    TG Omori gives fresh health update after failed kidney transplant

    The ailing Nigerian music video director, TG Omori, has assured his fans that he will come back in 2025.

    Omori, who recently opened up about a failed kidney transplant, after his only brother donated one kidney to him, had in August expressed determination to overcome his health challenges.

    In a series of tweets on Monday, Omori shared a photo of himself, stressing the importance of maintaining the right mindset, even in the face of illness.

    “It’s mind over matter. If the mind is defeated, it’s only a matter of time before the body falls,” he wrote.

    In another tweet, he stated, “Pain has no power over me”.

    He also reassured his followers that he would be back in 2025. “I’ll be back in 2025. Stay in love!” he added.

    TG Omori, also known as Boy Director, has been active in the music industry since 2018 and has directed videos for a diverse range of music recording artists, including Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kizz Daniel, Fireboy DML, Falz, Naira Marley, Asake, and many others.

    Popular music director, and cinematographer ThankGod Omori Smith popularly known as TG Omori has dismissed the rumour of being abandoned by the entertainment industry following his battle with kidney failure. 

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Portable called out Nigerian celebrities via his Instagram on Sunday over their failure to make financial contributions towards the medical bills of the ailing singer.

    According to the controversial artiste, the entertainment industry is entirely filled with fake love.

    He further lamented that Nigerian celebrities such as embattled Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, music executive Don Jazzy and others had donated to controversial cross-dresser, Bobrisky during his prison ordeal but were yet to extend the same gesture to TG Omori, who is chronically ill.

    “TG Omori has a kidney problem and celebrities are not donating money or kidney for him but Victor Osimhen and others donated money for Bobrisky who has no value. The industry is full of fake love,” he fumed.

    Reacting to Portable’s outburst, TG Omori noted that all he needed is prayers and moral support. He further urged the public to pay no attention to ‘‘clout desperate dogs.’’

    ”All I needed was your prayers, moral support and love, and this I am grateful to have gotten in abundance.

    “The industry has and friends have been solidly behind me, months before it all came public

    “Please ignore the clout desperate dogs. Jesus is King,” he wrote

    TNG understands that TG Omori recently underwent an unsuccessful kidney transplant surgery in Lagos.

    His body rejected the kidney donated to him by one of his brothers, according to multiple reports.

    While some Nigerian celebrities like Davido, Kizz Daniel and others have made solidarity posts on social media since the failed surgery, none of them have publicly made any donation towards paying his medical bills.

    Award-winning video director, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori has shared an update on his health, days after disclosing he had a failed kidney transplant.

    The music video producer had via his X handle expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support during this difficult times, after which revealed that he is on the path to recovery.

    Omori wrote, “Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes.

    “I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one, but I’ll continue the fight. I’ve been battling this for the past year or two, and I’m not backing down now.”

    He added, “Love y’all so much. Can’t wait to make new, crowded music videos for y’all.”

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the renowned video producer had via his verified X.com handle on Wednesday opened up about his recent health struggles, revealing that his brother selflessly donated a kidney to save his life.

    “Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidneys (sic) so I could live again,” he wrote.

    He also posted a picture of himself on a hospital bed on his Instagram story with the words, “Keep my spirit alive.”

    The music producer further revealed that he had undergone a kidney transplant due to a severe kidney-related illness and didn’t want to die.  He pleaded with Nigerians to pray for him.

    The music producer’s health issues came to the limelight after fans expressed concern over his absence from the public space.

    Reacting, the acclaimed producer broke his silence by sharing on X.com a picture of him crying on the hospital bed while receiving oxygen.

    Some of our favourite Nigerian celebrities at some point in their lives have suffered from Kidney disease, whilst some survived the illness, others were unfortunate, as the disease took their lives.

    The recent ordeal of award-winning video director, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, who revealed  he had a failed kidney transplant following his brother’s kidney donation to him to improve his kidney-related ailment has highlighted further the increase in cases of Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Nigeria.

    Sadly, the sufferers of Kidney disease, according to the recent statistics by the Nigerian Association of Nephrology (NAN), are mainly the working-age population, with many resulting in loss of jobs and poverty due to the condition. 

    Information from NAN showed that the condition not only gulps vast sums of money for treatment, it also leaves the sufferers constantly tired, in pain, and at risk of death.

    In this article, we will be looking at some Nigerian celebrities who have suffered from Kidney disease and others who died from the disease.

    1) TG Omori: An award-winning music producer publicly called for prayers after revealing that his kidney transplant was unsuccessful.

    The music producer had earlier revealed on his X account that his brother donated a kidney to help alleviate his kidney-related ailment.

    However, in an update shared on Wednesday, the cinematographer disclosed that the transplant had failed.

    He wrote, “One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicolas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me.”

    2) Leo Mezie: The 46-year-old Leo Mezie, a prominent Nollywood actor, died in 2022 after recovering from a kidney transplant. 

    The deceased’s colleague, Chioma Toplis, had in a post on her Instagram account, confirmed that Mezie died in a hospital in the Federal Capital Territory while recovering from a Kidney transplant.

    Sharing some of his pictures in a post, she wrote, “Actor Leo Mezie is dead. He died on Saturday in Abuja while recovering from a kidney transplant. His corpse has been moved to Umuahia his hometown. RIP Leo.”

    3) Amaechi Muonagor: The veteran Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor died earlier this year after suffering from kidney-related issues, diabetes and stroke.

    His fellow actor Kingsley Orji confirmed the actor’s death days after the veteran cried out for financial assistance on social media to enable him pay for a kidney transplant in India.

    4) Muna Obiekwe: Nollywood actor Muna Obiekwe, had died of kidney failure on January 18, 2015 at a hospital in Festac, Lagos. According to the late actor’s sister, his blood pressure had triggered a kidney failure. He was later buried on February 3 at Umudioka in Anambra State.

    5) OJB Jezreel: A late Nigerian music producer and singer who underwent a kidney transplant in 2013.

    6) Eedris Abdulkareem: A Nigerian Afrobeat artist, songwriter, and singer, Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, popularly known as Eedris Abdulkareem was diagnosed with kidney failure,  he however, he underwent a kidney transplant in 2022.

    7): Sammie Okposo: Popular Nigerian gospel singer who underwent a kidney transplant in 2022; he later slumped and died later in the same year at the age of 51.

    8) Lord of Ajasa: A Nigerian rapper diagnosed with kidney disease in 2022 and underwent surgery.

    9) Emma Ugolee, Veteran broadcaster and host of the music talk show ‘The Gist’ on HipTV, Emma Ugolee, suffered  Kidney disease for four years but survived after a successful surgey.

    Award-winning video director, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, has cried out on social media after revealing that he had a failed kidney transplant following his brother’s kidney donation to him to improve his kidney-related ailment.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the renowned motion picture practitioner had via his verified X.com handle opened up about his recent health struggles, revealing that his brother selflessly donated a kidney to save his life.

    “Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidneys (sic) so I could live again,” he wrote.

    He also posted a picture of himself on a hospital bed on his Instagram story with the words, “Keep my spirit alive.”

    The music producer further revealed that he had undergone a kidney transplant due to a severe kidney-related illness and didn’t want to die.  He pleaded with Nigerians to pray for him.

    The cinematographer also noted that he had gone into the theatre three times already.

    The music producer’s health issues came to the limelight after fans expressed concern over his absence from the public space.

    Reacting, the acclaimed producer broke his silence by sharing on X.com a picture of him crying on the hospital bed while receiving oxygen.

    Before his revelation, Omori has been making cryptic tweets about his health before the recent transplant.

    Last month, the award-winning music producer wrote on his X handle, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me.

    “Poor marijuana, they blame you for all my rasclaat.

    “You wanna eat, I wanna live.”

    TG Omori, a popular Nigerian music video director on Tuesday disclosed that he received a kidney donation from his only brother.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the prominent video director made the revelation in an X.com, formerly known as Twitter post.

    “Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidney (sic) so I could live again,” he wrote.

    In another post shared on his Instagram story, Omori shared a photo of himself on a hospital bed with the caption “Keep my spirit alive.”

    However, it is yet unclear where the popular music director will be undergoing the kidney transplant in Nigeria.

    Following the development, fans and colleagues have stormed his page with prayers and messages of support.

    The verbal war between controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as  Portable and popular music director, and cinematographer ThankGod Omori Smith popularly known as TG Omori is far from being over.

    Portable had sent TG Omori a website not to visit Lekki area of Lagos or Sango in Odun state for his personal safety.

    Recall that  Omori, on Tuesday, gave in to the Portable demands to shoot his video after constant attacks on social media.

    However, TG Omori has told Portable to send a song so that he would do the video, but he’s yet to disclose whether it would be free of charge or he will discount the $50k fee.

    Following the proposal, the duo launched an Instagram live session. Portable, who expressed dissatisfaction at TG Omori’s expensive charges, queried the director for not loving him again as he begged for his assistance.

    He then jokingly threatened the music director not to visit Lekki or Sango for his own safety because there would be a fight if they met.

    The Zazuu star wondered why the director was giving him attitude and stated that he should have continued with his offensive behaviour and seen what would have happened.

    In response, TG Omori said it wasn’t personal, that he was only chasing after money before any other thing.

    Recall that Omori had demanded $50k (over N22 million) for a video shoot from Portable earlier last month, which infuriated the ”Zazu Zeh” crooner, who enquired whether the director produced videos for ghosts.
