. She posted, “I cannot make much of the hostility of strangers who do not know me. Fame taints our views of the humanity of famous people. But the truth is that the famous person remains irretrievably human. Fame does not inoculate the famous person from disappointment and depression, fame does not make you any less angered or hurt by the duplicitous nature of people.

“To be famous is to be assumed to have power, which is true. But in the analysis of fame, people often ignore the vulnerability that comes with fame and they are unable to see how others who have nothing to lose can lie and connive in order to take advantage of that fame, while not giving a single thought to the feelings and humanity of the famous person.”

    Samklef apologises to Simi

Popular music producer, Samuel Oguachuba, aka Samklef, has taken to social media to apologize to famous singer, Simi, and other women.

The outspoken music producer wrote: “Hello everybody! My name is Samuel Oguachuba, aka Samklef. I am doing this video because I really want to apologise to the women out there based on my statement last week. I really apologise for what I said; and to Simi, I really apologise to you too.

“I wish you all the best in life. I am not perfect and I have my emotions too. I am not justifying my actions but I just want to say that I am sorry to everybody for my statement when I said women raised by single women are toxic. I really apologise for that statement and I want you guys to forgive me for my words.”

TheNewsGuru recalls that last week, Wizkid shared a snippet of himself and Tems on set for the visual for the song, ‘Essence’, a move which soon generated diverse reactions on Twitter.

While reacting to the post, Samklef tweeted, ““Everybody can’t wait to see Tems yansh. Me self dey wait. Who Dey dey wait with me?”

His comment elicited heavy backlash on Twitter, especially from Simi who tweeted, “WTF is wrong with you.”

In a bid to justify himself, the music producer, in a series of now-deleted tweets, slammed Simi as he wrote, “Eye service better face front. U 2 know abi? U wan show yourself.

“Why didn’t u dm to take it down? But na u only pass abi? Simi. Toxic. @Symplysimi u ingrate. Cause u think say u don blow. I go delete that tweet. But u f up.”

In the same vein, Samklef mentioned Erica in his tweet, stating that although she had sex on national television, everyone had moved on from the episode.

In a swift reaction, Erica warned Samklef never to mention her name. The television reality star said, “Excuse me, I don’t know you; so, please keep my name out of your sewage mouth. You just had to insert me in your drama today! I will not be associated with you!”

  • I was told I won’t make it without doing sexy songs- Simi

I was told I won’t make it without doing sexy songs- Simi

Popular songstress, Simi is no doubt one of the most sought after singers in Nigeria at the moment. The ‘Duduke’ crooner says she was told she won’t go far, if she fails to do sexy songs.

Going down memory lane, the outspoken artiste in a chat with journalist, Joey Akan said:” I remember before I got signed. I remember somebody used to say ‘Simi, you can’t make it if you don’t do sexy-sexy. That the only way a girl can make it is when they are doing sexy things’. And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to do sexy things.’ This is not about anybody else doing it. If you play on something that is not your strength, eventually your pant would show.”

Speaking further, Simi revealed that music wasn’t one of her favourite things during pregnancy.

“Music wasn’t one of my favourite things at that time. I didn’t want to record. And it really hurt me because I just renovated my studio, so I was really excited. I didn’t expect to feel like that. I couldn’t record, I didn’t have any energy. For like almost four months I was just not in the mood”.

On how she copes with backlash whenever she shares her opinions on trending issues, Simi stated that she doesn’t give people access to her emotions.

“I might have been born with a second skin actually. Because I don’t give too many people access to my emotions. I know people say—especially with social media now—everybody has access. So I know that I can’t afford to let everything get to me, otherwise I’d just crash and burn. People tend to say whatever they are feeling. And now that they have access to just anyone on social media now, they are more eager to say ‘this is how I’m thinking.’ Even though they don’t mean bad, they say it and don’t think about how that works. So because I understand that, it’s hard for you to say something to get to me. Especially if I know the truth. Like ‘Oh Simi, you’re a boy’ or ”Simi, you’re white’. Because I know the truth, it doesn’t really hit me like that”.

“Everybody can’t wait to see Tems yansh. Me sef dey wait. Who dey wait with me,” his now-deleted tweet read.

However, the music producer’s remark did not go down well with his colleagues as Simi reprimanded him for it.

She retweeted his post to her Twitter timeline, disapprovingly asking Samklef what was wrong with him.

To shield his tweet, the music producer shared a series of now-deleted tweets and lashed back at Simi. Describing her criticism as “eye service”, Samklef asked why she decided to go public rather than reach out to him personally.

“I’m doing this video because I need to sincerely apologise first. I posted that caption because Wizkid and Tems were going to do a video,” he said in another video.

“So people are saying, ‘we can’t wait to see her backside’. Everybody knows I play too much. Simi has my DM. She did not message me but went on Twitter because she wants to see me down.

“She couldn’t DM me if she felt the tweet was sensitive. One of my friends called me. But she had the guts. Who are you? Because of you, I left the gospel music industry. People don’t know how fake you are.”
