  • Simi laments over starting live concert hours behind schedule

    Sensational singer, Simi has tendered her unreserved apology to her fans who took to social media to condemn her over the poor organization of her Lagos Concert yesterday tagged ‘See Me Live In Lagos Concert’.
    The ‘See Me Live in Lagos Concert’ held at The Balmoral Convention Centre at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos was slated for 6 pm but didn’t kick off until about five hours later.
    When Simi eventually mounted the stage at about 10:30 pm, she apologized for the late start of the concert.
    On Monday morning, the ‘Jamb Question’ crooner also shared a video to apologize and explained the reasons for the unfortunate incident.
    Simi noted that an event took place at the same venue the previous night and so it was not so possible for her team to organize and set up the venue in so short a time.

    In her words: “I’m sorry I’m probably more upset than everyone, but I accept responsibility., I hope I can find a way to make it up to you, please don’t judge me by this one thing, I love you,” Simi said as she ended her video.
  • Falz, Simi, other pay tribute to Tosyn Bucknor on new song

    Friends and family members of deceased Nigerian on-air personality, Tosyn Bucknor gathered yesterday at Harbour Point, Victoria Island where a service of songs was held in her honour.

    Nigerian celebrities like Falz, Simi, Tee-A and her other media colleagues were in attendance.

    At the event, Falz the Bahd Guy, Simi, Moelogo and producer, Sess used the opportunity to unveil their tribute song to Tosyn.

     

     

    Falz opens the moving track, rapping about Tosyn’s impact in his early days as a rising artiste.

    “You’ve been there from day one, how can I not remember, and you showed me love like your own family member…”.

    Radio for Bucknor started with Tee-A on Eko89.7fm after which she interned at Cool 96.9fm where she hosted the Fun Hour Show on Saturdays. Beginning with her youth service in 2009, Bucknor was a morning show radio host at Top Radio90.9fm. She was the only female radio host handling the morning belt by herself.

  • Simi, Wande Coal thrill London fans in sold-out concerts

    Nigerian singers, Simisola Ogunleye a.k.a Simi and Oluwatobi Ojosipe aka Wande Coal pulled off electrifying performances at their individual sold out concerts in London.

    News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that while Wande Coal held his concert at the over 2, 000 capacity Indigo at the O2 Arena, Simi took to the 800 capacity O2 Academy on Sunday night.

    The show was Simi’s first London show and she performed some of her hit songs sharing the stage with Falz The Bahd Guy, Adekunle Gold.

    Meanwhile, Wande Coal, whose show was co-hosted by Basketmouth, took the guests on a musical journey with a live band and surprise performances from Burna Boy and Naira Marley.

    However, both concerts went wild when superstar singer Wizkid, dropped by to surprise Simi and Wande Coal at their respective events.

    Reacting to the surprise, Simi took to her Instagram page @simplysimi to thank him for the honour. She said, “Wizzzzz Ayo Starboy!!! He surprised me backstage.

    “I didn’t even have my wig on. He showed up for me. I am so thankful to you for being a part of this day for me. God bless you!!!” Simi said.

    Following the shows, fans took to social media to give raving reviews about the shows and praised Wizkid’s support.

    NAN reports that Simi, who recently released a new single ‘Lovin’, is set to hold the Lagos edition of the concert in December.

  • Simi declares love for Adekunle Gold

    Nigerian songstress, Simi couldn’t contain her joy as she successfully held her first major sold-out concert at the Islington 02 Academy in London on Sunday 11th of November 2018.

     

    After the event on Monday, the ‘Jamb Question’ crooner took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude to the individuals who were instrumental to the success of the show.

    Describing Adekunle Gold’s contribution, the singer shared a photo of both of them with the sweetest words for him.

     

    She wrote:” The finest boy I know brought his sauce. You my Champion boy! Thank you. I love you”.

     

    A lot has been said about Adekunle Gold’s romance with Simi. No one really knows the true state of the relationship because the duo haven’t come out to state that they are in a relationship.

     

    The singer who recently released his sophomore album titled ‘About 30’ noted that they don’t have to announce to everyone that they are dating. Gold added that since he wrote ’Orente’ for Simi, people should be able to decode themselves.

     

    In his words: “For every time that I get this question, it just worries me. I already told you I wrote ‘Orente’ for Simi. How many times do I have to say it? Why do I have to say it directly? It is what it is, I have said it already. The news is everywhere. I don’t need to finally say it that we are dating. We don’t need to come out that we are dating. What else do you want me to say, Yes we are dating?”

    Nigerian pop star, Wizkid shocked the duo of Simi and Wande Coal last night by making a surprise guest appearance at their respective concerts held in London last night.

    Wande Coal held his concert at the over 2,000 capacity Indigo at the 02 arena odeum while Simi took to the 800 capacity 02 Academy Islington for her first solo London outing.

     

    Wizkid showed up at their concerts unannounced.

    Amazingly, both stars have taken to their various social media handles to mobilize fans for their concerts.

    Don Jazzy, record producer and Mavin Records founder, described the concert as the best live event he has ever attended in Lagos.

    Many music lovers were thrilled and excited when Lagbaja and Simi on Saturday performed at the Johnnie, Jazz and Whisky music and flavours night in Abuja.

    The duo performed Lagbaja’s “Never Far Away” at the JJW concert in Central Area, Abuja, and Simi described the experience as “meeting a legend.”

    The organisers availed the audience an opportunity to enjoy good music .Simi noted that she savoured her encounter on the stage with Lagbaja, adding that it was a chance of her life.

    She said, “So, yesterday, I met a legend. I had the time of my life. Living my dreams; God is good.”
