic figure.

“Are we going to have a Cristiano case? I don’t know what will happen with Ramos,” Zidane explained in his pre-match press conference.

“He is here with us at the moment.

“We’re just focused on tomorrow’s game.”

Karim Benzema is a player also causing headaches for Zidane, not for his performances on the pitch, but the fact the forward has been called to trial in France over an alleged blackmail plot.

“He has my full support,” he added.

“This is not an easy situation, that’s clear, but I see that he is fine and concentrating on his work.

“I hope that this will get fixed for everyone, Karim works hard and that’s what he enjoys doing.”

Sergio Ramos rejects new Madrid contract offer

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has rejected a new contract offer.

Marca says Ramos and Real Madrid are still a long way away in their negotiations for the captain’s contract extension.

The defender and Florentino Perez haven’t been able to come to an agreement, and Saturday’s meeting at Valdebebas has led to a lot of tension. The pair had unsuccessful discussions prior to the game against Celta Vigo, and again met in the tunnel just before the players stepped onto the pitch.

A one-year offer is on the table with no change to his salary, but Ramos is still pushing for two years, and for the salary reduction not to be included, as he wants that to be discussed rather than implemented without his say.

Now, there are no new meetings set in the calendar, and the player is allowed to talk to other clubs ahead of making a free transfer this coming summer.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has warned president Florentino Perez he has a big offer from PSG.

The defender, 34, comes off contract in June and is now free to commit to a pre-contract with any foreign club.

According to El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol, Ramos met with Florentino and informed him that he does not intend to accept the offer to renew, instead making himself “available to listen to proposals from other clubs”.

Ramos even told Florentino: “At PSG, I was told that they will make a team with me and (Lionel) Messi”.

Like the Real skipper, Messi’s contract with Barcelona also ends in June and remains at odds with the board about talks over a new deal.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is prepared to walk out on the club next year.

Ramos is off contract in June and locked in talks over a new deal with Real management.

El Transistor says Ramos has had his head turned by offers from across Europe. There is talk of PSG and also proposals from Italy and England.

As such, the 34 year-old defender is seriously considering leaving Madrid at the end of the season.

The situation could yet change, however, with Ramos still happy in Madrid where he is close to his extended family and friends.

The veteran’s brother and agent, Rene, is currently negotiating new terms with Real president Florentino Perez.

Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has declared he’d be prepared to sign Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

Ramos is off contract in June and yet to settle on new terms with Real.

In a sure sign he plans to bring Al Sadd coach Xavi back to Barca, Font declared: “If Xavi asked me to sign him and it was economically viable, I would sign him.”

On Xavi, Font continued: “The time has come to not be a resultist and, in that sense, it would make sense for Xavi to enter that structure.

“He is the best person possible to lead the project.”

  • Copa del Rey exit hurts – Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos says his side’s Copa del Rey exit hurt.

Ramos said this after Zinedine Zidane’s men were knocked out of the competition following a 4-3 defeat to Real Sociedad on Thursday night.

Real Sociedad defeated the Los Blancos and qualified for the semi-final, thanks to three goals from Martin Odegaard, Alexander Isak, Mikel Merino, and Andoni Gorosabel.

Marcelo Vieira, Rodrygo and Nacho did score for Zidane’s side at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“The defeat hurts, but it should teach us something,” Ramos wrote on Instagram after the match.

“Los Blancos have further relevant purposes ahead.

“And we are going to make sure we do our best.

“I thank our supporters for pushing ahead and or trusting in us.”

Euro 2020: Sergio Ramos breaks Spain record

Sergio Ramos became Europe’s most capped male outfield player as Spain edged closer to Euro 2020 qualification with a 1-1 draw in Norway.

Ramos’ 168th cap also makes him Spain’s record appearance maker, surpassing goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Saul Niguez’s dipping second-half effort was cancelled out by Josh King’s injury-time penalty to ruin Spain’s 100% record in Group F.

A draw in Sweden on Tuesday will secure Spain’s qualification.

“All that is personal is a little secondary,” said Ramos after the game.

“I would have happily traded this 168th cap for a victory. It was not the case. But this record is a great reward after so many years and it’s a great source of huge pride.

“I am emotional every time I put on this shirt. That will not change and I hope to continue doing so for many years.”

Spain looked to be heading for a seventh straight win in qualification until Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga brought down Omar Elabdellaoui.

Bournemouth’s King rolled home the spot-kick in the 94th minute to leave Norway in fourth place in Group F.

Real Madrid’s Ramos, 33, made his Spain debut in 2005 and is one of the last survivors of a golden era that won a World Cup and two European Championships.

Ramos, who overtook Latvia’s Vitalijs Astafjevs at the summit of Europe’s outfield caps list, is now eight caps from matching Gianluigi Buffon’s overall European record of 176 international appearances.

The defender has some way to go if he wants to break the world record, however, with former Egypt midfielder Ahmed Hassan playing 184 times for his country between 1995 and 2012.

  • Ramos in trouble as Madrid president threatens to sack him

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos had a fierce argument with club President Florentino Perez in the team’s dressing room after Tuesday’s 4-1 home defeat by Ajax Amsterdam.

This is according to Spanish media reports on Thursday.

Newspapers AS, Marca, El Pais and ABC reported the apparent face-off on their websites, saying Perez threatened to sack Ramos in front of the whole squad.

They added that the defender responded by saying he would be glad to leave Real Madrid, where he has played since 2005, providing he was paid the remainder of his contract.

Real Madrid and Ramos’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

According to AS, Perez told the squad he thought their display in the last 16 second leg defeat, their joint-heaviest home loss in European competition, was “shameful”.

This had prompted an angry reaction from Ramos who missed the game due to suspension.

Perez said he would sack the defender, who, according to AS, replied by saying “Pay me and I will leave, I have given everything and broken my back for this badge, this club and for you”.

The 5-3 aggregate loss to Ajax handed Real their earliest elimination from the UEFA Champions League since 2010 and ended their three-year domination of Europe’s elite competition.

It also meant they have practically nothing left to play for with three months remaining of the season.

It capped a humiliating week in which they were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by FC Barcelona and beaten by Barca in the league.

The loss has now seen them falling 12 points behind their arch-rivals in the title race.
