One of my favorite things about you is that you’re a really, really good person. I like you a lot. I’m so proud to know you and be your wife. I pray that God continues to be the foundation of our marriage and home.

Shame on you all!, Simi bashes Nigerian leaders

Popular singer, Simi has taken a swipe at Nigerian politicians over their handling of the lingering nationwide strike embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

The award winning singer accused Nigerian leaders of dashing the hopes of its citizens saying most Nigerian youths spend half of their lives trying to survive due to fewer opportunities in the country.

“Higher institutions are on strike for months almost, if not every, year. The odds are always stacked against the average Nigerian. You spend the first half of your life just trying to survive. To eat. To catch up. When you finally decide to settle, you don’t have enough to do even that,” she tweeted via her official Twitter page.

Continuing, she wrote, “Taking away the hopes and dreams of the youth. Destroying their futures so they’re ready to settle for crumbs. Just so they can live to see the next day and fight for more crumbs. Because they’re not your children, their futures don’t matter? Shame on you!!

“If the leaders in our own country can’t have compassion for their people, then what can we really do? They get into power and abuse it, abuse the people they should be serving. The rest of the world laughing at the so-called giant of Africa. Shame on all of you!!”

ASUU strike: You take away dreams of the youth–Simi blasts Nigerian leaders

Outspoken singer, Simi has slammed Nigerian leaders over the sustained strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

ASUU has been on strike since March as the government and union failed to reach an argument.

The failure of the government and ASUU to reach an agreement has continued to hinder students from returning to their respective institutions, being mostly on the receiving end.

Simi took to her Twitter account to express frustrations over the plight of average Nigerian and called out Nigerian leaders over the prolonged ASUU strike.

According to her, the government is not concerned about the dreams and future of youths in Nigerian universities.

Her tweet read: “Higher institutions on strike for months almost, if not every, year. The odds are always stacked against the average Nigerian. You spend the first half of your life just trying to survive.

“Taking away the hopes and dreams of the youth. Destroying their futures so they’re ready to settle for crumbs. Just so they can live to see the next day and fight for more crumbs. Because they’re not your own children, their futures don’t matter? Shame on you!

“If the leaders in our own country cannot have compassion on their own people, then what can we really do? They get into power and abuse it, abuse the people they should be serving. “

Taking a swipe at the government, Simi said: “The rest of the world laughing at the so-called giant of Africa. Shame on all of you!!

“Imagine doing a four-year course for eight years but still no job. This wickedness is too much.

The President’s speech destabilized me- Simi

Myriad of Nigerians have reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to mention the attack on unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate.

Buhari’s address came 48 hours after soldiers invaded the Lekki toll gate where thousands of protesters had been demonstrating against police brutality for 13 days.

Nigerian singer, Simi took to her Twitter page to open about how she feel about the President’s speech.

In her words:” So that’s it then? My heart is so broken. I’m crying. It’s like he just zapped the small hope I was clinging to. Sigh.He didn’t even acknowledge them. Wow.This speech just destabilized me”.

Hours later, the ‘Jamb Question’ crooner urged Nigerians not to lose hope, adding that we cannot give up on Nigeria.

“We can’t lose hope. I felt so broken, but as with any fight, It’s okay to stop and breathe. I needed that and so I switched off my phone, gave my baby to my mum and went to record. Do whatever u need. WE CAN’T GIVE UP! We already knew it’s a long game. Keep ur head up! #EndSars”.

Nigerian singer, Simi has learnt her voice to the #ENDSARS protests ongoing in severe parts of the country.

The outspoken songstress has taken to her Instagram page to express her thoughts on police brutality in Nigeria

She wrote: “To be honest, recently, I started to feel a certain lack of hope as regards Nigeria. I was afraid that we are too far gone for redemption. But that’s bullshit. Nobody can, nobody should fight our fight like us. It’s amazing that our people have decided to use their voices like this. At a certain point, enough becomes too much.

“I’ve personally encountered this, I have friends, family that have encountered this. Police Brutality has to end. There is no excuse for this. Not just with the police, but with the unfair treatment of the Nigerian people. I’m not able to join protests right now, but as always, I’m with you! I pray our voices count this time around #EndSars #EndPoliceBrutality”.

In the same vein, Korede Bello has also denied he had been silent on the #EndSARS .

“I am not silent & I’ve never been silent. I’ve only been speaking in spaces I’m convinced can decisively provide policy solutions to these recurring challenges.

“Something has to give & we must adopt & consistently implement solution that works for our country & generations unborn.”

Artistes I will love to collaborate with are Simi, Tiwa, Tuface, Vector, Erigga, Sarkodie and others.Tiwa is my top choice because I love how she sings and I am also her big fan.

Who is your celeb crush and why?

Simi is my celeb crush but she is married now. I and Simi graduated from the same school but she was my senior. We were in same dance group back then which is called Reflection. I don’t mind having collaboration with her.
