  • I’ve been falling sick since my husband stop making love with me

The five-year-old marriage between a 35-year-old trader, Bilikisu Azeez and her husband, Olusesi, was on Friday dissolved by an Igando Customary Court in Lagos on grounds of sex-starvation.

Bilikisu had told the court that her husband, Olusesi, starved her of sex for more than two years, a development which, she said, had affected her health.

“My husband has been starving me of sex since he married his youngest wife; he has turned me to an abandoned property.

“I have been falling sick in and out of hospital, during my last visit to the hospital, I was told that it was because I have not had sex for long that is why I experience frequent sickness.”

She also accused her husband of not caring for her and the only child of the marriage, saying “my husband does not take care of me, I feed and clothe myself.

“He refused to enroll our only child, who is over four years old in school and has failed to pay his medical bills; I always run to my mother for the hospital bill.”

Bilikisu, who also accused her husband of battery, said he had beaten her publicly which resulted in her fainting.

According to her, the trouble started when her husband brought in a third wife.

She continued: “There was joy, love and peace in the house until he came with another wife, who has been fighting me also.”

She urged the court to dissolve the union so that she can move on with her life.

Olusesi, in his response to the allegations, accepted that he starved the woman of sex.

“She once denied me of sex and since then I abandoned her.

“Yes, I starved her of sex, it is tit for tat because there was a day I entered her room to sleep with her and she left the bed to sleep on the floor.

“I made an attempt eight times to sleep with her, but she refused. So since that day, I just put her aside after all she is not the only wife I have,” he told the court.

The 45-year-old building contractor also consented to the dissolution of the marriage, saying he too was no longer interested in the marriage.

The court president, Mr Akin Akinniyi, while delivering the judgment said that it appeared that the estranged couple were tired of the marriage as all efforts to reconcile them had failed.

“Since both parties consented to the dissolution of their marriage, this court has no choice than to dissolve the marriage.

“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mrs Bilikisu Azeez and Mr Olusesi Azeez dissolved today.

“Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife, each of you should go on his or her separate ways unmolested.

“The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavour. Any squabble between both of you from now on shall be treated as criminal.

“Any violation of this judgment will be regarded as contempt of court and will attract imprisonment without option of fine,” Akinniyi ruled.

  • ‘I almost committed suicide after having sex with my daughter’

The police in Lagos have arrested a 50-year-old man, Taiwo Oyelabi, for allegedly having sex with his now 21-year-old biological daughter.

Oyelabi, who resides at No. 15, Community Road, Obadore, Iyana Oba, Lagos State, was also accused of impregnating her.

In his confessional statement to the police, the suspect, who is being detained at the Gender Section of the Lagos State police command, admitted having an affair with the young girl, saying that he had carnal knowledge of her only five times.

He stated, “I only slept with my daughter five times and it took place in my house. She came to me the first time kissing me while I was lying down on my bed, urging me to make love to her. At first I was surprised but I gradually yielded to her demand.

“It all started a few years ago after my wife, who is the girl’s mother, moved out of my house over a minor domestic quarrel. She left with our twin children while they were still young. When she was leaving, she kept the children in the custody of my younger sister.

“Taiwo, however, came back to stay with me in 2017. That was how this whole drama started. As I said, it was the girl who came to me for sex the first time, but I demanded for it subsequently.

“I thought of committing suicide when I eventually realized the incest I was committing. I tried to take my life twice. There was a time I tried to drink insecticide but I was prevented from doing so by some petty traders in my area. I also tried to jump into a well the second time but was rescued by neighbours who saw me. I know it is the handiwork of the devil and pray that God and members of my family have mercy on me.”

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who paraded the suspect before newsmen at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, monday, said that preliminary investigation carried out at the Igando police station revealed that the suspect had had sexual intercourse with his daughter on several occasions.

The suspect divorced his wife when the daughter and her twin were still in their infancy.

Sometime in November 2017,the suspect collected the now-grown daughter who is also Taiwo from his sister and brought her home to live with him in his house at the afore-mentioned address.

Since then, Taiwo, the suspect, had been having inappropriate sexual liaison with Taiwo, his daughter. The result of this alliance between father and daughter was pregnancy.

“Investigation into the case revealed that the suspect is a security man but the strange part of his work was that whenever he was going to work, he went with his daughter. This strange behaviour attracted the attention of the community and they reported to the police.”

The court held that Judith Ivie Okosun was also convicted for one year jail term for unlawful detention of the plaintiff(Lecturer) in connection with sexual harassment scandal, which precipitated to the dismissal of Dr. Peter Otubu, a lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic , faculty of Engineering , Ambrose Alli University over seven years ago.

The first and second accused persons were convicted with N20, 000 an option of fine on count 4, which bothers on indecent assault, while her sister, Juliet Obehi Okosun (Second accused person) was found guilty on count 8, for unlawful detention of the University don.

The court recalled that Juliet Obehi Okosun (second accused person) had admitted in her evidence before the court that she had the key to the apartment where (first accused person), Judith Ivie Okosun, unlawfully assaulted Dr. Otubu who was held hostage and stripped naked at thier one room apartment in a private female hostel near the University campus on 17th July 2010.

In count 8, the court, ruled that the failure of Juliet Obehi Okosun to open the door of thier living room and release Dr. Otubu who was made to raise the sum of N100, 000. 00 (One Hundred Naira) cheque in favour of Judith Ivie Okosun for the inhuman treatment against Dr. Peter Otubu under the same circumstance.

“I believe them in this because judging from the position of the the Principal Witness (PW1) and the first accused person, the whole truth was found and doctored, such situation is highly embarrassing to him as a lecturer, his family and the University Community”, the court said.

The court also confirmed that the Institution had launched an internal preliminary investigation into sexual harassment saga between Judith Ivie Okosun and Dr. Otubu who was her elective course lecturer in exchange to lay with her which may not have prevented her from graduating except her carryover courses had piled.

Responding, Counsel to the defendants, Mr. Olayowola Afolabi, align with the judgement on sexual promiscuity of PW1 as “a show of shame”, but however pleaded with the court for clemency for the convicted persons on ground that they were first offenders, stressing that the second convict is a nursing mother.

An elated Dr. Peter Otubu, said the judgement has vindicated him, adding that, “The Principal suspect, Ivie Okosun and her sister, Juliet Obehi Okosun have been jailed. Whether they were given an option of fine or not. I am satisfied as the judgement has proved my innocence.
