    The much anticipated inter-cultural TV Show, Big Brother Titans has begun with the annoucement of 20 housemates competing for a grand cash prize of $100,000.

    The 20 housemates carefully chosen from Nigeria and South Africa will compete strongly for the cash  prize,  fame and endorsements.

    BBnaija host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and BB Mzansi host Lawrence Maleka are hosts of this year’s Big Brother Titans edition, holding in South Africa.

    During the launch, D’banj performed his hit song “Emergency” to the amusement of the audience.

    Ramsey Nouah, others protest Lekki massacre in South Africa[VIDEO]

    Popular actor and filmmaker, Ramsey Nouah alongside his colleague, Fabian Lojede on Wednesday in South Africa joined others to protest the shooting of #EndSARS protesters in Lekki.

    The protest was held at the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria.

    Ramsey posted a picture of himself and four others including fellow entertainer Olalekan Olaleye (aka Agba Inaki) on Instagram, calling them “spearheads of the #endsarsnow movement in Pretoria, South Africa.”

    In the same vein, Fabian also posted a photo and videos of himself, Ramsey, jazz guitarist Kunle Ayo and others protesting in South Africa.

    Lockdown: Man arrested for attempting to smuggle girlfriend in car booth (photo)

    A certain unidentified South African man has been detained by the police for trying to smuggle his girlfriend in the back of his car amidst a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of COVID19.

     

    According to an official from the province of Gauteng, the woman was found in the car booth during a stop and search at a roadblock in the province.

     

    The driver who did not have a permit, was headed to the Eastern Mpumalanga province. Authorities say the woman was also arrested for consenting to be smuggled

     

    South Africa government imposed a nationwide lockdown on March 24th for three weeks but the lockdown has been extended until the end of April.

     

  • What Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi learnt in South Africa

    Nollywood actress Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi who is widely known for her role as Brenda in the M-net hit series Tinsel, recently took to social media to inspire her fans not to stop pursuing knowledge.

    Funlola shared a story on how she journeyed to South Africa recently to gather more knowledge on acting, after 21 years of experience so as to broaden her horizon. She met with widely celebrated South African actor/director Dorothy Gould, who served as her acting coach throughout her time in South Africa.

    The actress further revealed how she couldn’t help but channel her inner ‘Fangirl ‘as she had always been a fan of Dorothy’s works – even expressing how she wished she had more time to spend with the legend, who has had a career and experience spanning over 30 years in film, TV, stage play, and more.

     

    Funlola expressed how she learned so much from Dorothy, despite her achievements.

    She wrote on Instagram: “Knowledge truly is power because after a few sessions with Ms Dorothy, I feel like I can conquer the world. Lol!! As if I knew nothing about acting prior to meeting her…… Whoever you are reading this, whatever it is that you do, I employ you to 1. Acquire knowledge 2. Develop your skills 3. Step out of your comfort zone 4. Go for Gold 5. Don’t take NO for an answer.”

     

    Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi is regarded as one of the pioneers of the new Nollywood – starring in Tinsel for a decade; which marks her longest running TV appearance. The actress has starred in several box office hits, mostly as a lead character or a supporting character, including Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Figurine’; a performance that earned her an AMMA nomination.

    South Africa’s renowned rapper, Cassper Nyovest has stated that Nigerian pop-star, Wizkid inspires him so much.

    The acclaimed hit-maker who is one of the biggest acts in his country, also stressed that unnecessary controversies and absence of team work has stunted the growth of the South African hip-hop scene.

    When it comes to music in Africa, Nigeria and South Africa are the biggest. Wizkid is one of the torch bearers when it comes to taking African music out of Africa. His collaborations with internationally recognized artistes like Drake and Chris Brown speaks volume.

    The self- proclaimed star boy is set to release his first international EP, ‘Sounds From The Other Side,’ on Friday, July 14.
