    Terry G, Nigerian singer has spoken out in response to the backlash over his recent name change to Terry Gzus, stating that the move marks a divine redirection of his career, not its decline.

    Addressing critics who believe the rebranding signals the end of his musical journey, Terry G dismissed the notion, explaining that Gzus symbolizes a deeper, spiritual transformation rather than a loss of purpose.

    In a statement, the artist wrote: “They say my career ended the day I became Terry Gzus. But let me set the record straight — my journey didn’t end; it was divinely redirected. Gzus is not Jesus Christ, but a reflection of the God in me — fearless, chosen, and unapologetic. You don’t kill purpose by changing a name. What’s ordained can’t be cancelled.”

    He emphasized that the name change reflects his personal growth and a stronger connection to a higher calling, urging fans to look beyond labels and see the intention behind the shift.

    Nigerian artiste, Gabriel Oche Amanyi,  Popularly known as  Terry G, has claimed that the Nigerian music industry is now being dominated by cultists.

    Terry G noted that people like him who are not cultists cannot operate in the Nigerian music industry anymore.

    Speaking in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, Terry G stated that there would be unity in the music industry again if cultism is eradicated.

    He said, “In my time [when I held sway], cultism used to be in the universities. But it has entered into the music industry now. If we can remove it from the music industry, we would be [one] family again.

    “But if there’s frat [confraternity] in the music industry, people like us who are not cultists cannot operate anymore.

    “When we held sway, there were people doing cultism but it wasn’t violent. It was about love. They said it was for solidarity propose.

    “But now, I can see the same family fighting themselves. So that’s just the major problem of the Nigerian music industry. A lot of musicians are even scared to do music. They want to do cult before they do music now because that would pave way for them than the music. Let’s try and reduce the rate of cultism in the music industry

    Portable is copying my style – Terry G laments

    Popular Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi,  known on stage  as Terry G, has posited  that his colleague, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable is copying  his “character.”

    But Terry G added that the ‘Zazu’ crooner failed to copy the musical part of him.

    Terry G spoke in the latest episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast which premiered on Monday night.

    “Portable picked the acting part of me. He didn’t pick the musical part of me. Music is about the instruments. Is it only about your voice? He didn’t create time to learn any instrument,” he said.

    The ‘Akpako Master’ also spoke on his fight with his colleague, AY. Com.

    “I beat AY.Com, I produced ‘Pass Me Ur Luv’, sang the hook and also had a verse on the song so nobody has the right to tell me not to perform that song at my shows. Moreover, he didn’t pay me for the production,” he said.

    Controversial Nigerian singer, Terry G has revealed that he is unfaithful in his relationship.

    During a conversation with Nedu on The Honest Bunch podcast, Terry G admitted to cheating despite his affection and respect for his babymama.

    He expressed a belief that infidelity is a common practice among men, emphasizing that it extends beyond his personal situation.

    In his words, “I have a babymama, I respect her as if I am married to her but I still wipe outside. Everybody does. I am not a Gospel musician”.

    Nigerian Singer, Terry G has revealed that the songs he produces do not align with godly values but rather with those of the devil.

    During an interview, he boldly asserted his identity as a secular musician, admitting that his songs are sung for the devil.

    He said: “I am a secular musician. I sing for the devil. We [secular musicians] sing for the devil, we praise the devil. We don’t glorify God. Abi all this one wey we dey do, you think to say na God we dey do am for?”

    He stated that when most Afrobeat artists sing secular songs, as long as it is not glorifying God, then that means it is glorifying the devil.

    Dating back to January 2024, Terry G had cried out over the ignorance of the industry when it comes to their colleagues.

    The music star expressed how sad he was over the fact that his colleagues were not responding to him despite all of his efforts to reach out to them.

    He questioned if it was fair the way he was being treated, while he told them to remember when he was there to help them.

    He revealed that he had pointedly reached out to several artists, however they had all failed to respond to him.

    Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has said his ‘deceitful team,’ undermined his endeavours.

    In an Instagram post shared via his account on Sunday, Terry G accused his former management of confirming bookings without his knowledge and failing to reimburse for shows he didn’t attend.

    He extended apologies to affected show promoters and Disc Jockeys, commonly referred to as DJs.

    He wrote: “To all show promoters. I worked with a dubious team (managers) which created a false narrative about me. They accepted bookings without me being aware & even refused to refund shows I didn’t attend and put the blame on me without my knowledge.

    “I am only but human and I use this platform to apologize for all that. I’m happy to clear this out as it has been reasons why y’all haven’t been hearing or seeing Terry G. Thank you.”

    Declaring his freedom from the ban imposed on him in the past by DJs, Terry G wrote:

    “To all deejays. I have been cleared from the ban I had years ago. I have settled, I’m putting this out for the great ones who haven’t heard the information since 2020 to know that I’m no longer banned by the DJ association.”

    Nigerian singer Gabriel Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has blasted his colleagues in the music industry for neglecting him.

    In a video shared on
    Instagram, Terry G mentioned that during his prime in the music industry, other artists sought him out, and he provided them with hit songs.

    Speaking in pidgin, he said “But this isn’t fair. You write to your fellow artists, they don’t respond. Remember when it was my time, all of you came to me, and I gave you guys hits. Now I reach out, and you don’t respond. Is it that until I pass away, you’ll remember me?”

    “This is how Nigerian music operates, consider it now. Ultimately, we are all contributing to the global music library of sounds. In case I make a comeback, thank you for waiting.”

    Singer Terry G celebrates 100 days without smoking weed

    Nigerian street hop singer, , Oche Gabriel Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has revealed that he just spent 100 days without smoking.

    Recall that Terry G announced recently that  he has quit smoking weed.

    The ‘Akpako Master’ disclosed this in a video message shared via his Instagram page recently.

    Celebrating his achievement, Terry G urged fans to join him in thanking God for spending 100 days without smoking.

    He said, “Day 100 of no smoking. Make una thank God for me. This is my day 100 of no smoking.”

    However, towards the end of the video, smoke was seen puffing out of the mouth of the singer.

    APC refuses to pay me for campaigning for them – Terry G

    Nigerian Singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, fondly called Terry G, has called out All Progressives Congress, (APC), over alleged debt.

    Terry G claimed that some persons hijacked the money he was supposed to get for campaigning for the APC.

    Terry G was one of the artistes that performed at President Bola Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, in May.

    The singer on his Instagram story wrote in pidgin, “For the people or whoever wey chop the money I worked for this APC campaign matters so make he no worry say nothing don do them o. I leave am to God. It’s only a matter of time.”

    In the video, the singer said; “My name is Terry G popularly known as Akpako Master. This wan na serious matter, concerning what I posted earlier on about the people owing me for the previous work I did for APC.

    “It’s very true, me I no e hustler wey go hustle and person no go give me my money… I did this campaign for daddy, daddy don pay these people wey suppose pay our money, make them give me my own money.

    Popular Nigerian singer, Chibuzor Oji fondly referred to as Faze, has taken to social media to announce the sad passing of his twin sister.

    The sad singer shared a video of his sister as he stated that she died two days before their birthday.

    The Originality crooner wrote, “It’s a sad day. My Twin sister has left me just two days before our birthday. We the Oji family take strength in knowing that she’ll never have to deal with this world’s problems anymore. We know she’s in a better place now.”

     

    Dancehall singer, Terry G, expressed his bewilderment over her death as he simply wrote, “condolences boss, wow.”

    Legendary comedian, Ali Baba wrote, “Oh sad… accept my sympathy.”

    Acclaimed rapper, Ruggedman also wrote, “Chaibu accept my sincerest condolences, my brother. May God give you the strength you and the rest of the family need to bear such a huge loss in Jesus name.”
