Send terrorists to hell instead of going after BBC – Fani-Kayode tells FG

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has asked the federal government to go after terrorists and send them to hell instead of going after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and other media platforms for airing their messages.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Fani-Kayode made this known on Thursday while saying foreign mediums interviewed Osama Bin Ladin, the leader of Al Qaeda too just as they aired the interviews and messages of evil men like Mohammed Al Baghdadi, the founder of ISIS and Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.

“Thankfully these evil men were all eventually killed by security forces so they were no longer in a position to grant any self-serving interviews. That is the best and only way to silence such barbaric creatures and erase their evil message from the psyche of humanity,” the former Minister stated.

He, however, noted that although the Brits did not allow the IRA to be granted interviews on British Television, that did not stop them from being interviewed and aired by foreign mediums and international television networks outside of the UK.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “It baffles me that the FG or anyone else should complain about the interview that the BBC granted to a murderous, notorious & wicked Nigerian terrorist. This is not the first or the last time this sort of thing will happen and frankly it is common place all over the world.

“Foreign mediums interviewed Osama Bin Ladin, the leader of Al Qaeda too just as they aired the interviews and messages of evil men like Mohammed Al Baghdadi, the founder of ISIS and Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.

“Thankfully these evil men were all eventually killed by security forces so they were no longer in a position to grant any self-serving interviews. That is the best and only way to silence such barbaric creatures and erase their evil message from the psyche of humanity.

“It is true that the Brits did not allow the IRA to be granted interviews on British Television but that did not stop them from being interviewed & aired by foreign mediums and international television networks outside of the UK.

“Even American local and international television networks interviewed IRA leaders regularly just as they did leaders of other violent terrorist organisations. If the FG wants the world to stop treating us with disdain & to prevent int. networks to stop airing interviews of the monsters of BH & ISWAP they should do more to fight terror & remove the terrorists from the land of the living.

“We should change the entire Military High Command &replace them with competent, loyal & patriotic commanders, equip our boys in the Army, Airforce & Navy with the necessary resources, weapons & hardware & send them into battle against the terrorists with the full backing & support of their military commanders, the FG and the Commander in Chief.

“The FG must wake up, annihilate the terrorists & send each of them to hell where they belong instead of whining & complaining about them being interviewed by the BBC.

“That is the way forward and that is the answer. If you remove them from the face of the earth they will not be in a position to grant foreign television stations self-serving interviews and neither will they be able to spread their vile poison and murderous disposition”.

Residents of Abuja have been living in fear since the invasion of Kuje Prison by Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) on July 5, 2022.

Over 800 inmates, including all the Boko Haram suspects in detention, were released during the invasion.

There have been several leaked memos of intelligence agencies on the plots to attack the nation’s capital.

The ambush of troops attached to the Presidential Guards Brigade heightened the worry of FCT residents.

A captain and two soldiers were killed by terrorists in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday night.

Terrorists allegedly kidnap Army Captain, 13 soldiers in Abuja

Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have reportedly abducted a Captain of the Nigerian Army and 13 soldiers in Abuja.

This is just as the Army has launched a search party for the Captain, who was the Commanding Officer of the 13 soldiers.

    The gunmen according to reports
attempted to attack the Nigerian Law School in Bwari but the attempt was foiled following the timely intervention by security operatives.

It was gathered on Tuesday that the Nigerian Army has launched a search party for the Captain, who was the Commanding Officer of the 13 soldiers.

Recall that the troops of the Elite Guards Brigade foiled an attack by terrorists on the Nigerian Law School in Bwari.

A military signal had revealed that the gunmen on Sunday ambushed the soldiers who were on routine patrol of the area.

The troops were said to have successfully repelled the terrorists.

A military source revealed on Tuesday morning that the Commanding Officer, simply identified as Captain Samuel and 13 soldiers were still missing in the aftermath of the operation and a search party had been launched for them.

He said, “Thirteen soldiers with their Commanding Officer, Capt. Samuel who manned the military checkpoint at Bwari – Abuja, are missing after responding to a distress call of the kidnapping of some locals by a suspected Ansanru terrorist group last Sunday.

“The terrorists had earlier on Friday kidnapped many locals from the Zuma community close to Veritas University, a Catholic University located in Bwari and demanded N500,000 ransom from each of their victims.

The problem started when a member of a vigilante group in the community, who was later killed by the terrorists group yesterday alerted the soldiers of this development.

“The military responded swiftly, only for their response to become fatal as we saw many soldiers with bullet wounds being evacuated from the scene of the attack, and heavy movement of military equipment like MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) Armoured Tanks and the military response team around Bwari for the past 3 days for a suspected cleanup operation.”

The source added, “As at the time of this report, the military is still in vigorous search of the Captain and his 13 other soldiers in the rocky terrain of Bwari; they have neither found them nor their dead bodies.

“When the wife of the military officer, Capt. Samuel, who is heavily pregnant, checked on her husband yesterday since she couldn’t reach him on the phone, some top military officers convinced her that her husband was on special duty and he is safe.

“It is important to note that Bwari suburb had witnessed large movements of over hundreds of people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on over 300 motorbikes a day last year and alarm was raised, but the authority said that there was no cause for fear, that those people were on a legitimate movement. Since last year, kidnappings, killings and other violent crimes have risen to apogee in Bwari and its environs.

Kaduna-Abuja train: Terrorists demand N100million ransom to release abductees

Terrorists who attacked the Kaduna-Abuja bound train on March 28, 2022 have place a 100 million naira ransom on each of the 43 remaining abductees still in their custody.

The families of the victims still in custody have been contacted since last week , a source said.

This development is coming few days after the Kuje correctional center was attacked and many terrorists inmates were freed by scores of gunmen.

The Islamic State West Africa Province claimed responsibility for the attack in a viral video 24 hours later.

During the attack, over 300 Boko Haram fighters, convicted criminals and other inmates were released by the terrorists who overwhelmed the security operatives guarding the facility.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government had since released the names and photos of the freed 64 terrorists and their names uploaded on the database of interpol.

The victims were reportedly released through the assistance of the Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald newspaper, Mallam Tukur Mamu, who has been negotiating with the militants.

Giving an update on the situation on Sunday, a family member of the abducted victims, who didn’t want his name in print, told newsmen that the terrorists were asking each family to cough up N100m ransom for the release of their loved ones.

Another family member said they were told that the terrorists were no longer interested in negotiating with the Federal Government, saying that N100m was required to free those in captivity.

He said they were still pleading with the terrorists to reduce the ransom as some of them could not afford the huge amount.

He noted, “My loved one has not been released, those that were released paid N100m. I don’t have that kind of money. The kidnappers got in touch with us. They said they were no longer negotiating with the Federal Government. Getting N100m is the dilemma many of us don’t have.”
