  • ‘Wahala’ in Senator Nwoko’s household as wives fight on social media

‘Wahala’ in Senator Nwoko’s household as wives fight on social media

All not too well as the two wives of Nigerian billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels and Laila, have unfollowed and blocked each other on Instagram, sparking rumors of a rift within the family.

The social media fallout has sent shockwaves across fans and followers, who had long admired the apparent harmony between the two women.

Regina Daniels, the 23-year-old actress turned entrepreneur, has been married to Ned Nwoko since 2019, while Laila, a Moroccan model, joined the billionaire’s household later. Both women have frequently shared glimpses of their lives with Nwoko and their children on social media, portraying a united and luxurious family. However, their recent actions suggest that there may be trouble in paradise.

The drama began earlier this week when Regina posted a photo from a recent vacation with her husband, captioned “Our forever.” Soon after, Laila shared a cryptic Instagram story that read: “Know your worth and stop competing where you don’t belong,” which many interpreted as a response to Regina’s post.

Within hours, both women had unfollowed and blocked each other on the platform, leading to widespread speculation about a possible feud. While neither has directly addressed the issue, sources close to the family suggest that there may be underlying tensions between the two wives, with some pointing to a growing competition for Ned Nwoko’s attention.

In a rare move, Regina later posted another ambiguous message: “Some battles aren’t worth fighting, but some are worth winning,” which further fueled the rumors.

Despite the social media drama, Nwoko has yet to comment publicly on the situation. The billionaire, who is known for his extensive business ventures and philanthropic work, has remained focused on his professional commitments, with no indication that he plans to intervene in the personal matters of his household.

The incident has prompted a flurry of reactions on social media, with fans divided over the cause of the tension. Some are speculating that it could be a temporary issue, while others believe it marks the beginning of a more significant rift.

As of now, both Regina Daniels and Laila have kept quiet on the specifics of the situation, leaving the public to speculate on what lies ahead for the high-profile family. Only time will tell whether this social media fallout will have any lasting effects on their relationship or if it is just another chapter in the complex dynamics of Ned Nwoko’s polygamous household.

Musa said that the armed forces have regulated the use of social media platforms by their members, warning that every member should abide by it.

He said that the 5867 passed out recruits would be added to the fight against insecurity bedeviling many parts of the country.

Social media use: Pastor Jerry Eze sends strong message to followers

The Senior Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, has urged Christians not to feed on everything they see on social media. Eze made the call during his sermon at the church service on Sunday in Abuja.

He noted that certain contents on social media could corrupt the minds of God’s children, negatively influencing their thoughts, spirit and behavior.

“Don’t let everything feed you. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Not everything on social media should feed you. You remember the vile words of the enemy more than you remember what is in the word (the Bible).

“I didn’t even want to talk  about it, but I do recognise that when you head Equatorial Guinea, it fed you and re-fed you, “he said.

He said that God has unique plans for His children, but required them to be in tune with Him. He added that they also need to be intentional about the information they consume on social media, the company they keep, and the places they go.

Eze  urged the congregants to guard their vision in accordance with God’s instructions, just as a pregnant woman was  advised on what to consume to keep her body safe and healthy.

The cleric prayed for wisdom and understanding for the congregants, asking God to guide them on their unique life paths. He added that they should not dwell on their fears and insecurities, but instead look to God for the fulfilment of their new seasons.

According to the pastor, some difficulties are allowed by God to build and prepare his children to handle greater responsibilities in the future.

Meta apologizes for removing Malaysian PM posts on slain Hamas leader

Meta has apologized over the removal of social media posts by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim about the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

It would be recalled that Anwar’s office summoned Meta representatives to seek an explanation on why the leader’s Facebook and Instagram posts about Haniyeh’s death had been removed.

Meta is the parent firm of the two popular social media platforms.

“We apologise for an operational error where content from the Prime Minister’s Facebook and Instagram Pages were removed,” Meta said in a statement emailed to AFP.

“The content has since been restored with the correct newsworthy label.”

The political leader of Palestinian armed group Hamas was killed in the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday in an attack blamed on Israel, which has not directly commented on it.

The slain Hamas boss has since been buried in Qatar where he lived.

Anwar’s posts included a video showing the premier on a phone call with a Hamas official, offering his condolences.

On Instagram, there was a note by Meta, shared by Anwar, that the posts were taken down because of association with “dangerous individuals and organisations”.

Anwar’s office had described Meta’s removal of the posts as “a blatant suppression of free expression” and demanded an apology from the tech behemoth.

Anwar last week accused the tech giant of “cowardice” for removing his posts.

Israel, the United States and the European Union consider Hamas a terrorist organisation.

Anwar, who met Haniyeh in Qatar in May, has defended Malaysia’s ties with the Iran-backed Palestinian militant group, which launched a deadly attack against Israel on October 7 that triggered the war in Gaza.

Anwar stressed during a visit to Germany in March that Malaysia’s links were with Hamas’ political wing and not with its military arm.

  • IGP raises alarm over leaked WhatsApp message circulating on social media, says “it’s not from me”

IGP raises alarm over leaked WhatsApp message circulating on social media, says “it’s not from me”

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has clarified that he is not associated with a WhatsApp message circulating on social media platforms concerning planned nationwide protests. A screenshot allegedly from the IGP discouraging protests in Lagos State was earlier seen.

According to the statement issued on Sunday night by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP emphasised that the message in circulation, which partly reads: “If you are going to join any protest next week, it’s good but ask yourself these questions: Why is Lagos always their target? How about starting from your state?”, did not originate from the police.

The statement further asserts that this message does not reflect the official stance or beliefs of the Nigeria Police Force.

Adejobi’s statement partly reads: “the message, which poses several questions and opinions about protests, does not essentially represent the ideals or views of the Nigeria Police Force.

We urge everyone to disregard this message and other similar contents purportedly from the NPF as the Force makes all communications via its official channels”.

Adejobi assured that the Nigeria Police Force “is committed to maintaining peace and order throughout the country. We do not endorse any message that could incite division, violence, or destruction.

“We encourage all Nigerians to engage in peaceful and constructive activities that would contribute to the progress and unity of our dear country”.

The IGP sternly warned that the “spread of misinformation, disinformation, and fake news, or mischievous recycled contents”, are criminal acts and punishable under the Cybercrime law.

The 41-year-old rapper, in a video live-streamed to her followers, revealed she had pre-rolled joints in her bag, which she said belonged to someone else.

After initially resisting the authority’s request that she get into a police vehicle, arguing that she needed a lawyer present, she eventually relented and got inside.
