    Tank farm explodes in Delta State

    A tank farm operated by Ebeco Global Link on Saturday went up in flames at Koko town in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.

    The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta Command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the development to newsmen in Warri.

    “The situation has been brought under control,” Edafe said, adding that one person sustained injuries and there was no report of any death.

    Local source said that the incident which occurred in the morning, caused panic among residents.

    The source further said that the cause of the incident had not been established and added that fire fighters brought the situation under control.

    A tank farm belonging to Oando Plc located at Marine Beach, Ijora, Lagos State was on Thursday gutted by fire.

    Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, the Acting Zonal Coordinator, South West Zonal Office, (NEMA) confirmed the development to newsmen in Lagos.
    Farinloye said the cause of the fire which started at the depot about 12.05 p.m. was yet to be ascertained.

    He said all employees working in the facility had been safely evacuated.

    According to him, officials of the Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Fire Service and the Lagos State Fire Service are presently trying to extinguish the inferno.

    A tank farm has exploded leaving residents of Ijegun in Navy Town, Ojo area of Lagos state to flee for safety.

    An eyewitness told TheNewsGuru that the Ijegun depot burst into flame at about midday after a diesel tanker carrying 33,000 fuel derailed and fell.

    The eyewitness said the fire has spread to other tanks in the area, while also saying men of the fire service and other emergency agencies have been called to attend to the situation.
