Mr Eazi reveals role DJ Cuppy played in connecting him to Temi

The two love birds currently trending on social media, the Leg Over crooner, Mr Eazi and his fiancee, Temi Otedola, are up to the moon, but not without the role played by popular Disc Jockey and artiste Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy.

According Mr Eazi, DJ Cuppy, who is Temi’s sister and currently studying for a second Master’s degree at the University of Oxford, was the connector between the two lovers.

Mr Eazi was quoted as saying he met his fiancée when her sister, DJ Cuppy, who is his friend, invited him for one of her numerous events in London, United Kingdom.

According to him, they were left at the same table and got talking after DJ Cuppy left the table for the stage to perform.

“I met Temi in London. It was an event, her sister invited me to an event. Her sister was playing at the event, somewhere in Knightsbridge and she said, oh come out, follow me to this event, so I followed her to the event and then she was deejaying and all of a sudden it was just me and Temi sitting down and just watching her,” Mr Eazi revealed.

However, Eazi said the celebrity Disc Jockey didn’t, at any point, formally introduce Temi as her sister or him as a friend, adding that he “toasted” his fiancée in her absence and they clicked.

“Not really, she didn’t like to meet my sister, you know, she invited her sister, she invited me. And by the time her sister came, she was already playing, so her sister came to the table and it was me and her. So, obviously, you have to socialise, so I said, “Hi what’s up, my name is Mr Eazi,” the Leg Over crooner maintained.

Still, Temi revealed in the podcast, ‘How far with Mr Eazi and Temi’ that it was her sister DJ Cuppy who introduced her to him, adding that DJ Cuppy had told her that she liked him but if the relationship didn’t work well with both of them, she would continue her working relationship with Mr Eazi.”

She wrote: “I can never forget the only thing she (DJ Cuppy) said, those first weeks we were dating, she had obviously introduced us and she was there and she was still cultivating a working relationship with you [Mr Eazi].

“And so, she calls me and said ‘so you guys are dating officially and I said, yes, I like him and she said, all I am going to say is that if things don’t work well with you both, I am going to maintain my work relationship with him [Mr Eazi]’ and she was straight up about it.”

He proposed to Temi, fashionista and daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, and the news of their engagement set the internet on fire.

Well, Temi has finally given him “leg over” – a slang that Mr Eazi himself popularized with his hit single, ‘Leg Over.’

Their love story is no doubt a fairy tale if the events that kick-started it are anything to go by.

Still, no sooner had the couple made their engagement public than Nigerian celebrities, palpably excited about it, congratulated the love birds.

They include: Tiwa Savage, Simi, Joeboy, Adesua Etomi, Broda Shaggi, Sharon Ooja, and BBNaija stars Bisola and Neo.

Reacting to the engagement on Sunday, DJ Cuppy tweeted, thanking Mr Eazi for bringing such joy to their family. “Today is one of the HAPPIEST days of my life… Thank you Mr Eazi for bringing such joy to our family! … Oya what is the hashtag for the wedding? Congratulations to my favourite couple on their engagement!

In another tweet, she said, “I’m so happy that my lil sister Temi Otedola has found her personal person! Yo @MrEazi I’ve always wanted an older brother, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! PS: I introduced you guys, so you better find me my own o!”

Indeed, DJ Cuppy played a very pivotal role in the celebrity couple’s love story, as it was through her that Mr Eazi and her sister met.

That was what DJ Cuppy meant when she tweeted on Sunday that she introduced them to each other.

However, Mr Eazi had in an interview he granted in 2018 said though he met Temi through her, she (DJ Cuppy) did not introduce her sister to him, in the strict sense of the word. But he met his fiancée through DJ Cuppy.

It will be recalled that Mr Eazi’s working relationship with DJ Cuppy started when he employed her service as a Voice-over artiste to release the track entitled ‘Fight’. This song was released as the 6th track off his 2017 album, Accra To Lagos.

Still, DJ Cuppy has never hidden her support for her sister. Reacting to the “How Far Podcast of Temi and Mr. Eazi,” she once said listening to the podcast “makes me want to fall in love this year,” urging them to “please stay together forever!”

Mr Eazi and Temi started the podcast in 2021, where they talked about their relationship and the dos and don’ts in a relationship. Now that their relationship is now official and they are set to tie the knot, no doubt they are already armed with adequate knowledge of the dos and don’ts.

Eazi whose real name is Tosin Ajibade, made this known in a podcast released on Christmas day by the singer and Temi Otedola, whom he has been dating for four years.

He said, “One thing that I can definitely remember was that my hair was pink or purple, and to be honest, at the time, I only had tracksuits and we were going somewhere. So, I remember I got pants and a shirt, and I had these Gucci shoes. I probably never wore them again after that day.

“For me, I actually thought it was a big deal meeting him because it was the first time and we were having dinner at a nice place. That is one of the few times where I have respected dress codes to go to a restaurant. I just wanted it to be smooth and cool. I think I was there a little bit late and your dad mentioned it.”

Speaking about that day, Temi noted that she had to keep her father calm and kept telling him that Mr Eazi was stuck in traffic somewhere close.

“I had to tell my dad that you were around the corner and there was traffic. I was stalling and wondering why you were late. For me, that was a big night.”

Also in the podcast, Temi revealed that her sister, DJ Cuppy, told her that if her relationship does not work with Mr Eazi, she would continue to maintain a working relationship with the entertainer.

BILLIONAIRE WAYS: Femi Otedola gifts his three girls 2020 Ferrari Portofino each [Photos/Video]

Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola is not just good at blessing and assisting others in dire need of financial assistance.

The philanthropist and former chairman of Forte Oil PLC is just as good as he is to people outside to his immediate family.

A proud father of three girls and one boy, namely; Florence (DJ Cuppy), Temi, Fewa and Tolani, Otedola on Wednesday surprised his girls when he took them out for shopping and gifted them each 2020 Ferrari Portofino.

What we know about about Ferrari Portofino and price

Not everyone who wants a Ferrari plans to spend all day out on the track. For a specific clientele with a deep appreciation for the marque that desires something a bit less uncompromising, there is the Portofino grand tourer. With 2+2 seating, a retractable hardtop, a front mid-engine layout, and looks to die for, it’s a Ferrari that you can use every day. Fortunately, it’s not all soft because under the hood lies a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 592 horsepower, enough to send the graceful Portofino from 0-62 mph in a much less genteel 3.5 seconds. The Ferrari Portofino pricing starts from 83 million naira.

I am humbled to be given the opportunity to act in Kunle Afolayan’s movie- Temi Otedola

Many were stunned when news broke that Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, Temi, would be appearing in Kunle Afolayan’s forthcoming movie, ‘Citation’.

However in a recent encounter, the fashion blogger revealed that she auditioned for about a month before clinching the role.

“I have been watching Mr Afolayan’s films for a long time. From Figurine to October 1st and when I met him, I told him I had been watching his movies for a long time. He then told me that he had a script he was working on and the lead character is actually a girl around my age. It was a story I could relate to and I was interested. I felt it was a character I could interpret well. I read the script and I was so excited. For a whole month, I had to audition because he wasn’t sure. For about six months, we discussed the role and I’m so excited because I feel the story would resonate with people. Also, I believe that I would do justice to the role. I really cannot give much details about the script but I’m so honoured and humbled to be given this opportunity”, she told PUNCH.

Sharing what drew her to the script, Temi said: “The message is to tell women that we are hearing their stories, that we believe them. Women are being harassed in several ways and I believe that this movie would embolden those who are affected to come out and tell their stories.”
