    Adekunle Gold, Simi set to release joint album

    Newly wedded couple and singers, Adekunle Gold, 30, and Simi, are reportedly set to release a new album this year.

    Talent Manager, Bizzle Osikoya hinted this on his twitter handle @bizzleosikoya, where he shared an image that jointly credited both artists on a pre-order project not fully revealed with the caption “Joint album coming through there’’.

    The newlywed, who recently got married at a private wedding ceremony and have worked together on a number of singles off their individual projects may be combining forces once again.

    Simi’s “Simisola” released in 2017 had earned her both commercial and critical acclaim, and Adekunle Gold’s 2018 sophomore album, “About 30” also showcased his growth in the industry.

    Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known by his stage name Adekunle Gold, is also a songwriter and graphic designer.
    He has released several singles including “Sade”, “Orente”.

    While, Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, professionally known and referred to as Simi, 30 started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008 titled “Ogaju’’.

    Earlier this week social media was awash with reports that Adekunle Gold and Simi got married. Most people didn’t believe because the lovebirds kept it away from the public. Others thought it was a publicity stunt.

    However, in a chat with Punch, Simi’s manager Wale Bello confirmed that the duo is now a couple

    “Adekunle Gold and Simi are already married. They got married on Wednesday in a close-knit ceremony. It was the traditional marriage that they had and they have not yet fixed a date for the white wedding. Although some people are speculating that they would do their white wedding this week, it is false; they only did their traditional wedding.

    “I do not know why they made it a secret but it is what they want. Some people might have felt that it is a music video shoot but it is not. They are married,” Bello said.

    Nigerian music stars, Simi and Adekunle Gold are holding their traditional wedding today at a private venue inside Eko Atlantic which is expected to have 300 guests in attendance.

     

    Though the traditional wedding is said to be an intimate one, but some of your favourite stars have taken to their social media handles to share pictures from the event.

    The likes of OAP Do2dtun, UK based event promoter Smade, YBNL boss Olamide, Moelogo, Praiz, and others were sighted at the event.

    Whenever urban highlife singer, Adekunle Gold is being interviewed, one question that he always get asked is his relationship with Simi. For years, there have been speculations that the singer is dating Simi, a claim he has debunked on several occasions.

     

    Earlier today, it was widely reported that the duo are getting married in an intimate wedding ceremony. Recall that the pair had their wedding introduction in December 2018.

    Their love story reportedly started years when both of them were still struggling to succeed in the music industry. For a long time, it was all love and a blissful life for the young, hardworking couple who were determined to make a name for themselves in the turbulent Nigerian music industry, as they both held on fervently to their dream, their exceptional individual talents being a major driving force.

     

    On how she met Adekunle Gold, Simi said in a chat with Punch:” I met Adekunle Gold while I was performing at an event centre in Lagos. Unknown to me, he had been listening to me since I was a gospel artiste and he said he was a fan of my music. At that time, I just knew him as a graphic artist, popularly referred to as the ‘King of Photoshop;’ I didn’t even know he was a singer, but we just became close from there.”

     

     

    On the part of Adekunle, he has always found a way to avoid questions pertaining to his romance with Simi.

    “For every time that I get this question, it just worries me. I already told you I wrote ‘Orente’ for Simi. How many times do I have to say it? Why do I have to say it directly? It is what it is, I have said it already. The news is everywhere. I don’t need to finally say it that we are dating. We don’t need to come out that we are dating. What else do you want me to say, Yes we are dating?, “he told Goldmyne TV.

     

     

    Their chemistry has always been evident whenever they collaborate on songs together. During his ‘About 30’ album listening party, Adekunle said Simi has to validate any song before he releases it.

     

    “Any song that I write that Simi does not validate, I’m not putting it out…she’s a better writer than me. I fight her (Simi) all the time because she brings the best out of me”.

    Nigerian songstress, Simi has urged fans to stop asking people to choose between two or more artistes.

    Simi made this statement in reaction to a Twitter post asking people to choose whom they preferred between Teni and herself.

    In her reply, Simi said the trend should end with 2018.

    “Guys this is 2019. This needs to end. We all working, we can all shine. Harmless fun, but doing this allll the time be like there’s only room for one or two women to prosper when there’s space for all of us,” Simi wrote.

    Simi, a Nigerian Afro-Pop Singer/Songwritter, who began her journey in mainstream music in 2014, is one of the most talented singers of her time.

    Since her signing to X3M Music in 2014, Simi has released hits including – Tiff, Jamb Question, Love Don’t Care, Smile For Me and also featured in number of hit records such as ‘Soldier’, with Falz, ‘No Forget’ , with Adekunle Gold, ‘Orire’, with Legendury Beatz and a few others.

    In 2016, she released an E.P with acclaimed rapper, Falz, titled Chemistry.

    On Monday morning, Adekunle shared a message of support and reassurance for Simi on Instagram.
