#FunnyBoneUntamed:5 biggest flops everyone is talking about

Last night in Lagos, fun lovers defied the gloomy weather to attend FunnyBone Untamed, an annual comedy show of Nigerian actor and comedian, FunnyBone.

In no particular order, TheNewsGuru takes a look at the biggest flops witnessed at the event that has generated myriad of opinions on social media

    1.TBoss failed to shine

Amidst the hype that greeted the announcement of TBoss and Bassey as the compere for the show, the former Big Brother Naija stars failed to add spark and energy to the event.

When they mounted the stage, the fire in Bassey’s voice got us to pay attention, but TBoss couldn’t sustain it with the right statements to compliment Bassey. Perhaps the event would have started on a bright note If she had granted the request of Bassey, who teased her to twerk.

    1. Efe’s lacklustre performance

If Big Brother Naija winner, Efe must reign in the Nigerian music terrain, then he needs to upgrade his performance technique. As a rapper, delivering an engaging performance has gone beyond jumping the length and breadth of the stage. Efe’s honey -moon period is over and when it comes to music ratings, Nigerian music lovers will evaluate him, just the way they evaluate any other pop star.

His performance at Funny Bone Untamed was not based on logistics; he needs to master the art of giving an irresistible stage performance.

    1. Helen Paul succeeded in delivering drab jokes

No doubt Helen Paul is a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian comedy industry. The comedienne mounted the stage like someone who was told to deliver spontaneous jokes. At the end of her 5 minutes allotted time, Paul was unable to throw a major punch line that will get the audience cackling

    4. 2face shows his vulgar side

The audience screamed when 2face mounted the stage. You could literally see the anticipation and excitement on their faces. 2baba as he is fondly called performed his popular songs.

The acclaimed pop-star changed the rhythm of the event when he did a vulgar remix of his hit song, Holy. The sexual connotations in the lyrics offended the sensibilities of some individuals in the audience.

    1. Mr Jollof, booed on stage

Warri-based comedian, Mr. Jollof dominated the subject of discussion on social media after he was booed off stage at Funnybone’s show. TheNewsGuru reports that the budding comedian was not at his best as opposed to what he is known for. The embarrassed rib cracker took to his Instagram account to express his disappointment.

Hear him:”Tonight was a bad night for me. I don’t know what went wrong. But the audience didn’t want me on stage.Got booed to get off the stage. Well, every disappointment is a blessing. Well before e turn national news, make I report myself” he wrote.

  • TBoss, Kemen speak on reconciliation[Video]

Embattled Big Brother Naija 2017 housemates, TBoss and Kemen who were recently reconciled have revealed the real details behind Kemen’s disqualification during the show. Social media was the battle field where accusations and counter-accusations were thrown at TBoss and Kemen. While some TBoss fans accused Kemen of molesting the light-skinned beauty, Kemen’s fans also played the same card, blaming TBoss for allegedly consenting to Kemen slipping his hand into her pant. However, the duo have narrated the real details behind the drama that led to Kemen’s eviction.

In a chat with Media Room Hub, Kemen narrated his own side of the story. According to him:” Tboss didn’t lay the accusation. I wish I and TBoss had an opportunity to talk and analyze the video before I was evicted. There was no touch down there, there was no touch. The whole issue of green light didn’t come in; we had a mutual relationship in the house. My disqualification was not because of slipping my hand into TBoss’ pant, because I didn’t do it.But there was a case of touching her without her consent. But people twisted it. I have always wanted to talk to TBoss. As we get along, I will make it up to TBoss. If TBoss gives me the opportunity, I’d love to work with her business wise.”

TBoss in her account said she didn’t know Kemen was going to be disqualified. She added that she was shocked to hear of his disqualification, just like the other housemates.

Hear her:” I didn’t know Kemen was going to be disqualified; I found out the moment other housemates found out. I didn’t speak about the incident because I wasn’t ready and I didn’t want to be put under pressure. I felt betrayed with the interviews Kemen gave after the house, but now I’m in a good place and I have forgiven him. Myself and Kemen are now good, BossNation please stop attacking him. Accepting to reconcile makes us stronger. But this does not mean I knew what happened that night. Let’s just move on” she said.

In her words: “I considered Kemen a friend. He was my go-to guy. He was my buddy, my muscle. He encouraged me. He motivated me. So for what happened to have happened considering all the people that look up to me, it was sad. I was angry.

“I was humiliated and I did feel violated but I don’t play the victim card. I honestly think that the decision that Big Brother took was the only decision that could have been taken. And everything that Kemen has to say about that, na him get him mouth, e fit use am talk wetin him wan talk but he knows and we know.

“I have seen him a few times but I really don’t want to talk to him because honestly the day you (Ebuka) came into the house with Karen, I was thinking what would happen if I see Kemen because I thought there would be a party after then. I just wanted to slap him”

‘I don’t compete, I lead’- TBoss fires back at haters

Controversial Big Brother Naija housemate, Tokunbo Idowu, popularly known as TBoss has criticized some of her fans putting pressure on her on the need to be more outgoing and show more of her private life.

Speaking via an Instagram post shared on Sunday she wrote: “Hi Boss Nation, once again, I want to say a massive thank you for your love and support while I was in the house and now that I’m out. I really prefer to show not tell, but maybe it’s time I address certain things.

“Since I’ve been back from the house, the pressure to show some activity has been immense.

“Everyday I get comments that say, why don’t you post more, why don’t you appear at places more? The question i’d like to ask in return is to what end?

“There is a saying that goes empty barrels make the loudest noise. I have a plan and goals for myself professionally and personally. I’m not posting or screaming about the meetings I’m having or giving progress reports because a lot of these things are confidential.

“I know that most of you wish me the very best, and to those I promise you, that making you proud and repaying your faith in me is my number one priority. I say most because there are still a handful of people who follow me for ulterior motives.

“I’m in competition with NOBODY. The Boss Nation doesn’t compete, we lead. The goal is not to have only one claim to fame – I was a Big Brother Naija Housemate. That game ended the minute I got out. This is real life and the stakes are huge.

“In a short time, you’ll be able to see and hear about all I’ve been working on. Please bear with me, but remember this, the game is over and we’re playing in the big leagues now. Thank you Boss Nation! I love you.”
