    Tinubu mourns Nollywood actors Mr Ibu, Sisi Quadri

    President Bola Tinubu has received with deep sadness, the news of the passing of two of Nigeria’s ace comic actors, John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu, and Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri.

    This is contained in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Sunday in Abuja.

    Ngelale said that Tinubu consoled with the families of “these gifted thespians who brought joy and relief to millions of Nigerians by the exercise of their geniuses”.

    He said that the President urged the bereaved to take solace in the truth that though these beloved Nigerians have passed on, they lived through their works which would remain an inspiration and a fount of good cheer for many.

    ”The President also commiserates with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), and the entire creative community, assuring them of his support, thoughts, and prayers in this time of grief.

    ”President Tinubu prays for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for all those in mourning.”

    Culture minister mourns Yoruba comic actor, Sisi Quadri

    The Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hanatu Musawa, has commiserated with the movie industry, family and friends of late Nollywood comic actor, Tolani Oyebamiji, known as “Sisi Quadri”, who died on Friday.

    Musawa, in a statement through her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Nneka Anibeze, expressed shock following the sudden demise of the Yoruba actor.

    “l learnt a movie, titled, “Anikulapo: The Return of Spectre,” in which Sisi Quadri played a spectacular role was released on Netflix on Friday and is already making waves.

    “His death at this time when he should be reaping the fruits of his labour is untimely and saddening.

    “I sympathise with his immediate family members on this unfortunate incident and pray for the repose of his soul,” she said.

    Sisi Quadri dominated the online comedy skit-making and the Yoruba movie industry.

    His major breakthrough in the movie industry was when he played the role of an insultive personality in the Yoruba epic movie, “Seniyan Seranko”.

    He captivated his audience with his unrelenting ability to ridicule his rivals in movies without pausing.

    Late Nollywood actor Sisi Quadri buried in Osun

    The remains of Nollywood actor Tolani Oyebamiji aka Sisi Quadri who died on Friday, March 1, has been buried in his hometown in Agbowo area of Iwo.

    Sisi died after a brief illness at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso .

    Mr Marufudeen Lawal, Chairman Odun chapter of Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), said the deceased would be missed by his colleagues in the entertainment industry because of his endowed talents.

    Lawal said the actor’s body was brought from Ogbomoso  on Friday  before his internment and  prayers offered at an open field close to his house.

    He said the late nollywood actor played major roles in the industry that would not make his lovers and followers to easily forget about him .

    ” His death was shocking to us because we never knew he will passed away now . He did not inform us about his sickness , we  would have assisted him  .

    ” We expressed our condolences to his family and loved ones and the entire state ,” Lawal said

    According to him,  plans were on to partner with states governors in order to ensure that their colleagues benefitted from their Health insurance schemes.

    He , therefore , called on Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun to support TAMPAN members by ensuring they all enrolled on the state’s Health Insurance Schemes which would be of great benefit to them.

    Meanwhile, Gov. Ademola Adeleke, has described the late actor as a “great talent” who brought laughter and heartwarming moments to audiences.

    Adeleke in a statement said the actor’s comedic genius and the memories he created on screen will continue to resonate for years to come.

    He also offered his condolences to the actor’s family while wishing them strength during “this difficult time”.

    “Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji (aka Sisi Quadri) was a delight to watch in movies. He was a great talent that illuminate homes and impart valuable messages”.

    ‘Sisi Quadri’s US visa was already approved’ – Show promoter

    A show promoter, Olawale B, the Chief Executive Officer, Fathia Entertainment, Olawale B, has revealed that late actor, Tolani Oyebamiji, popularly known as ‘Sisi Quadri’, had been granted his United States visa before his death.

    Olawale B stated this in an Instagram post via his handle, @fathiaentertainments_showbiz, on Friday.

    He wrote, “So sad to hear the death of Nollywood actor @iamsisiquadir US visa was already approved. date fixed already. Who are we to question God?”

    The late actor who died at the age of 44 was well known for his role in the movie ‘Seniyan Seranko,’ which was released on December 4, 2004.

    Popular Yoruba actor, ‘Sisi Quadri’ is dead

    Nollywood actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as ‘Sisi Quadri’ is dead.

    He is a renowned Yoruba comic actor who is well known for his role in Seniyan Seranko, a movie produced in 2004.

    Sisi Quadri’s death was announced by a colleague, Tunde Olayusuf via his Instagram page.

    He wrote: “Everything in the world is according to the will of Allah, from Allah we have come and unto him we shall all return. May God rest your soul”.

    The late actor hails from Osun State.
