Sunmbo Adeoye, wife of Pastor David Adeoye and babymama of music star 2Baba, has shared an emotional testimony as she celebrates her son’s 7th birthday
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sunmbo opened up about the difficult road she walked before finally welcoming her miracle child. She revealed that she endured multiple failed IVF treatments and several miscarriages all without any medical explanation.
“After multiple failed IVF’s, multiple miscarriages, with no logical reasons, hope felt like a myth. It wasn’t easy but we kept trusting God,” she wrote.
“My mum kept reassuring me that I will indeed deliver a living baby, year in and out. Then one day, we went for a birthday shoot for my husband, I was bent on celebrating him regardless of the loss we just recorded few months before then.
“That was the night ooo. In the midst of that celebration. We danced, laughed, snapped pictures and that boom, the miracle clicked.
Sunmbo said the pregnancy progressed smoothly through the first and second trimesters, but as she approached the stage where previous pregnancies had ended in loss, fear crept in.
She admitted that anxiety tried to take hold, but her son Nino became an unlikely source of strength.
Sunmbo revealed that when their son was finally born, it marked the end of David’s 21-year wait for a child of his own.
“Then the pregnancy began to grow, 1st and 2nd trimester passed, smooth,” she said.
“The time I usually have the miscarriages came and fear tried to creep in, whispering the past into my womb. No way oo!
“Then, Nino my son, told me in the kitchen “Don’t let fear steal our joy”. I snapped out of it and I chose joy.
“3rd trimester came like a breeze, this child didn’t give me any issue. My friends threw me the very 1st baby shower ever, I was filled with joy, I posted the pictures telling God, “God, this is ours-win or lose”.
“They said, “Take it down”. I said, “Watch Him perfect it.” I guess asking me to pull it down was born out of their genuine fear but I left it there as a sign that HE who began a great work in me will indeed bring it to perfection.
“Did He not do it? Ah! My God did it, wrestled from dilating to epidural to theatre, but we had our Victory at last.
“My husband was right there by my side, Kai Pastor @davidoadeoye stood tall, praying, watching, and fighting and declaring the word while we wrestled.
“He said to me, you are both champions. The moment David was born, his 21 Years of waiting for His own child was finally over.”
Sunmbo further urged people who trust in God for a breakthrough to remain hopeful.
“Today I return with this testimony that is now 7 Years old to thank God for the perfection that is Prince David the champion,” she added.
“And to encourage anyone holding on to God and believing for a settlement, my God will make you laugh.
“You see the belly smiles on David’s face, YES! That’s the one my God will give you.”
