Seyi Law makes U-turn, denies campaigning for Tinubu

Comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly  known as Seyi Law, has denied campaigning for President Bola Tinubu in the last election.

According to the comedian, he only declared publicly that Tinubu was his choice, and didn’t ask people to vote for his candidate.

Recall that Seyi Law has come under fire on social media following the worsening economic hardship, with many youths calling him out for supporting the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.

However, speaking in the latest episode of The Honest Bunch, the comic star said it was unjust for people to keep calling him out over the economic crunch, maintaining that he never urged Nigerians to vote for President Tinubu.

He said, “I never said ‘vote for Tinubu’. Go and check. I write the things that I know he did in Lagos, and I will put ‘Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my candidate or is who I am voting for.’ I didn’t tell you to vote for him. And again, Seyi Law did not make the 8.9 million that voted for him. I am just a number among those numbers.

“Yes, do I have influence over some people? Maybe. I used my influence for what I believed in. And I believe that this person [Tinubu] is the person that would take us to that Nigeria that I want us to be.”

My wife’s loyalty has kept my marriage for 12 years – Seyi Law shares his experience

Popular Nigerian comedian, Oluwaseyitan Aletile popularly known as Seyi Law, has revealed that his wife has been the big force behind his successful marriage.

He made this known while granting interview to TheNewsGuru.com at Deeone’s show, ‘The Preacher’s Son’.

Seyi Law has been married for 12 years.

The comedian praised his wife for being committed and tolerant, saying that they have been married for 12 years and her loyalty has kept the marriage.

On the lessons that he has learned in 12 years, Seyi noted that only God has kept it, saying there is no formula to keep any marriage.

“Today can be the end of your marriage, there is no day that you can say your marriage is safe, today the marriage can end, anything can happen that can break a marriage. The only thing that just keep the marriage is God. And your willingness to forgive .if you can’t forgive forget this thing called marriage. Sometimes when you wake up and see your wife, you will be asking yourself did you marry this one. But other times when you wake up you will be grateful for having the best”.

“So, human beings will be human beings. No marriage is perfect even pastor’s marriages do scatter. We just have to forgive. Sometimes you get angry and leave the house , you shout for each other and sometimes you will be happy to have this woman in your life”.

“Another thing that have really helped me is I have learnt to be humble in my life and I have learnt contentment. I thing humility helps me to see things in people’s perspectives without necessarily pre judging them”.

“Because if it’s about me they could have pursued me from the marriage. but that woman has tried. Because you know sometimes we are crazy but my wife is committed to the marriage. As guys too we take possible best. Like I always tell my wife one of the things I have done in my life in the whole of the marriage is to make sure that I didn’t prioritise anybody above my wife. Not even my mother, she is late now may God continue to rest her soul.when your are married your wife become your number priority. That is what I can give in terms of my own commitment”.

Asked if he has relocated, Seyi said he hasn’t relocated but he travels to London regularly to go and check up on his wife who resides there.

  • Seyi Law, wife welcome second child

Seyi Law, wife welcome second child

Ace comedian and actor, Seyi Law and his wife, Stacey Aletile, have welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Tifeoluwa.

The comedian announced the birth of their bundle of joy on his Instagram page on Sunday, December 6.

“To HIM whom all men shall bow, be all the glory. Blessed be the name of the Lord. We welcomed our new baby GIRL. Mother, Child, Tiwa and Daddy are doing well.”

Law in a another post wrote more about the baby’s name:

“According to Yoruba culture, she came on a Sunday and she can be called ABOSEDE and close to festive period, you can Abodunde, Abiodun or Abodunrin, but for Birth Certificate sake:

“TIFEOLUWA MUNACHI LAURETTA ALETILE is her name. 6/12/2020.”

The couple welcomed their first child, Tiwa, in 2016.

Earlier this year, Seyi Law stated that he has never gotten any financial reward from a politician.

According to him:”Some people think what I did was politically motivated and that I was targeting Governor Akeredolu because it’s an election year. But in all sincerity, I spoke because that is what I have been doing for a long time. I’ve been clamouring for better governance in Nigeria and better treatment of Ilaje indigenes. My joy is that I didn’t start talking when I lost my aunt; I have been talking before. But, if it didn’t happen to me, who would I have wished it happened to? Nobody has called me from the government to empathise with me but that’s not even what I want. The most import thing is the solution to the lingering problems. I also spoke up during former Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s administration and speaking up again shows that there’s a sense of neglect, which is not fair.

“It’s sad that some think celebrities speak out only for selfish gains or as a witch-hunt. Over the years, some people have used their selfish interests to becloud the judgement of those genuinely calling for change. They say some of the people shouting and leading rallies before are now in government. When people see these happening regularly, they believe that no other person can be truthful. But it’s painful for me because I have always spoken the truth and stood by it.

“From the time that I have been able to attend a protest, I have always spoken based on my conviction. I remember the fuel subsidy protest in Ojota (in 2012), I spoke as I was led. You can see that the people who politicised that protest are now in government and (we all know) what they have done. I have never received a dime from any politician and that is a statement of fact.”

  • Ali Baba, Seyi Law decry sponsorship challenges

A-list Nigerian comedians, Atunyato Akpobome a.k.a Ali Baba and Lawrence Oluwaseyitan a.k.a Seyi Law, have decried challenges comedians face in getting sponsorship for shows.

Veteran comedian, Ali Baba, took to his Instagram page while responding to a fan’s question on why Very Important Personalities (VIP) tickets were expensive in Nigeria comedy shows.

Ali Baba attributed it to cost of planning the show, adding that the VIPs were the ones that bore the cost of the show.

“alibabagcfr @Collinsmohot because the VIPs bear the cost of the show.

“If your show cost you N150million, how much regular tickets will return your investment?

“Say the hall is 2,000 capacity, how much will regular pay? Besides, cost of planning a show oversea is far cheaper,” he wrote.

He added that the cost of planning a show overseas was cheaper than shows in Nigeria.

Similarly, Seyi Law said that cost and demands of hosting an event in the country without sponsorship drive up ticket pricing.

The comedian commended Ali Baba on his response to his fans on his Instagram page.

“Thanks @alibabagcfr for constantly educating the people about the activities of entertainers and events managers.

“I can’t write the epistle needed to drive home this point. The cost and class demands of the events in Nigeria without sponsorship drive up ticket pricing.

“These and more are the reasons we are constantly grateful to media houses that oblige us their platforms for advertising.

“Now, AFCON is encroaching into that territory to frustrate our efforts.

“What is the government doing to encourage these businesses that create 100 to 200 direct and indirect jobs per show?

“Make I leave the matter for now. I am looking for sponsors for my Abuja show abeg,” he wrote.

The duo is known for their various comedy around the globe and they have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the entertainment industry.

They have also won numerous awards, which made them outstanding in their careers.

  • Buhari’s administration put pressure on entertainers- Seyi Law

Buhari’s administration put pressure on entertainers- Seyi Law

Popular comedian, Seyi Law has opened up on how entertainers fared under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to a troll, who commented on his photo and called him out for publicly supporting looters, the comedian noted that an impoverished nation makes it easier for entertainers to make more money as citizens seek other means of making themselves happy.

In his statement, Seyi Law said he did not buy a house under former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration but did under the current administration .

Hear him: “One of the reasons, I didn’t disclose my Presidential vote is because of some ignorant people. If I said I voted Atiku, they will say I wanted looting to come back like this one right here and if I said it was Buhari, many we would say I am supporting poverty.
Every administration comes with it’s own mistakes. During Jonathan’s term, I was comfortable because I believed spotlight was on entertainment and the industry grew, but a few benefited massively. Buhari’s tenure brought more money to the business, but outside poverty put a lot of pressure on entertainers and many capitalised on it doing giveaways to gather more followers.

I decided to help secretly in Dms and some of the beneficiaries can attest as I believe poverty shouldn’t be used as a tool for fame. People’s dignity must be protected even if some lack respect in themselves.
I have congent reasons to vote Buhari and also have enough to vote Atiku as the other candidates are not even ready yet. In all, I voted my choice and did you vote yours? Let’s learn to learn from each rather than attacking ourselves over people more concerned about themselves.

The Buhari you are fighting for doubted his wife’s loyalty so who are you please. From unverified source, they claimed Atiku lost at home, do you know him more than his people?
Minding your business and self will guarantee better living. Next lever or getting Nigeria working again, the most important thing is a BETTER NIGERIA for Nigerians.
    God bless you.”

  • I didn’t take permission from my wife before playing my divorce prank – Seyi Law

Comedian and actor, Seyi Law recently caused a stir on social media when he posted a message stating that he and his wife had gone their separate ways.

In a chat with Punch, Seyi Law noted that after the prank, ladies, about 50 of them, did not wait for the dust to settle before wooing him with text messages.

According to him: “I was going to the UK to visit my wife and promote my show as well. While I was on the plane, I just had that weird idea. I was curious about what people’s reaction would be if they heard that Seyi Law was no longer married. I knew that if I was going to test it, I had to be sarcastic and witty about it.

“That was why I put some words in a way that people would not pay attention to (what I was doing). Apparently, they didn’t pay attention to the details; I tried to play with words in that post. Interestingly, the incident showed me that people love and appreciate my family; I also learnt that bad news travels faster (than good news).

“I thank God for a good and understanding wife; I didn’t take permission from her before playing that prank. When she saw it, she couldn’t reach me because I was still on the plane. People had been calling her repeatedly. Also, when I landed, my phone rang repeatedly. I called her to explain things to her immediately we saw each other.

“She said I should have carried her along because she didn’t know what to tell people when they called her. My wife is my number one critic; that is the beautiful thing about my marriage,” he said.

Those I trusted the most are my enemies- Seyi Law

Seyi Lawrence Aletile aka Seyi Law has revealed that his greatest enemies are those he trusted the most.

The award winning actor cum comedian said his wife recently spotted his first grey hair and he was forced to ask himself the wisdom he has gained in life.

“Yesterday, my wife spotted my first grey hair and I began to ask myself what wisdom have I gained from life. What lessons have I learnt on my journey? One of the most profound lessons is, if those who live indoor with you don’t talk, those outdoor will have limited chance of harming you”.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsh6OS6nFEH/

He further stressed that the enemies most people have are those around them.

“It took Judas to sell out Jesus. It took Joseph’s brother to sell him to slavery and it took Ahithophel to destroy David’s house, but in all of these with all their evil, there are fulfilment of purposes despite the hurts.

Those who I have trusted the most have been my greatest enemies, always talking without been asked or succumbing to lies about me, but as I leave them behind, God always opens a new chapter that celebrates His Grace and Glory in my life that they always wished they were a part of.
One of my ernest prayers is God take all the glory and leave none to any man and He has always done. If you are open enough, He will show you your enemies who you think are friends”.
