  • Olajumoke is rude, talks to me recklessly–Live-in lover laments

Olajumoke, former bread hawker referred to as Nigeria’s Cinderella, burst into limelight in 2016 when she by coincidence ran into a photoshoot of Tinie Tempah, a British rapper.

That ‘Cinderella’ moment marked a turning point in her life as she was made the cover girl of ThisDay Style alongside Tempah and landed endorsement deals with brands including Payporte and Sujimoto, who offered her family a rent-free apartment for five years, plus other incentives.

Sadly, Olajumoke’s live-in lover has a different tale to tell.

In a chat with EElive, he revealed that his girlfriend’s celebrity status has been more of a burden than a blessing.

“Sujimoto has been of tremendous help to us, though he couldn’t help me as he promised. I appreciate that it was him God used to put a roof over our heads,” he said.

“Every time I attempt to get a job, I get scorned because they keep seeing the mother of my children as a superstar. Even recently, I asked someone to help me process a vehicle to own on hire purchase so that I can be driving it for commercial purpose.

“I can work even at car-wash outlets, as long as the job is legitimate, I don’t mind. That’s how bad things are, he said in the interview.

Sunday noted that though they live together, they have two children and he is not married that their wedding plans are been botched by Olajumoke

In his words: “My parents had sent words to her mother for about three years now that it was time to formalise our union but Olajumoke has continued to turn down the proposal while insisting that the time isn’t right yet. So, marriage or no marriage is up to her.

“I think she was better when she was with Azuka because Azuka and TY Bello have great connections that paid Olajumoke more.

“I just know her manager calls her, they go out and return late. Sometimes she returns as late as past 12am and without explanations. She doesn’t even tell me where they go and what happens.

“To be honest with you, I’ve had to be tolerating her rudeness. She talks to me recklessly and I get very upset. I know her attitude to me is this reckless because I’m not rich or have a robust means of income.”

For the svelte Olajumoke, life has been hard despite the perks of fame and the fortunes she enjoyed when she was discovered.

“The world expects more from me. That’s why I want to own my house before the expiration of the five-year rent which Sujimoto paid on my apartment at Surulere, Lagos.

“It’s a tastefully furnished apartment and it was Azuka who spoke to her friend, Sujimoto, who later got us the place. She was also the one who spoke to the Payporte CEO who gave me one year contract.

“God will provide. I trust Him, He never fails me.”

  • Buhari’s budget presentation threatened as NASS workers commence warning strike Sunday

Buhari’s budget presentation threatened as NASS workers commence warning strike Sunday

Indications emerged on Saturday that the presentation of the 2019 Appropriation Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari is under threat as National Assembly (NASS) workers are set to commence a four-day warning industrial action from tomorrow, Sunday.

Recall that Buhari had written to the leadership of National Assembly that he would be presenting the 2019 budget proposal to the joint session of the National Assembly at 11am on Wednesday, 19th December, 2018.

The workers had to be placated last Tuesday by the leadership of the Senate and the House of Representatives to shelve their initial strike action after denying lawmakers access to the chambers while paralyzing all official duties that day.

On the same day, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Muhammed Sani-Omolori in response to the workers demand, in a statement heaped the blames on the Ministry of Finance that despite being on first line charge, inadequate release of budgetary allocation makes it impossible for the implementation of the new salary regime for the workers, among other demands.

The workers union, Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) however made a U-turn Saturday following the discovery of over N10b in the National Assembly’s Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) accounts.

The union, according to a source, who pleaded not to be named said it has become obvious that the management had no intention of fulfilling the agreement after a CBN letter dated 21 November, 2018 to the Clerk requesting confirmation to two external auditors, N10,455,891,967,43 in National Assembly’s T24 account number 0020168142065 (Statutory transfer).

Signed by two CBN Directors, the National Assembly was asked to confirm if the information was in agreement with its records, while asking to provide further information that may assist in reconciling the differences, she added.

However, in a leter to its members on Friday, the union said after its emergency meeting of 14th December, 2018, it has been decided that a warning strike would commence on Monday, 17th December, 2018.

By this notice, be kindly informed that the entire members of PASAN shall stay off their respective duties on the mentioned dates,” the memo stated.

As at the time of filing this report, phone calls to the National Assembly’s Spokesman, Rawlins Agada and his House of Representatives counterpart, Abdulrazak Namdas over the development proved abortive as their lines were not available.

  • New Minimum Wage: We’ll resume talks with NLC, TUC on Sunday – Ngige

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, says conciliation on the national minimum wage will continue on Sunday despite the court injunction restraining organised labour from embarking on strike.

The National Industrial Court had on Friday ordered the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) labour not to go ahead with the nationwide strike scheduled for November 6.

Justice Sanusi Kado gave the order in a ruling on an ex parte application moved on behalf of the federal government by the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Dayo Apata.

The unions had threatened to commence an indefinite strike on November 6 to press for a new minimum wage of N30, 000 for workers.

The minister in the statement, however, insists that the conciliation meeting involving organised Labour, the organised private sector and government scheduled for Sunday remain unchanged.

The conciliation meeting involving the Organised Labour, the Organised Private Sector and Government scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation by 6 p.m. is still on course and will hold,’’ he said.

Mr Ngige said this would be followed by another meeting of the National Tripartite Minimum Wage Committee meeting on Monday, November 5 at the same venue.

The minister appealed to all tripartite members to attend the meetings in the interest of the nation and finding a solution to the minimum wage impasse.

He said: “In buttressing Nigeria’s commitment as a member of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the ICC, the President, as the current anti-corruption champion for the African Union, will use the global platform to reaffirm Nigeria’s support to the fundamental values of the Rome Statute and to the ideals of the ICC.’’

He said the President would also highlight his administration’s campaign against corruption in Nigeria at the event.

The presidential aide further revealed that, after the event at the Courtroom, the President would have a bilateral meeting with the ICC Prosecutor, Ms Fatou Bensouda.

He said that Buhari would also attend a dinner hosted by Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji, the President of the ICC who is a Nigerian.

“The Nigerian leader, while in The Hague, will meet with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, to discuss bilateral issues such as migration, peace and security, and economic cooperation.

“The President and his delegation will have a separate roundtable with some Dutch Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of companies based in Nigeria with a view to urging them to expand their investments, especially in agriculture, oil and gas in Nigeria,’’ Adesina added.

He said President Buhari would also tour the Port of Rotterdam and Shell refinery Pernis, Hoogvliet.

According to Adesina, on the margins of the President’s visit, Nigeria and the Netherlands will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral consultations.

He revealed that Buhari’s delegation to the Netherlands would include Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau and Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo.

Others are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; the Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh and the Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Aisha Abubakar.

The Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru; and the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman are also on the president’s entourage.

  • Resurrection: Jesus won greatest victory for Christians on Easter Sunday – Pst. Adeboye

Resurrection: Jesus won greatest victory for Christians on Easter Sunday – Pst. Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has said that the greatest miracle happened on the day of Resurrection of Jesus.

“There is no greater victory ever other than that which Jesus won for us on Easter Sunday, resurrection morning.”

Adeboye said this during the Easter Service on Sunday April 1, 2018, adding, “The greatest miracle that God did was done on Easter morning… He rose Jesus (who had been to Hell to fight off the devil) from the dead!!!

According to him, if Jesus had not risen, our faith would have been in vain. What makes Christianity stand out is that Jesus is alive!!!

For everything, there is a time. Satan did his worst, but Jesus took away the keys of death and hell, and came out triumphant. Due to this we can now say “death, where is your sting?”

“There is only one grave that is empty…the grave of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!
To access the wonderful provisions and privileges you have in Christ our Lord, you must have a relationship with Him.

The Risen Christ is the reason for our witness. #HappyEaster to every Child of God around the world.

  • CHAN 2018: Nigeria beat Sudan, to meet Morocco in final on Sunday

Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Wednesday beat Sudan 1-0 at Marrakech in Morocco to advance to their first-ever final match appearance at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

An early goal by Okechukwu Gabriel helped the home-based Eagles secure a spot in the final.

There, they will meet hosts Atlas Lions of Morocco on Sunday.

As early as the 12th minute, the Super Eagles were dealt a huge blow when goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa sustained an injury, forcing him to be replaced by Dele Ajiboye.

Three minutes later, Sudan had a glorious opportunity to grab the lead, but Ajiboye was quick to read the danger and put it under check.

However, it was Nigeria who found the back of the net a minute later when Gabriel beat Elhadi Akram from close range with a low shot.

In the 25th minute, Gabriel came close to bagging his brace when his left-footed shot sailed inches wide of Akram’s left corner.

In spite of good moves and dominance by the Falcons of Jediane in the dying stages of the half, it was 1-0 at halftime for Salisu Yusuf’s men.

Nigeria looked threatening in the second half, but they were soon slowed down when Ifeanyi Ifeanyi was sent off in the 58th minute after a dangerous tackle.

Coach Zdravko Logarusic’s men would take advantage of the situation to dictate the pace, and Osman Ismaeil saw his powerful shot going wide, with Ajiboye a spectator.

With three minutes to go, Sudan were also reduced to 10 men when Bakri Bachir received a red card for bringing down Solomon Ojo.

Ajiboye however kept the Nigerian team in the lead after producing two brilliant saves in the 90th minute to ensure they are through to the final.

The defeat for the Sudanese means they will meet the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in the third-place play-off on Saturday.
