  • We were making a skit, not eating faeces in trending video – Comedians

We were making a skit, not eating faeces in trending video – Comedians

Three comedians in Imo, who were thought to have been eating their faeces in a trending video, have denied doing so, saying that they were only making a comedy skit.

Great Egbuchulam, Solomon Mbata and Arinze Mbah aged 21, 20 and 21 respectively debunked the video reports while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri on Wednesday.

They denied having anything to do with internet fraud, adding that they were completely misunderstood after an anonymous passerby recorded the video, causing it to go viral on social media.

Egbuchulam, popularly known as “Clean-Mumu” and Mbata popularly known as “Baggy_Universe” identified themselves to be content creators and members of a Comedy crew known as “Funny Embassy”.

Also, Mbah, popularly known as “Dat_Skirtboi” admitted that the video was irritating, but said that it was intended to portray the ills of society and the inordinate quest of today’s youths to make quick money.

He called on youths to desist from internet fraud and money rituals but rather, to work hard and align with legitimate means of making money.

”We were not eating faeces, just as many persons believe but, we were portraying the extent to which many persons, especially youths, have gone in a bid to acquire wealth,” he said.
Also, Mbata advised youths to avoid the lure of seeking wealth through diabolic means as the consequences outweighed the possible gains.

Also speaking, Egbuchulam advised youths to learn skills with which they could fend for themselves adding that this would help distract them from negative thoughts.

He however, called on government to introduce more youth-friendly poverty alleviation initiatives, noting that hardship could plunge young persons into money rituals and internet fraud.

“Government cannot afford to overlook the concerns of youths because the pressure is high on them, from friends and family.

“With government intervention, such vices will be reduced to a barest minimum,” he said.

Reacting, Police Public Relations Officer in Imo, CSP Michael Abattam said he was not aware of the trending video but promised to look into the matter.

  • Baba De Baba bows to pressure, apologizes over rape skit

Nigerian budding comedian, Baba De Baba was slammed earlier today for an inappropriate amusing skit on rape.

In the skit, he said: ‘If I want a girl that will sleep in my house and I will spend money on her, I will invite my sister. If you can’t sleep with a man, don’t go to his house’.

Read the story here Baba De Baba rape skit

After so much pressure from NGOs and well meaning Nigerians, he finally tenders an apology.

    Read his apology below

I want to personally apologize to those who find my “Rape Nonsense” video offensive.

I didn’t mean to project RAPE but the MORAL aspect of the video but its unfortunate that nobody cares about morals any more.

The video is about a girl who visited a guy who is not a pastor nor her blood relative and she stayed in his house for a week spending his money and sleeping in the same bed with him, denied him sex and he raped her.

I intended passing a passage that most men can’t control their sexual urge so in order not to get raped, don’t visit a guy u can’t sleep with. instead of Nigerians to see the MORAL LESSON, what they saw was RAPE because RAPE IS SENSITIVE. so we can’t say our mind again.. na wa o.

With the reactions from the video, I can now understand why we have wayward children everywhere.. most times I go to club and I see a 16yr old girl smoking weed with tattoos all over her body and she still stays under thesame roof with her parents without being beaten. I stay alone but I can never try having a tattoo because my father will kill me. as old as I am with my exposure , I don’t smoke nor drink just because my father will not be happy with me if he finds out.. u can confirm from any comedian.

It took me this long to apologize because some women organisations saw the skit and instead of them officially writing a letter(inbox), they were busy twitting and insulting me on my wall and I said to myself “if this is really an organisation, they should be organized enough to inbox me”. None of them even followed me on instagram. they were just coming to insult and go so I know that they may not see this apology because they are not following me and I will not tag them.

I removed the video not because of the NGOs who went about insulting me but for those goof people who took it upon themselves to call and inbox me when they don’t even belong to any NGO on rape matters.

I think the women NGOs should bring up programs to sensitize our girls on how to avoid being raped IN THE CONTEXT OF THIS SKIT.

ON THIS NOTE I WANT SAY “I AM VERY SORRY”

Meanwhile, you know I produced this skit with money, since I have listened to you by bringing it down, you can equally appreciate me by crediting my account. Thanks.
