    Burna Boy, Shatta Wale rift is disappointing – Music executive

    US-based Nigerian music executive, Akeju Abass has reacted to the recent rift between Nigerian music superstar, Burna Boy, and Ghanaian star, Shatta Wale.

    The Ghanaian music artiste had, during a live concert in Ghana, accused his Nigerian counterparts of not loving and supporting them.

    Popular singer, Wizkid had also weighed into the comparison between Nigerian artistes and Ghanaian artiste, saying that both sides are just the same.

    However, Ghana artiste, Stonebwoy had said that although Shatta Wale’s approach may be wrong, his message is valid.

    Shatta Wale had thrown a shade at Nigerian artistes after selling out the Accra Sports Stadium for his concert.

    At the concert, he boasted that he did not need Nigerian musicians to fill up the biggest stadium in Ghana.

    Akeju, who recently launched Faces of Afrobeats, a campaign to celebrate African artists, urged stars from both countries to look at the positive side of building peace and a united Africa.

    “The recent rift between Ghanaian and Nigerian stars is really disappointing. Music is one of Africa’s biggest exports. We have international spotlight on us. This is time to preach peace and shouldn’t allow any form of disunity set in”, he told DAILY POST.

    The faces of Afrobeats campaign has featured some notable African stars like, Grammy-award winner Angélique Kidjo, Burna Boy, Davido, Shatta Wale, Flavour, Psquare, Diamond Platnumz, Wizkid, Sarkodie, R2Beez, Simi, Yemi Alade and many others.

    Akeju, while highlighting the impact of African music on the global stage, added that Afrobeats has gained lots of positive reviews amongst music lovers.

    “Our artists are gaining international recognition. Almost everywhere you go in America, there’s a playlist for African songs. This is really encouraging and we must learn to appreciate them”, he said.

    Ghanaian musical artist, Shatta Wale has said Nigeria’s Grammy award winning musician, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy cannot last 5 minutes in bed.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Shatta Wale stated this further fuelling the ongoing rift between musicians.

    Recall Shatta Wale has been ranting for days about Nigerians not doing enough to promote Ghanaian artists and their music in Nigeria.

    In Burna’s initial reply, he accused Shatta Wale of pushing an agenda of separation and then proposed a one on one fight with him to squash it off.

    While Shatta Wale wants to instead face Burna Boy in a freestyle battle, the Nigerian singer had to clarify that he’s only interested in a physical fight between them, adding that he wants to see the Ghanaian singer’s teeth and blood on the floor.

    Hitting back at Burna Boy in a series of tweets, Shatta Wale made several claims against the Nigerian singer while insisting he only wants lyrical battle and not fist fight.

    In some of his tweets, he mocked Burna for allowing his mom manage him, claiming she’s controlling his career, accused him of hiding his father from everyone.

    He also claimed that he helped Burna when he had a Police case in Nigeria, and alleged that the Nigerian singer is a 5 minutes man.

    I won’t react to Shatta Wale rant – Olamide

    Popular rapper, Olamide Adedeji a.k.a Baddo has stated why he won’t react to Shatta Wale’s rant.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that the embattled Ghanaian artiste had blasted Nigerian tweeps on Monday morning, telling them to be grateful to Ghana for supporting Nigerian artistes.

    The rant began on Sunday where the rapper threw shades on Nigerian artistes after selling out a Ghanaian stadium.

    Referring to that, the rapper said, “I won’t prove any point of filing a particular place to make me a big star. That’s what you people see as stardom.

    “You don’t even have dancehall artistes. Come to Ghana – we have varieties ,from banku to fried rice and you own indomie. We have all.”

    His rant has elicited different reactions from Nigerian entertainers like DJ Big N, Yul Edochie, Akpororo and others.

     

    In a new development a certain fan @Femiwest247 had asked Olamide why he kept mum on the Shatta Wale episode. In his response, Olamide said: “Tell someone how you feel does not hurt as much as saying nothing at all”.

    Shatta Wale slams Rema for ‘spitting on the dignity of Ghanaians’

    Controversial Ghanaian rapper, Shatta Wale has once again fired Nigerian artistes again as he accused Rema, of disrespecting Ghanaian women.

    The artiste made this known while reacting to Rema’s comment of having 10 Ghanaian girls to himself once he arrived in the country.

    Rema tweeted, “10 Ghana girls once I land tomorrow to ease my mind.” (sic)

    In his reaction, Shatta Wale tweeted, “See total disrespect to our Ghanaian women. Don’t you have money to go for a massage? Come chop ‘cause alone get d*ck. Nonsense tweet. All in the name of I’m a star.

    “Using Ghanaian ladies in such a comment is like you spiting on the dignity of Ghanaians.”

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Shatta Wale had earlier tweeted about Nigerian artistes, saying, “The table will soon turn. No man bigger than God! Ghana artiste go shine on the global market one day. Enjoy your time. But don’t come complaining when it’s our TIME!” (sic)

    Yul Edochie has interfered in the Shatta Wale saga about Nigeria’s music industry.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Shatta earlier threw a jab at Nigerian singers who he said failed to reciprocate the support they got from Ghana.

    The dancehall singer had, during his recent sold-out concert, said he didn’t need Nigerian allies to hit big.

    Shatta further described Ghana as “heaven” and a “gateway” for Nigerian singers.

    His rants have since stirred up a wave of condemnatory comments from Nigerian entertainers.

    On Monday, Edochie took to Instagram to write a post where he expressed disappointment at Shatta’s actions.

    He also urged the Ghanaian singer to apologise to Nigerian musicians.

    “I remember when Nigerian movie producers were giving all the lead roles to Ghanaian actors a few years back, no Nigerian ever came out to say ‘f**k Ghanaian actors’,” Edochie said.

    “I have lots of fans from Ghana who send me goodwill messages daily, inviting me to Ghana and I appreciate all of them. I’m a fan of your music. Your track with Beyonce is always on repeat in my car.

    “No matter what is pissing you off, a man like you with a large fan base should be using it to promote peace and unity among Africans and the rest of the world. You should apologise for such a statement.”

    Controversial Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has continued to express his reservations for Nigerian artistes.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Shatta Wale had slammed Nigerian tweeps on Monday morning, telling them to be grateful to Ghana for supporting Nigerian artistes.

    The rapper, however, continued his rant as he stated that Nigerian artistes do not show love.

    “Your artistes see Ghana like heaven. Anytime I say something about Nigeria it hits them hard. You guys sing about love but you don’t have it. All na scam,” the rapper tweeted.

    He added, “Nobody is hating nobody here but the way you Naija people like comparing your artistes to us is absurd.

    “Sorry for those Naija rats saying they haven’t heard my music before. Yes it’s because I am too ok with the love from Ghana where I was born rather than a strangers’ land to intimidate me.

     

    “Ask some of your artistes, they come here and flop. I have many shows I can make reference to. Some even get arrested here and some too dey chop slaps and you want to talk about stardom to me. No sir! Let your artiste tell you the truth!”

    Some Nigerian entertainers have responded to a rant by Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, after his fans filled up a stadium for his show.

    During the show, he paused and revealed he had been told he wouldn’t be able to pull such a huge crowd without Nigerian artistes on the bill.

    He said, “They said I won’t be able to fill my own stadiums, I don’t need any Nigerian artiste to sell out Ghana’s stadium, f**k Nigerian artistes.”

    His comment didn’t go down well with Nigerians who pointed out that they are not his enemies and that there wasn’t a competition in the first place.

    Popular DJ, BigN, who reposted the insulting video said, “My dear shattawalenima I watched this video more than once. I tried to see your point. We are not the enemy. You can’t blatantly say “FxxK Nigerians” and think there won’t be any repercussions. We are not to blame that you are a local champion.

    “Stop this bickering and talk true, Naija man don collect your babe again abi?” he asked in Pidgin English.

    Comedian, Ushbebe labelled Shatta Wale’s rant, “Useless talk … I no even expect more from am.”

    For actor, IK Ogbonna, the danceha singer’s rant is simply hate speech against the Nigerian people and demanded an apology.

    He said, “Mr Shattawalenima, you are a total and complete disappointment. In a time where we should be growing together and helping each other through creative collaborations. You should appreciate the Nigerian artiste because a win for any Nigerian artiste is a win for Africa. How do you promote unity with utterances like this? This is very weak from you. Deal with your complex issues and grow up. As an artist, I have featured in a few Ghana movies and I have also worked with amazing, adorable Ghanaians here in Nigeria. You should totally apologise for this #hatespeech”

    Singer, Mr 2Kay took a relaxed view to the rant, saying, “We go still come Ghana come flex ❤️ NIGERIANS Lead others follow. Proudly Nigerian

    Shatta Wale granted bail after a week in prison

    Popular Ghanaian artiste, Shatta Wale has been released on bail after spending about seven days in prison.

    The musician was granted a self-recognizance bail after his lawyers pleaded for it at the Accra circuit court on Tuesday, after which the case was adjourned to November 9.

    The 37-year-old musician and his accomplices were thereafter asked to pay the sum of Ghc100,000 each.

    The ‘Dancehall King’ had been in police custody since October 19 when he was arrested for “falsely” claiming he was attacked by gunmen.

    Shatta was charged with publication of fake news but at the Accra circuit court last Thursday, he pleaded not guilty. The presiding judge then adjourned the case until the next hearing set for October 26.

    Prior to his arrest, the dancehall singer, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah, had called for the arrest of Kwesi Appiah, the Ghanaian pastor who he claimed prophesied the gunshot attack on him.

    Appiah was thereafter arrested and charged with spreading information that could cause fear and dread.

    He was later released on Ghc100,000 bail with three sureties.

    On Monday, a video surfaced of Shatta Wale entering the Ankaful maximum security prison in Ghana.

    Inmates at the correctional facility could be seen rejoicing in the open as the embattled singer made his way into the premises.

    Popular Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has said that his life is in danger, as the Ghanaian Police earlier begun a search for him.

    In a statement via his official Facebook page on Tuesday, the singer stated that his life is in danger and he’s on the run.

    According to him, a prophet has told him that he would be shot on the 18th of October and the singer blamed the police for not taking action on such a “threatening statement.”

    According to several posts which surfaced online on Monday, the crooner was shot at East Legon in Ghana. In the same vein, the singer’s representative, Nana Dope, revealed that the singer is alive and has been taken to the emergency ward of a hospital.

    However, the Ghana Police Service via a Facebook post noted that they have taken steps to locate the multiple award-winning singer and are currently searching for him.

    In the lengthy Facebook post titled, ‘This is what I have to say’, Shatta Wale stated that he has always gotten death threats and the police have done nothing about it.

    He said, “Psychological, or emotional trauma is damage or injury to the psyche after living through an extremely frightening or distressing event and may result in challenges in functioning or coping normally after the event.

    “The statement made by this false prophet has gotten me in a mood of violence since no one in this country cares.

    “So the police of this country want to tell me none of them saw those threatening statements online to take action?

    “This pastor said on the 18th October, Shatta Wale will be shot and you want to tell me you didn’t see from your cyber crime department nor did you hear or come across anything like that online?”

    “I won’t wait for Ghana police to call my father and tell my father his son got shot this afternoon. I won’t wait for Ghana stupid media houses to spread news to my fans about me being shot because all we wish in this country is for dead people and funerals.

    “If my life can be threatened and there is no law to take actions on that, then I guess I will do what is right in the eyes of God.

    “This is not the first time I have had these threats in this country. Now I am going these emotional trauma alone. My dad has even defended me on radio on this same issue. why? Why? Ghana? Why?

    “Yes, my life is in danger and I’m on the run till this country shows me there are laws. Deportee, I’m sorry for taking your phone. Dope, sorry for taking your phone.

    Popular Ghanaian dancehall singer, Shatta Wale has thrown a jab at Davido after he recently revealed he got himself a Rolls Royce.

    Davido had taken to his Instagram account to announce that he just gifted himself his first Rolls Royce as a reward for all his hard work.

    “We rise by lifting others but don’t forget to reward yourself. Just chopped my first Rolls Royce!!

    “God is good and am forever grateful to y’all,” he wrote.

    Reacting, the Ghanaian singer who seems to be at loggerheads with Davido took to his Instagram story to throw shades at him for using his father’s money to show off and always claiming it’s hard work.

    Shatta Wale also said that he doesn’t use his father’s money for hype but rather uses his own hard earned money to do real stuffs.

    According to him, “real hustlers are the real money makers.”

    “We started from the bottom now we are here. I don’t use my father’s money for hype, I use my own money to do my own real stuffs.”

    “Real hustlers are the real money makers.Lately this money has been telling me to buy any car of my choice and we will do It because we got shelters not shelter,” he wrote.

    He further noted that even though he hasn’t been signed by a label in America yet, he has been recognized by Beyonce.
