    Many don’t know I’m also a musical artiste – Celebrity lawyer, Ifunaya excel

    Controversial celebrity  lawyer and social media influencer,  Ifunanya Excel has explained that she is also a musical artiste.

    Excel made this known in a recent interview with Yangi Media, where she spoke of her big dreams of taking her music career to the next level.

    According to the lawyer, she is looking forward to collaborating with industry heavyweights such as Grammy-award-winning Tems and Wizkid, as well as 30 Billion Gang head honcho Davido and Jeriq The Hustler.

    The lawyer-turned-singer said: “There are a lot of artists I look forward to working with. I will like to work with Jeriq, Tems, Wizkid, and Davido.”

    Meanwhile, the lawyer also revealed in another interview that she wouldn’t love to get married.

    She  went further to explain how she grew up with her siblings being neglected by their parents and because of that, she feels being a parent requires 100% lots of work, dedication and attention.

    She said, “I am very ambitious. And I know marriage and children will tie me down.

    “I grew up in a certain kind of home where I and my siblings experienced a lot of emotional neglect from our parents.

    “And because of that, I have grown to know what is expected of me as a parent.

    “I know that if I’m going to have a child, I have to give my child a 100 per cent dedication

    “And looking at my life and my goals and the things I want to achieve, I know that I won’t be able to adequately be a present parent and also be chasing my dreams. So, I just think it’s best not to have any.”

    US court to sentence Hushpuppi September 21

    Thom Mrozek, the Director of Media Relations- United States Attorney’s Office for Central District of California, Los Angeles, has confirmed that Internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, will be sentenced on September 21, 2022.

     

    This was disclosed via email by him on Friday.

     

    Hushpuppi’s sentence date had been moved three times since his conviction in 2021. Valentine’s February 14 date was first chosen for his sentencing before it was postponed to July 11, and now September 21.

     

    The court official, Thom Mrozek, said Hushpuppi, who had pleaded guilty to the alleged $1.1m fraud last year, “…is currently scheduled to be sentenced by a federal judge in Los Angeles on September 21”.

     

    The Billionaire Gucci Blaiso · Instagram influencer (Hushpuppi) is facing criminal charges in the United States for conspiracy to launder money obtained from business email compromise frauds and other scams, including schemes that defrauded a US law firm of about $40 million, illegally transferred $14.7 million from a foreign financial institution, and targeted to steal $124 million from an English football club until his arrest by the Dubai Police in June 2020 and his extradition to the United States.

     

    Hushpuppi posted pictures and videos of his lavish spending on exotic cars, watches, designer clothes, bags from expensive brands like Gucci, Fendi, and Louis Vuitton and of himself boarding helicopters, with celebrities, footballers, and Nigerian politicians or while on charter jets.

    On the night his apartment at the Palazzo Versace was raided in an operation code-named Fox Hunt 2, Abbas was arrested alongside eleven others in six simultaneous raids, detectives seized more than 150 million dirham (about $40 million) in cash, 13 luxury cars worth Dh 25 million ($7M), 21 laptops, 47 smartphones, 15 memory storage devices, 5 external hard drives and 800,000 emails of potential victims alongside suitcases full of cash.

     

    The arrest was part of an FBI investigation that indicted him as being a ‘key player’ in a transnational cybercrime network that provided “safe havens for stolen money around the world .

    N110m fraud: Popular social media influencer remanded in prison

    Popular social media influencer, Portia Emilia has been remanded in prison over alleged involvement in fraud to the tune of N110 million.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Portia Emilia in court on Tuesday.

    She was docked alongside her company, Savannah Crest Investment Limited before Justice Abike Fadipe of an Ikeja Special Offences Court on a six-count charge bordering on felony, to wit stealing.

    The anti-graft agency alleged that the defendant with intent to defraud fraudulently obtained the sum of N110m from one Racheal Akintola and some other people and dishonestly converted the said sum to her personal use.

    According to the Commission, the alleged offence contravenes Section 1 (1) of the Advance Fee Fraud Offences Act 2006 and stealing contrary to Section 280 (1), (12), 8 (7), 285 (1) and 278 (1) (b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011 and retaining stolen property contrary to Section 328 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

    However, the duo pleaded not guilty to the six-count charge, prompting counsel for the anti-graft agency, Innocent Akhanolu, to request a trial date and an order for the defendant to be remanded pending bail perfection.

    Justice Fadipe adjourned until September 23, 2022, for the trial to commence.
